My apologies 'DarkSithLord' it looks like our home game with you's will be at home after all.
A quick quote from our club, saying "so we're well on target in terms of the pitch being ready in time"
"There are two home games coming up in quick succession on Aug 9th against Gainsborough and Aug 12th against Alfreton" :gmc:
Damn. Thats a big shame.

We have concluded our business with our 16th addition. Goalkeeper Chris Elliot from Harrogate Town. Over the moon with this as he has looked fantastic in pre season.

He's a decent enough keeper at this level. Played a dozen games last year after Crook fluffed a couple of times. He probably would have stuck with us had we not signed Belshaw. He's too good to be a second keeper.

Sounds good. Dont think he is going to be second choice here. Mason Springthorpe has looked pretty poor and has flatted to deceive in pre season so far

Done well, looks like the final piece has slotted in to the jigsaw. I think you'll do well this season and a few clubs will be looking over their shoulders as the season progresses.

Lost 3-2 to an extremely strong Burnley XI but took the lead twice and only lost thanks to a very dubious penalty award

We were nothing short of magnificent throughout to be honest. Chris Elliot was fantastic in goal. Pulled off 4 or 5 top saves. Ryan Jennings looks quite a find from Curzon. Gets better with every game and gave Burnley a real test today today. Tom Allan gave us the lead, heading home Jenning`s peach of a free kick. Andre Gray then levelled 5 minutes in to the second half. Chris Sharp then restored the lead with a measured finish but Gray had Burnley level on 63 after a very cheap penalty. Replacement Keeper Springthorpe had another moment to forget as he allowed Gray to complete his hatrick.

However, if we replicate that level of performance on a semi regular basis then promotion is a realistic possibility without doubt.

We have confirmed signing Max Leonard from Glossop......that is our replacement for either Ryan Hall or Warburton.....got 20 odd goals for them last season, he looks pretty useful but does need to get himself into the box a lot more.

Lost 1-0 to Hudds youth today, still worries about being very toothless, but we didn't play Naill cummins today to give others a chance and i think that target man is always a must with our gameplay to feed off.

mayybe harsh on the toothless side as we didn't have alex brown in who is vital and Cummins also vital......but it does highlight our season will depend on certain players usually being fit.

Seemed like a similar story to us we went toe to toe with the other Burnley squad, only separated by a free kick from Brady. We hit the post, had a header clawed off the line and several other shots saved. We sign a couple of these trialists we've got we should be good for the season.

Also Elton Ngwatala yet to sign for a club after it was reported by us he'd be going to League 1. Was in the stands for the game. If we somehow kept him it would be one of the signings of the summer

Looks like yesterday was a very good day for Salford on two fronts. Firstly they made their big attack based signing by signing up Jack Redshaw who i believe Rochdale had on trail most of this pre-season......been previously at Morecambe and Blackpool and dread to think the wage he has been offered (although they will say probably no where near what others can offer of course)

secondly i see Danny Livesey ended up playing, so the injury rumours must have been false, or injury not as bad as feared.......puts them back in a strong position.....well if the constant behind scene things stop.

By heck that was a swift recovery from Danny Livesey, not unless it was overhyped utter nonsense.
They are always moaning behind the scenes, just been having a dig in saying, both the Blackpool and Man U following were poor. Get the tissues out.

I think they have not realised 80% of their fanbase are new and latching onto the bandwagon.....those types of fans don't do pre-season games.

it will still have been a better attendance for them than our 80 odd we had saturday

Not sure why they aren't happy, jesus they got over 600 for each of those games. which in a sense is very good.
What do they want blood. Yeah I forgot all about the bandwagon culture.
Nowt wrong with that attendance, every little helps mate

We had a very productive run out against Macclesfield last weekend. Came into the break 2-1 down, but came storming out of the break with a 4 goal flurry in 25 mins to win comfortably 5-2. Matty Warburton with a hat-trick and 2 for Jason Oswell.

New look attack is looking the part in pre-season. All of our attacking 4 have found the net with Jason Oswell leading the way with 4 so far this pre-season.

2 games left of pre-season, with Bolton (might be an XI, I'm not entirely sure) and Barrow both coming to EP, before we start the season away at Spendymoor before entertaining Curzon at home on the Tuesday night.

Darlington have signed centre-half Josh Heaton, 20, from Bamber Bridge. Has Conference North experience with Tamworth & Stalybridge.

Have only seen him in two pre-season games recently, but from what I saw he is talented. Very strong in the air too.

Good to see we have addressed our weaknesses by bringing in two new centre-halfs over the summer.

That's a very respectable result that like beating a decent team from the league above, even though we keep on saying to ourselves its only a friendly. I remember 'Bouncy Warburton' well that's what the Curzon fans were singing at Blackwell Meadows, when he ran our defense ragged. we just couldn't handle him.

Warburton has looked impressive so far. Very intelligent and skilful player who's excellent at finding those little pockets of space between the midfield and defence. Knits the midfield and attack together nicely.

We have signed Alberto Seidi who by all accounts has looked great this pre season. There are also rumours that Stephen Brogan will be coming back to us which will be good news.

Seems like we've got Callum Rzonca on trial who is great on football manager so on that alone I think he'll be a good signing.

I think he'll set the league alight this season under the influence of Jim Gannon.
Yeah he was impressive when i last seen him at BM, thinking to myself this lad is pretty intelligent.

Warby is an easy 20 goal striker if used right......proven it twice at Curzon.......i think.....think, we may have found better with Max Leonard from Glossop.

Is just something about him in friendlies impress me, he buzzes about, has good energy and desire, good mobility and first touch.

Only problem is the word. 'might' he ain't scoring in pre-season, is snapping at chances. Is a player I think if got some early season goals will grab 20 odd, but if fails early could drift away.

But Stockport need proven as they need to hit ground running and push on and Warby is proven, we can gamble.....our only option is to gamble

A colleague of mine is a City fan, but actually goes to watch Glossop more than City these days. He said to me in March this year that he'd be surprised if Max Leonard wasn't playing at a higher level this upcoming season as he was streets ahead of anyone else in the Glossop squad.

He reckons you've got a gem that'll no doubt improve and go on to better things. Has already said he's going to come to the game on 8th August to see how he's getting on for you guys.

Forgive me if I am being lazy, but what is the situation with Darlo?

Have they put investment into their ground to qualify for the play-offs and Conference ground criteria? Is there the risk of a repeat scenario of last year? They seem to have made some decent signings and wouldn't be surprised at all if they made the play-offs again.

No that's ok mate, ground improvement funds are being raised in three stages.
Stage 1 target has been reached, the other stages have slightly slowed down a little, that could be down to many factors holidays etc. So fingers crossed we'll have everything sorted hopefully by the cut-off deadline, which I'm not sure but i think is March 31st next year?
Put it this way I'm not sure whether other Darlo' fan's would agree, but for me as a Darlo' supporter i don't think we would get away with another embarrassment of not making the play-offs for the exact same reason two seasons on the trot.
As for the playoffs going of some of last years performances, and having more or less the same squad with a few additions added, we should be ok? Saying that our new signing will be missing, apparently broken collar bone.
Good luck this season!

Is something about him in the friendlies says the talent is there, but its whether the goals come. Warburton is 20 goals, which we have lost so need to replace.

I think our manager has known Warburton was going, Leonards been with us all pre-season so id like to think we believe he is able to fill that loss.

Shall know in 2 weeks

Apparently York, Darlo & Stockport have the highest budgets
He said that Salfords budget was in the top 8. I don't know how he could even know with any certainty, seen as no wage budgets published.
