Lost 1-2 to Bradford City. We took the lead on three minutes, scored a second which was disallowed for offside. Second half we conceded from a corner. Changed all eleven players on 65 minutes then conceded the winning goal from a free kick.
Played some good football at times when we managed to keep possession. Promising signs for the season to come.

Rochdale split their first and second teams and sent half of each to The Shay and to Chorley. We won 2-0 and Chorley lost 4-0, amply demonstrating why we're in the Premier and they're still in the North. :bdick::bdick::bdick:

We lost 1-0 away at Ashton United.

Mix of some first teamers and youth / squad players. Pretty boring game on the whole. Not very much goalmouth action at all. Ashton's goal coming from the penalty spot.

We missed a pen late in the game. Young George West had his first effort tipped onto the post and then followed up with an effort (from about 4 yards out, open goal) which crashed against the cross bar! Poor lad.

We were hopelessly outclassed by what looked a really decent Blackburn outfit. If anything, 8-0 flattered us. At least the new away strip looked nice. "We fight to the end" my arse, though.

Finished 10-0 to our youth team at Burnham. Tristram Abrahams grabbed five in the first half. He's going to be deeeeecent.

The Under 16s played the youth team fixture instead and lost 3-2 to Heybridge Swifts.

Beat Rochdale 2-0 last night. Quiet first half until late on when Rochdale started to take hold. We changed things round at half time and were much better, great strength from Macdonald to cut it back for Denton and a quick free kick played in Kosylo for the second. Looks promising enough.

We beat Northampton Town 2-0

It was originally scheduled to be an XI from them, with mostly youth, but they decided they needed more fitness and upped it to a first team affair. They also played last night at Frome. Apparently they XI that started played 30 mins last night and the XI that finished played the first 60.

It was gracious of them to play two teams so we could beat each of them 1-0 ;)

A great result, with 6 levels difference between the sides, and only our 2nd friendly match.

Another tough home friendly on Saturday as we take on St Ives from the level above.

Decent result for Blyth on Tuesday night.
Blyth Spartans 3 - Sunderland Xl 2
David McTiernan stole the show, with 3 goals for the home team, and Rees Greenwood and Elliott Embleton replied for the visitors.

After four hours of preseason football Sutton finally score a goal in their 1-0 win at Dartford.

Tonight's friendly result Bishop Auckland 0 Darlington 2

Another decent game tonight, I thought the 2nd half was better than the 1st half, we definitely should have scored more than 2 goals, Josh Gillies blazed his penalty way over the bar, hit the post and other chances went begging on the night. Once again impressed with our 3 lads on trial.
Jordan Richards slotted into right back when he came on in the 2nd half, this guy is some player, I'll be gutted if we let him go.
Wheatley when into midfield and played extremely well, and Fenwick looked very sharp in and around the box tonight.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
Curzon playing Hudds u23 side today......not an appealing friendly to bring fans in (crowd looks about 36......so much for efl saying prem u23 are attractive)

But should be a good on pitch game, good test to our passing approach to games

A storming 2-1 victory at mighty Greenwich Borough today. Tremble as Orient bestride this tinpot league like a God.

We just lost to West Ham under 10's.

We're yet to win a game.

Tight game, goal conceded via a keeper error. Fierce shot on goal which superted attempted to catch but it bounced out of his grasp onto the path of a Donny player who poked it home.
The lads are looking fit and sharp.

Lost 1-2 to Walsall, much improved performance though after a crap one at Alty in the week.

Nyal Bell got our goal, corker it was as well.

Too many useless trialists in a second half we lost 4-0!

Yeah you played well in the first half and looked a really good side, second half you barely had a shot, no idea why you've taken Courtney Meppen-Walter on trial and then played him left back

We drew 2-2 at home to Wycombe in a quite competitive and entertaining game. Couple of silly defensive errors second half but other than that we gave them a decent game.

Completely agree. We were pretty impressive in the first half and were winning due to some excellent finishing. Then the changes came, chaos descended and we were awful, you could have had 10. I thought County looked quite useful though, some nice movement upfront.

As for Courtney Meppen-Walter, he's been awful in every game I've seen of him so far!

Lost 3-2 to an extremely strong Burnley XI but took the lead twice and only lost thanks to a very dubious penalty award

We were nothing short of magnificent throughout to be honest. Chris Elliot was fantastic in goal. Pulled off 4 or 5 top saves. Ryan Jennings looks quite a find from Curzon. Gets better with every game and gave Burnley a real test today today. Tom Allan gave us the lead, heading home Jenning`s peach of a free kick. Andre Gray then levelled 5 minutes in to the second half. Chris Sharp then restored the lead with a measured finish but Gray had Burnley level on 63 after a very cheap penalty. Replacement Keeper Springthorpe had another moment to forget as he allowed Gray to complete his hatrick.

However, if we replicate that level of performance on a semi regular basis then promotion is a realistic possibility without doubt.

Here was the Burnley team

Heaton (c), Darikwa, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor, Gudmundsson, Cork, Defour, C Long, Gray, Walters.

Diamonds lost for the first time at Hayden Road 2-1 to St Ives, from one level above us.

We played a few more trialists this time, mostly from the bench, and a few different players to midweek.

Always good to get a mix of results in friendlies in order to see the parts you need to work on.

Won 3-1 away to the mighty Grantham Town,
Having a 4 day training camp in area and then playing Oakham United I shudder to think which division they are from.

Hardly a Burnley 'XI' then!

Redshaw strikes twice but Ammies edged out in seven goal thriller.
Salford City 3 Blackpool 4 (Redshaw 2, Nottingham) (Vassell, Potts, Osayi-Samuel, Clayton)
Attendance 635
I think Redshaw has come back to the club.
