Pretty sure it's the first time I've ever been to a league game at BP on a Thursday night. I think one of those feckin shite home performances in the Conference Play-offs was a Thursday night though - Braintree / Newport / Gateshead?
The Gateshead home play off game was a Thursday but we weren’t shite we were brilliant, battered them but came up against a keeper who had the game of his life.
Those other 2 games though, no arguments, complete turd in both.

Set for a good crowd tonight, Swindon bringing nearly 1400 and currently about 50 seats behind the goal and 50 seats in the main stand available.

It never ceases to amaze me how you are so opiniated on a team that you dont watch. Youve even indicated on another forum that you dont even watch the games on I-Follow now. Have you thought of switching your "allegiance" to somebody more local in the Greek league? Perhaps you'll get a greater level of satisfaction?
Fuck me, not you again.

I‘ve watched all the games bar the last 3 or 4 - plenty to form an opinion. If that opinion doesn’t happen to agree with yours I really don’t give a flying fuck. If you’re happy with the management side of things that’s up to you. Lindsey et al deserve all the shit that’s being flung at them. It’s stats based nonsense without even a nod to entertaining the fans or even pretending that winning is the priority. I thought Garner ball was the pits but this crap takes the biscuit.

Though i can’t see it happening Lose tonight at hartlepool and there’s a chance things might start to get ugly, the performance and tactics boxing against northampton were a complete shambles and completely unacceptable.

It’s odd given the form we’ve had in 2022 where we’re in the top 10 performing sides in the EFL,
but his tactics at home are really starting to cause some friction between him and the fans.

Ironically the 1 upfront tactics does work better away by and large and it would be rather a surprise to come away without at least a point.

2-1 mansfield.

Always good when the away team sells out to boost the crowd  :P1:

So after reading this thread is anyone actually happy with how they’re doing?

You got swindon fans in 5th being called “poor buggers” for going to northampton given how they’re playing (though i just thought it was poor buggers for having to go to northampton hahah)

You’ve got Mansfield fans in 6th heckling clough for his dull defensive football, carlisle (somehow in 4th) are still fretting about relegation.

Fuck knows what the ones down the bottom are doing

Only in the big games do the home ends sell out (playoffs spring to mind!)

I am, but you get easily pleased after not winning for 27 games. Settled down now after a patchy start, including the embarrassment at Mansfield, largely due to getting in the likes of Pell as seasoned shithousers to support the talented kids. Quite ugly at times but we do have quality in there which shows now and then, and now unbeaten in 9 league games. See what happens in the January window (Jake Forster-Caskey on his way allegedly) but I'm not sure we need all that much more to have a playoff challenge. Been sneaking our way up steadily and only a few points off.

Big one tonight, if we can pick up another positive result/performance before heading into January window it could be massive for momentum etc

In Simmo we trust and all that.

HG is well, HG, and Carver is difficult to take seriously but even though I'm enjoying going to games and feel a connection with this squad I didn't feel so much with previous squads I'm still mystified as to how we find ourselves in 4th given the long winless runs we keep going on.

It's a tight division though, we're only 6 points ahead of the team in 16th and we're not on particuarly great form and I can't remember the last time we had a good January.

EDIT: Looks like I don't know what I'm talking about, I could have sworn we turned to garbage following the new year season in season out but decided to check and we actually have a distinctly average record in January in the last decade, and in the last few years a very good one. Maybe it's February once the board have flogged all our decent players that we usually turn to shit.

I am. After a poor start we're unbeaten in 9 getting 19 points. Should have been 21 but a shit ref on Monday thought otherwise.

My local game tonight at Northampton. Should be a good game with a crackling atmosphere under the lights. A repeat of the Di Canio game from 10 years or so would be ideal!

Heading to the Walter Tull in the Sixfields leisure park area for a few pre-game stiffeners.

Kay is still suspended - the 5th of his 6 game ban.
Big game for us as if we could get a win it would set us up nicely for Rochdale on Monday (an unlikely) 6 points from the 2 games would keep us in play off places and get us much closer to survival.
What did Kay do to get a 6 game ban?

Charming!

I couldn't fight sleep but a pint would be my preferable welcome.

I'm sure I should have noticed it before but I didn't realise Sabin played for you. He was described by Andy King (I think) as the next Thierry Henry but he was a little like bambi on ice!

Sutton away for our last game of 2022, and thank fuck it’s over. 7 wins in the calendar year makes it our worst in history, even if we do win tonight (which we won’t) that record still stands.

Looking at your record so far this season and knowing you beat us already this season makes me worried about tonight

That was our last win!

I wouldn’t worry too much, if you score a goal we won’t have an answer to it.

Looking at our goal scoring record this season that’s easier said than done.

Tonight is going to be entertaining….

Some strange decisions for us tonight. Could either be a masterclass or a disaster but I'm leaning to the latter.

I think us, Bradford and Mansfield are being hugely shortchanged by management. Who’s going to blink first and jettison their manager?

Can chuck us in with that too, Harris’s previous job was top end championship.

Yeah, but from what I gather he hasn’t had much backing. We’ve all had plenty, relatively, yet still totally unconvincing.
