Epitome of a shithouse performance from Preston, that's them and Burton both to have come and done it, the frustrating part is the referees allowing it. The ref tonight was telling players to hurry up and stop time wasting after 20 minutes but never produced a card to stop it and bought everything Preston were selling. Not having a go at Preston, came to do a job and executed it so fair play to them. I have no idea why we abandoned our normal tactics and just played shite route one to Djuric where he'd either not win it or if he did we wouldn't win the second ball.

Well that was fucking terrible. Completely disjointed, and we looked like we thought we only had to turn up to win.

Anyone know why LJ took Milan off for Pack? And no idea why Leko wasn’t brought on ahead of Eliasson.

Some of the time wasting by PNE was fucking embarrassing mind.

Extra body in the middle to match Preston up, also so that we couldn't just lump aimless long balls forward to him and try to encourage us to play. Good thing he did bring Eliasson on he looked lively when he came on and beat his man a number of times. Leko hasn't been to standard in his recent appearances.

I know it sounds silly but maybe little Lee was outdone tonight and the route one football might have been down to a high press?

The high press did stop our ability to play out from the back, but in his interview after the team plan was supposed to be as normal and not route one. 11 professionals should be able to see when its not working going long every time given they seem to be the ones who decided to play that way.

If a team is pressing and stopping you playing out from the back, what other option have you got but to go long? Lee Johnson should have had a plan b to combat a high press (picking up second balls). He didn't because Alex Neil out thought him tactically.

I'm saying this having only listened to the game so may be completely wrong.

You put two strikers up by our centre backs who were around the corners of the box, we should have brought the full backs back as well and had 4 options to play out to, if Preston put a couple more forward to stop us then playing long leaves less Preston players and start having more chance of winning the ball up the pitch.

It wasn't even that, the ball went into midfield and we had fuck all infront of it, so they ended up coming deep to collect the ball which made things even worse. Your press wasn't even that high, your shape was effective as you'd expect from a Preston side and you were slick on the break.

It was a good away performance, we should've had Taylor on though for his movement not Djuric.

I wasn't at either game but by the sounds of it, it was like your performance at Hillsborough but with the winning goals attached?

Despite our recent record against you, that's a brilliant result given your form and hopefully combined with getting a few players back from injury we can start to kick on again.

I really do think Ben Davies has been a massive miss for us and by the sounds of it Fisher had a good game?

I was at both games, we played exactly the same way City did at Wednesday (with a lot more timewasting and fake injuries) but we did it more effectively.

Just got home and still buzzing. Absolutely love it when we shithouse like that, first time we've done it under Neil.

Totally agree with you about Ben Davies, he was absolutely class tonight again and my man of the match. Fisher a close second. Hugill worked his bollocks off as per usual and was involved in both goals.

Need to stick with this back four for as long as injury/ suspension allows. Fisher and Davies make a massive difference.

I'm not a fan of Lee Johnson but fair play, he was very humble in his comments last night.

Thought fisher was excellent last night. Davies was decent too, think it was him that blocked 2 of flints goal bound efforts off the line.

As for us, we had a really bad off day last night.. to many players weren't at it at all and we looked flat as fuck. Bailey can do a job at right back but we massively miss Pisano... Bryan played his worst game of the season too.

A creative cm in January should be top of the priority list, followed by a right back as he clearly doesn't think vyner is ready yet.

Cracking win that and hopefully sees the back of our horrid form and such bad luck with injuries.

People on PNEONLINE piss me right off with there negativity of the last couple of months. I have never known a injury crisis like that. 8 defenders at one point all out meaning Alan Browne had to play centre back against Aston Villa. Ridiculous.

Which team wouldn't struggle with that?! Onwards on upwards

Yeah basically, you took your chances, we didn't. Maxwell, Fisher and Davies were outstanding.

Oh yeah forgot to say, that save from Maxwell at 2-0, think it was from Eliasson was ridiculous.

I've never seen anyone move as majestically as Tom did yesterday as he was steaming towards the pitch after Robbos goal
