Happily take that, excellent start and really good performance. Mark Bonner is a genius, we had so much depth on the bench.

First half as I say we played well but that second half was a capitulation. Well done to Barnsley but needs a big response starting with Fleetwood in midweek and then Reading next Saturday.

Get in!! Didn’t go so was refreshing the score every second once I saw that there was 11 minutes added… gonna be a stressful season with that new rule.

Apparently we played well and we actually look to play on the front foot and keep possession this season unlike under Cotterill. Can’t remember the last time we had more possession than our opponents so that’s positive as well as the result.

Good start to the season, time to crack open a beer. Happy Saturday, it’s back!

3-0 win over Lincoln.

Comfortable as you like, we didn’t need to get out of second gear.

Bodes well.

45 more games like that please.

Yep Barnsley took full advantage but we were asking for trouble playing the same back 3 as last year, having conceded 70+ goals. The team that started seemed overly cautious and we rightly got our arse handed to us. Although it's only the 1st game of the season, I feel this will take a lot of recovering from. The new players didn't look an upgrade on Worrall or Pett.

I feel sorry for Crosby as he's clearly a decent bloke but without over reacting he looks like he's been sold some duds by the recruitment team and it does smack of the cheap option.

Not even sure where you can start with that. Dominant first half but the second half we just capitulated, not one of the goals what’s down to quantity but absolutely car crash defending. The free headers with no one within 10 yards is criminal.

Only saving grace is our new centre halves missed today so was last seasons defence and we know that was bad but we need to get it sorted sharpish. They weren’t very good yet we’ve lost to them 7-0 which is embarrassing in any game but in that was unforgivable.

Big week ahead, if Andy Carroll is still at Reading he will be tugging himself silly watching that defending today.

1-1 draw was a fair result in the end. Left it late for our equaliser. Whyte and Scully aren't quite there yet, but Mousinho made full use of our attacking depth from the bench.

Not perfect but we should improve a few games in.

I backed Bolton on my league outright bets. A comfortable win against an improved Lincoln augers well for me.

Good point away at Carlisle and an improvement on last year's opening day result. A draw looked a fair result, and hopefully the injuries a number of Fleetwood players picked up won't keep them out for long. A long season ahead for all of us, wish Carlisle a good one and for both our sakes we are still playing each other in league 1 next season

I have to be honest. I did not see that coming. We were the better team, significantly so, first half and then the third goal we've just given up.
You have made me chuckle since you gey promoted last season................12 months ago the top ten were shit

One game this season you was the better team after you lose 7-0

Yes i get the stats say you did not deserve that sort of score, but its 5/10% quality in this league that will impact games that lge 2 simply do not have

First half, we were undeservedly behind.

Second was an abomination and Barnsley ripped us to shreds. I left after the 6th so can't comment on the rest of the game. Devante Cole always fucking scores against us though. Can't do anything but credit Barnsley though. You don't win 7-0 by luck. Yes, we were diabolical for the 20 minutes of the second half I saw, but they cut through us time and time again with ease. So fair play there. No gripes this end.

As for Carver, shut the fuck up, you utter fucking reprobate.

Agree a draw was fair. Thought we definitely looked more dangerous in attack, but were more our own enemy then you threatening us - basically just poor passing out from the back.

I was worried without Barton there we’d come out and be tactically inferior and that’s exactly what happened. 2 ok teams out there today and both that have a solid amount of work to do still.

What was up with the atmosphere today though, seemed flatter than usual?

Denzil......hold my hands up, enjoy tonight
No worries Masi, it's all good banter and a long way to go (though the BBC has us above you for some reason )

Won 1-0 at Northampton. First time we've ever won at Sixfields, great result. Was a poor quality game in truth, matched the weather.

First half Northampton were the better side, they fashioned two very good chances, the first as a result of some sloppy defending and the second a decent forward ball, both chances bouncing back off the woodwork. Not much else worth noting.

Second half we improved, didn't create too much but just felt like we were in control, defensively sound and looked more likely to do something. With 10 minutes to play, Piergianni opened the scoring, picking up were he left off last season. Decent ball into the box, think it got some sort of touch on it's way through, Burge made a great save to keep it out but Piergianni was on hand to put in the rebound despite the defenders best efforts to block it on the line.

Roberts could have made it two but a great save from Burge kept it at 1-0. Despite the 14(!) added minutes we saw it out quite comfortably in the end.

Bitterly disappointed not to win today. It was an even game but we missed 2 easy chances to get the winner.

It’s going to be a long hard season and our forward options look weaker than last year, but I still have faith in Simpson to keep us up.

Always a tough opener at Bolton. As soon as i saw we'd gone a goal down early, sadly we were never getting back into it. As straightforward a home win as you'd like if you were a Bolton fan. Onto game two!

Relegated Cambridge earn a nice 3 points against play off hopefuls Oxford.

With this squad and Bonner at the helm I would suggest a lot of you have got it wrong. Have a good evening chaps.

Pretty standard 2-0 win tbh. Oxford weren't particularly bad either, it just never seemed that likely it would go their way.

If our players have a bit more luck with fitness this season then we should be a bit more comfortable than last season. When everyone is fit its not a bad team at all.

Exactly how I saw it. I will say we should have had a penalty at the end of the first half, bang in line with it and Sowerby gets there first and the keeper takes him down.

Our squad also coming back from that long injury list last year and it showed as we faded pretty early in the second half. Think it’ll be a slow start for us.

Age old story though, don’t take your chances you’ll get punished.

Also, interested to see how much added on time we all had today?

First half - 8 mins
Second half - 14 mins

Felt like they’d gone too far the other way with it and there weren’t really any stoppages to speak of yet they still found 14 minutes

It was only 6 and 4 for us today, though the 6 was probably more like 7. There wasn't really many stoppages or that much obvious time wasting so that probably helped.

I think we'll be ok, just need to be more clinical and not give too many easy chances away.
