I'm overjoyed by the visit of Wycombe again, the fact is they never time waste, dive, cheat, feign injury when the opposition is on the attack etc so I'm looking forward to a free flowing exciting game of football where they won't hoof it up to their fat lump and a scum reject. Gonna be great.

I'm doing our VIP thing this game. So got a buffet lunch before the game and main stand seats (haven't sat there for years). That's about the only excitement I have for this game.

Sadly it looks like Mr Derry won't have joined Gillingham in time to miss the game. The dullest manager in English football hasn't managed to force his move yet which means we're stuck with him.

So if we're 1 down in the first half, expect plenty of huffing and puffing but no creativity at all, plenty of time wasting and a game that finishes after 5pm.

I'd go with the same settled line up personally (injuries pending):

Forde

Halliday
Legge
Taylor
Dunk

Mingoia
Deegan
Maris

Brown

Ibehre
Ikpeazu

Some arguments exist for putting Taft in, Taylor to left back and Dunk further forward instead of Maris. No problem with any of that thinking from me. Just no Elito please.

We'll smash the fuckers. 6-0.

Second year in a row I'm missing Wycombe at home, heartbroken.

1-1, last minute equaliser for Wycombe, Derry charges down the touchline tearing off his coat to reveal a Gillingham shirt, I win £65, EAW.

We shall defend our abbey, whatever the cost maybe(£20 odd for the bloody main stand) we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight in the tunnel, we shall fight on the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills(yes I know Cambridge is flat as a pancake) we shall never surrender!!!

This is what we're up against this week end, I fecking hate y com be and their antics, play acting, time wasting and everything else that comes with ainsworth and his bunch cretins.

Derrys plea to gillingham to come and get me will hopefully happen after this game.

We'll beat 'em this time, so heed Arbury's advice and KTF.

I'm sure Derry will play Elito and rightly so IMO, and I say IMO only because there's a good chance I'm going blind seeing nearly all my fellow U's don't rate him. Then I'm equally sure he will take him off - whether he's having a good game or not doesn't matter at all to Derry - at circa 70 mins and put on Brown.

Having not had the delights of playing Wicum recently I had no idea of their (alleged) tactics. I'll be sure to lubricate my vocal chords for their visit later this month.

To negate their infamous tactics, all we've got to do is score first and stay in the lead. Is that too much to ask from a sauce heavy forward line of Ibehre, Ikpeazu and Brown? Supplied by the magic of Mingoia? Backed up by the blessed Melito? With the Triumvirate of Forde, Legge and Deegan ready to battle the warrior Akinfenwa? I suggest not.

99120101177_TriumvirateofthePrimarch01.jpg

With both Arbury and Laker in the main stand, along with the likes of Vess and his posse, surely there's some scope for a word or two in both managers' ears? Most of us seem to be doing something different to take our mind off the prospect of more L2 spam from High Wycombe. Tom's even headed to Poland to watch motor bikes drive around in circles. I'm hoping to have my first Thai Curry of the season at the Wrestlers.

I predict a draw, hope for a win and fear a disappointment - it must be saturday at the Abbey.

You'll certainly see some goals but for who is anyone's guess,we're top scorers in TFL with 22 goals but have let in 17,unbeaten away since February and after 3 wins on the bounce confidence is high amongst Wycombe fans which means we'll probably fuck up big time. No injuries to players that matter just the bench warmers so up front will be Nathan Tyson,Craig Mackail-Smith and The Beast who have all been on good form lately.

Alan, I'm curious. Have you ever sat down in the Main Stand ever since you started following us? Something tells me you haven't!

Personally I'm not fussy at all when choosing stands, but since I prefer standing, than the Habbin and the NRE are my first choices. I've been to the Main Stand on several occasions and while the view of the unfolding action is definitely better, the prospect of sitting down for two hours doesn't appeal to me that much. BUT there's one thing I can't stand and that is when I find myself a good place in the Habbin/NRE and somebody keeps staring and/or standing too close to me, because I'm most likely taking his spot. AFAIC, this 'that's my spot mate' belief carries no weight at all. If you want a reserved spot then get yourself a ST for the Main Stand.

Aside from Trophy games and friendlies (a few each season over the years, when the Habbin has been closed), I think I've only sat in the Main Stand once for a proper game since I moved from the NRE (when they moved the pitch towards the South Stand in preparation for the new hotel, etc.). My ex-boss/director asked if I could get tickets for ManUre and I laughed and suggested she ought to cut her teeth on a proper match first - she took me up and I took her and her other half to the Accrington match that season.

The view was good - just in front of the media seats as my mate Mike (who also worked for her) often does the descriptive commentary for blind fans. The company and atmosphere were less inspiring. My other main criticicism of the main stand is, whenever I've been there, I always seem to have the sun setting directly in my eyes over the South Habbin - great for photos or if the match is terrible but an irritant if you're always having to shade your eyes (memories of Club Wembley level and a match where I was happy to be shading my eyes).

When they eventually develop the "New Habbin," I doubt I'll want a seat there - I guess I'll have moved to the new NRE terrace or maybe I'll invest in a box on the Habbin and see how the other half lives.

Terrace etiquette at L2 level is a whole research project waiting to happen. You're too sensitive. My main issue on the Habbin is the 6ft plus incomers who insert themselves in front of us. Not a direct problem for me (I'm 6ft) but I shuffle around to give shorter companions a decent view - which has knock on impacts on some of the ladies and shorter folk behind us, who've settled into their place on the basis that It's not behind me.

Sometimes have that problem in the WRE, and I'm a bit of a short-arse. There is a railing about every five or six steps and naturally most people like myself position themselves just behind a railing so they can lean on it. There's plenty of room but occasionally a tall guy comes in and inexplicably stands himself right in front of my railing, with nothing to lean on, even though he could just take a few steps forward and be much more comfortable.

We seem to be getting too much into smug self-satisfied mode as a club at the moment in terms of our progress and that we're starting to bag a few goals (as alien a concept to us as fair play).

So I think sooner or later a game comes along and slaps you round the face and reminds you to take nothing for granted - this could be the one. 3-1 CUFC

Rumour going round that our right back Michael Harriman has broken his leg in training hope it's bullshit as he's having a brilliant season. :( If true Sido Jombati will replace him who isn't as good but at least he's entertaining

Oh crap broken leg confirmed and he'll be out for around 4 months after having an op. Jombati as i thought takes his place in the only change from last weeks win at home to Barnet.

DERRY OUT NOW. Please do fuck off to Kent asap.

Why we're struggling to score when we have Uche (poor match today), Jabo (same) and Sir Melito (MOM for me) playing up front for us is beyond me. Changes have to be made at the back too asap, but I've already said a lot about this.

Yep, two excellent strikes. You were so much better than us today it was almost like we were playing a top L1 side, and that's what I don't accept, as there shouldn't be that big a difference between two L2 sides. This league ain't the PL where there is quite a huge gulf in quality between say Man U and Bournemouth.

Don't get me wrong, I rate your side and imo you are definitely a top 4/7 side, but we sure made you look a lot better than you really are and that's the thing that really bothers me. IMO, we've got a much better squad than recent performances suggest, and the blame lies at Derry's door as he's the one who's not getting the best out of them.

Oh give me sec while I switch the radio off as I just can't listen to Derry anymore.

That's 4 League wins on the bounce i can't remember the last time that happened,Exeter at home next week i'd be happy with a point tbh.
Vanni i listened to the game and it seemed you were better than us in the first half and Wycombe had the better of the second,i crapped myself when Bean gave away a penalty at 2-0 i though we were gonna fuck up another 2 goal lead.

17.01. My prediction was right. But not all Wycombe's fault.

More to come later when I've rationalised what the fuck just happened.

Wycombe were the better team, not just in their finishing. Everyone knew what was coming and it came, including the refereeing. Some stupid petty yellow cards - I thought we were getting better that that but they got under our skins, just as we knew they would.

Vanni is in great and select company, as Derry seems to be the only other one in the Abbey who rates the blessed Medy Elito as highly as him and considers Jevani as only appropriate to turn out in the Checkafraud Trophy.

Looking forward to a month away from this in the South African sun but that's still requires a further month's suffering. On to Sincil Bank and that sodding air raid siren.

I'm assuming I wasn't the only u bored yesterday? We all know how Wycombe are going to play but it does seem like it's all new for Derry, his brand of football has really sucked any enjoyment out of it for me, think I'm going to give his football a miss for a while, we've just become this baron football club.

As for the game, Wycombe were fully deserved winners and scored a couple of very good goals, I can't stand their antics but it gets them results which at the end of the day is all that matters, think I hate Saunders just as much as ainsworth, or perhaps I just hate grown men with long hair!

I don't get why Derry continues to play elito behind jabo and uche, it's got to be Maris their, surely I can't be the only one to realise this? Also where the fuck has brown gone? id rather brown in behind rather than elito think I'll miss another one on one!!

Bye Shaun, please.
So long as it's not "Hello Justin."

We'll all look out for Shaun in the stand at Gillingham today, with our fingers crossed.

I'm also am beginning to hope that he'll go and not have to be pushed. We can't be considering running down his contract can we? However

It's almost like you could do with a supremely talented, Irish bruiser up top.

Sorry Vanni and Habbinalan
:)
Back in your cage and take the leprechaun with you. I put my gas mask away when you got promoted.

Oh for a manager who's name rhymes with Ronson.

I thought the guys second yellow card was harsh, the ball gets put past him and there is no way he can get himself out of the way there IMO.

What utter bollocks! Had that been a player doing the same to a Grimsby player are you telling me you wouldn't have called for a sending off? Of course you would and rightly so.
