I am currently going through the process of looking for a new car. I have seen one with CarGiant - anyone had much experience buying from a dealer and getting the price down?

I contacted one bloke, agreed a price and was going to go see it on Saturday. But then I got an email saying someone offered more money, so I sold it ... sorry! The bastard.

Any top tips for selling?

Yeah, you must kick a tyre, failure to do so means any purchase or sale is illegal.

Brought a Nissan Qashqai a few months ago. Should've been about £25k but got a bit under £21k as it was pre-registered and the new 66 plates were due out in a month.

Private or from a dealer? I have seen one from a dealer, but I would like to get the price lowered slightly. Trouble is, it is 155 miles away so it is a long way to go if they do not lower the price! I dont want/need finance either, which is what the salesmen thrive off of.

From a dealer. If you go on What car's website they tell you what the list price is and what you should expect to pay to get it. Some companies don't give you much off (Dacia don't give any) Peugeot give loads off.
