Wrexham fans can only hold on for the ride. Time will tell if they become an established Championship club or crash and burn in the way others have. Many of us live in glasshouses so we should be careful of throwing stones. Mr Weaver Sn is spending £m of his lad's inheritance propping Harrogate up.

If I supported Wrexham, I'd worry about the other one, McElhenney. He never looks as enthusiastic as RR. Perhaps he is just a miserable git, if one of them gets bored, I suspect it will be him.

I always got the feeling it was the other way, McElhenney is really into it, RR less so, the issue being RR is the guy with the money. They could survive RM getting bored, but not Reynolds.

It was RM's idea but I think RR might have actually been to more games, which I didn't think would be the case.

It's just boring. You don't need to inform Wrexham fans about the potential problems that come from bad or irresponsible owners. We all know we are spending loads of money and what can go wrong with that. But as soon as our figures come out you get hundreds of fans of other clubs banging on about how we are about to go bust, but all the other club finances (and all the other mounting debts) don't get those comments. Worry about your own clubs.

at the very least you can see Wrexham are getting increased income for their ridiculous spending…….it’s got to be safer than say here at Carlisle where we also now have American owners who will also open their wallets and spend big……but are more relatively unknown and you don’t know how long they will back up the spending.

My bigger question is where it goes when the tv interest drops which it will at somepoint like any tv series, when Disney suddenly out the blue cancel it (streaming sites way) have Wrexham back up to keep their sponsors and other income brought in due to tv show…..or do they just hope to be in premiership by then.

I get the impression that RR actually likes football more whereas RM loves the fantasy of a small working class team and the concept of promotions more than the sport.

Either way literally nothing to be concerned about as a Wrexham fan at this moment and doubt they would just pull the drawbridge up and leave you in the shit. Loans with interest is odd and perhaps something I’d want the supporters trust to question perhaps.

Bolton, Derby, Wigan and Reading weren't in the Conference, so what the fuck are you on about?

We aren't just propped up by pumping money in from personal wealth, the club is generating a through its media exposure and media assault on the US. Initial sums of money are required for infrastructure (in particular) as we transition from a club who has had 15 years (arguably more) of under investment. As each year goes by our ability to generate more money ourselves increases. How long that continues is a bit of an unknown but for now we are not in the perilous state people seem to think we are.

When we are in the Championship we will worry about where the funding levels will come from,. but for now we aren't there.
Sorry but Masi has spoken, so your’re fucked mate.

It’s the same for all clubs, we made a 50k loss one year and folk were on here saying how can Mansfield continue like this!?!?!?

Some crazy losses last season in L1 as well - Fleetwood lost £6m(!), Portsmouth £7m...Wigan £17.5m (albeit a Championship side last season).

I suppose it's just football tribalism. If I wasn't a Wrexham fan id slag us off too.

A lot of it comes down to how deep your owners pockets are, or more accurately how much they are prepared to write off each year and for how long.

Sustainability is talked about often rarely achieved with that open cheque book.

Our owner bangs on about sustainability...if you hadn't noticed...but has probably created one of the least sustainable football clubs on the planet.

Sometimes it's the owners that try to full themselves , other times in the fans. Without {insert very rich person(s) name} clubs at this level aren't sustainable.

You are a deluded fool to think they are. All you can hope is for the owner to leave you in a better position than when they came in.

McElhenney's show is the longest running American live action sitcom on TV. He doesn't do stuff for the short-term.

He's an incredibly busy man, which is why he's been to less games, but very enthusiastic all the same.

Worth noting that the owners appear to be in bed with partners of AC Milan and Fenway Sports Group. When we inevitably find our ceiling under the current owners, whether that's L1 or The Championship, I imagine they'll be calling them in to push us to the next level. We're in a different league here to many of these other bankrolled teams, this is just the start.

The Wigan one isn’t that surprising because they still delude themselves as to what level they are and have done now since 1996.

I always think Carlisle have Championship potential but have the look of a league two club…….Wigan meanwhile realistically have league one potential but have the look of a premiership club.

So owners keep coming in, looking at the great set up, spend massively then find out their fanbase doesn’t exist, panic and sell up to the next gullible fool.

Very worried now some random Harrogate fan, who clearly doesn't understand finances, can see that McElhenney is less invested than RR and that two famous Hollywood actors with reputations to upkeep are likely to pull the plug and leave us in a mess.

Maybe they just want to knock down the ground and build a B&Q on it as well!

Ouch, I seem to have touched a nerve there.

Very similar to Beckham buying inter Miami for $25 million and with his wealth alone would never going to get it to any serious standard....hence him being with telecom bothers as sleeping partners......club is valued over 1bn today.....beckham could fund Salford city up to and including the championship alone and that is about his level with his wealth.....(370 million) very similar to the Wrexham boys.....it’s the sleeping partners that roll the final stage.

Decent amount of income. Making a loss, not good. Probably the reason they haven't fixed the hot water in the bogs.

Incredibly well run club, exception rather than the rule. I do think our transfer policy will improve sooner rather than later, or at least I hope so. Once you're up in the top 3 tiers, unless you have mental money (which we won't by that point) a good transfer policy is hella important.

Thats my hope too. I can see why we've acted like we have up to now but we need to start to think a bit more long term.
