We have just had the bizarre and ridiculous situation of a golfer, Alexi Thompson, being penalised four shots and effectively losing a tournament, because a TV viewer noticed and complained that they misplaced their ball.

This situation is plain stupid, but it got me mischiefly thinking which one decision (or non-decision) by a team of officials at a match this season do you wish you had had the power to email in and have a retrospective penalty apply, why and what would your penalty be?

I actually think ours was Saturday against Exeter - a soft penalty that was given by a poor ref which ended our season with one decision.

We'd have only been 2 points away still from the playoffs while keeping Exeter close to us.

Like any decent ref that could official, he'd have given the correct decision of a goalkick rather than a penalty from about 25 yards away when he was completely unsighted

Having missed 7 of 8 penalties this season, I'd have each of those decisions reversed to save us the humiliation.

Just had a look at some penalty stats as I couldn't remember if we'd had any this season, but we've had 3 apparently (second lowest in the league). On the other hand we've conceded 11.

The only incident I remember was against Portsmouth a few weeks ago when we were denied a penalty at 0-0 for a blatant handball.

Newport have somehow conceded 19 penalties apparently, surely that's not right?

Yep that's right. Might even be 20. Then again if you spend more time defending your own box than attacking the oppositions like do ....
The cheating twat at Luton would be a good place to start if we could reverse a decision. We've been on the receiving end of some shocking decisions this season.
How the ref missed a Morecambe hand ball at Dave god only knows - the fella must have got confused with the line markings as he called for a mark.

To be fair, he slid in from behind, took the man, didnt get the ball. Compared to some of the pens we've had given against us it was stonewall.

There's no denying it was a daft and silly decision from him to make that challenge when he did as it was risky. However, he got the ball.

No sour grapes against you or anything as mentioned in the thread.

Not this season, but the moronic call by whoever runs the FA's so called "fit and proper persons test" for allowing bechettti within 10 miles of a football club.

We'll be feeling the effects of that for years.

On the pitch? Anything by Trevor Kettle.
