Went in our first season in the NL ,Boxing Day.
Never ever again.

Roof blew off since we were last there, would be alright if it was any other date but it's always Boxing Day when there's no bastard trains on.

Gateshead? Football at an athletics stadium. Eugh. And there could be more of it if Chelmsford go up.
Can't wait.

I think you're probably at the Depression stage right now, give it a month and a full off season and you'll be hitting stage 7 with a spring in your step and increased vigour!

Shame to see Rochdale drop - Lincoln, Macclesfield and Rochdale seemed to be the constants of L2 for many years!

Can't think of any sides who've dropped back into the NL as quickly as Hartlepool have? York in three or four seasons possibly? Were Barnet two before dropping again?

I don't think it's kind to come here and mock the afflicted

Torquay was fairly short stint I think.

I'm going for Testing. In a weird way I am kind've looking forward to some novelty factor of a load've new teams. Most away games will be like FA Cup 1st round. And actually being in the 1st round will be an achievement. Can picture the headlines "Plucky non league Rochdale with their team of plumbers and farmers pulled of an historic giant killing of Fleetwood Town".
Last 5 years we've lost over 100 league matches. So even just a mid table dull as fuck season would be welcome.
If in 5 years time we're still there, or worse, in NLN, I might change my tune a bit!

The Novelty will soon ware off believe me.
I personally don,t have a problem with the NLge, As i,ve said in the past
Its a last chance saloon for the younger players dumped by the big boys.

On the other hand the people who run the Lge are bent as fuck, Unless things have changed.
Then you have the Narky clubs like Borethem to death, And Broomley.(pain in the arse)
No disrepect to Sutton but you going to meet more like them who just refuse to lay down, lol

Thing is you CAN NOT underestimate anyone.

You never know 3up 3down may come into force or the EFL may just cut the ties.

The novelty will soon wear off after your beaten at home by some god forsaken southern side with 15 visiting fans.
The gamesmanship, sorry, blatant cheating is something to behold.
And don't get me started about the standard of joke refereeing.
I'm fecking dreading it.

Speaking to Football League World, Palmer said: "Kevin Phillips led South Shields to the Northern Premier League title this season in his first managerial post.

"You have to understand the circumstances in that, they were the only full-time team in that league and the chairman has put loads and loads of money in there.
Hope hes not expecting that if he does come here lol
As opposed to Harrogate, Sutton, Crawley and FGR? Let's not pretend lge 2 is any better!

Of course it is

I guess you have to just crack on though, the one that did for me was that stupid fa trophy, the most ridiculously pointless cup in the world, it buggered your season up whether you were in it or not!

You didn't do a very good job of throwing the games when Darlo beat you in the final then!

He already knows about the joke reffing, 2 points down the swanie for us at tranmere remember(Pen)
And another point lost at stevenage because the ref thought it was OK to cheat.

And if any think he was not cheating.
He left the field of play to gain an advantage, twat.

Mind the same player scored a very good goal at our place.

We actually played weakened sides most of the way through, and the final was a joke, in a way in pleased we didn’t win it, having that thing on your record, er no ta.

The season we won the league we lost in the first round which went on to do us a massive favour.

There’s absolutely nothing to look forward to down here believe me, it’s an utterly miserable existence

The cheating, time wasting etc is just as bad at this level IMO.

It’s the same in league 1 now as well, it seemed to almost happen overnight. When we played at Sunderland on Boxing Day they were pathetic but robbed us 1-0.

Macclesfield were promoted in 2018 and relegated in 2020. They were relegated after a points deduction. IIRC they were included in the list of clubs for the 2020/21 National League season but were expelled after the season started without playing a game following their liquidation

Definitely happens in L1/2. Darren Ferguson sides always were niggly and horrible to play against.
And Crawley at home for us this season was particularly embarrassing. They were wasting time, feigning injury etc really early on at 0-0. I'd kind've get it 1-0 up with a few minutes to go but that took then piss.
Another thing that is really pissing me off lately is the inability of officials to enforce a FK or Throw-in being taken even vaguely in the correct part of the pitch. Seems every game you'll see a few of either gain a quarter length of the pitch from where they should be. Not holding out hope for NL refs being better.

Yeah that’s no worse down here I don’t think. But there’s a long list of things that are:
- Officiating is terrible
- Having to buy away tickets through opposition fans websites pisses me off, perhaps irrationally
- Opposition fans calling you arrogant just because you support a bigger team
- Uncovered terraces. Terrible for atmosphere, terrible in the pissing rain
- The standard of football in the lower half of the table is awful. I don’t buy this ‘National League is no worse than L2’ bollocks
- Opposition players celebrating in front of you like they’ve won the league when they score a goal
- Significantly more Tuesday nights (or at least it seems that way) because of the FA Trophy
- Every other away game is near London
- 3G pitches. At Bromley, someone leant on the post at a corner and the whole goal moved

I’m sure there’s more but there’s a few a reasons

The worst things about the NL;

Clubs calling matches off at 2pm on a Saturday when you're already there.

The refs have to prove themselves capable in the NL before they can move on up.
So think about it.

Bet he doesn,t even know what a whippet looks like.
PS: good luck in Lge2.

Urgghh, the EFL deduct as many points as needed to get rid of us job.

Ahh well, we are better for it.

That made me laugh about the goalposts at Bromley.

I remember same happening to me as a full back defending corners in school matches, wherever we played that happened as I leant against the post waiting for the corner to be taken
