Well. Nobody else can be bothered to start a Luton match thread these days - until the day itself - so............

I hope some of our Squad and Management have or are having sleepless nights. We have the promise and potential and probably most of the ingredients................but can't put it together.

Tricky match against a side who are decimated by injuries it seems, but have still stayed on the periphery of the play offs for a while with a decent run considering. I'm fully expecting the worst. Haven't even bothered to tune into the last two games while on holiday in Panama, so missing my usual dose of masochism so will tune in this weekend.

Sort of regretting buying a ticket for this a month or so ago, last few results have left me feeling really down about us as we aren't learning lessons. Football has also been largely dull which doesn't help.

I'd say a 1-1 is almost nailed on here.

I think it's been quite remarkable that we've managed to stay in touch despite having so many key players out, but we are sliding out of it now. Tomorrow is pretty much all or nothing for me - if we win we can go within two points of you, but if we lose then we'll likely be too far adrift of the play-offs with some more tough games coming up.

I just want to see us go out and give it a real good go. If we take the game to Luton and play with attacking intent but it isn't to be then at least we'll have tried. No point being overly cautious when we're not expected to make it this season anymore.

No Hylton in the squad!!

Revise my 1-1 down to a 1-0 defeat, we will struggle to score here I think without him.

Luton 1-0 down after 4 minutes against a Colchester team without 9 first teamers.

And a grand total of 0 shots in the first 30 minutes...

Well I couldn't get to this game, but listening online - sounds like one of the worst halves of the season for Luton? Doesn't sound like we've been a threat at all and lessons just simply aren't being learned.

Absolute shite.

Worst I've seen us play in quite some time, every time a cross comes in looks like we are going to concede, free runners from corners all over the place and to top it all we barely kept the ball first 30 minutes. Keeping it a bit better now but it's all sideways and back.

All the very worst of us under Jones leadership being shown here so far. Diabolical.

Conceding from free headers to big strikers - have I not heard that somewhere before this season?!

Feel for Jake Gray little here, thw treatment of him has been awful. Been hauled off here again (could have been anyone to be fair weve been that poor) and now sitting on his own on the bench at half time, nobody consoling him or anything.

Don't see his coming back from this, kids confidence must be on the floor

He and Jordan Cook are very similar players. One is 21 years old (circa) and the other 27-28. In other words, 1 is learning and the other should be at the peak of his career.

Cook opitimises what is wrong with this team at the moment, because week after week he is not turning up.

1,775 Luton fans in attendance for such a poor performance.

Luton's going to miss the playoffs again aren't we. I still believe Jones has what it takes to be a good manager but missing he playoffs again would make this a massive failure of a season.

Olly Lee, a "game changer" on to save the day once again.

Isaac Vassell with his 10th of the season - 90 seconds to go.

Little bit better second half, to be fair could we have been worse!

Had a couple of half chances and scrambles but nowhere near enough. Olly Lee got absolutely pelted when he came on which was amusing.

Worth stating that Vassell is the only one to come out of today with any credit. Worked hard and deserved his goal.

Everyone else...

Blackpool up next for you lot doesn't help things at all. But, on the positive side, two other challengers for the play offs face each other, Mansfield and Exeter, while Carlisle got a tough match at Yeovil, though I'd be more worried about Colchester than Carlisle right now. Wycombe too, as they have an easy three points on Saturday.

edit - Top 3 may be gone for Luton, but I just had a little look at their remaining fixtures, and I'll be very surprised if they don't make the top 7. Just the one game against a fellow play off contender after the Blackpool game, Mansfield, and at least on paper, 2 or 3 very winnable games. 3 wins and a couple of draws should be enough I reckon.

First half was alright but we seem to have a tendency recently where we drop off after the break and sit back. Rode our luck too often after the break.

This is exactly how I feel about Gray. Sure he hasn't been fantastic when he has played but he has done more than Cook has IMO who is seemingly an automatic choice.

But he gets dropped and then expected to immediately perform after 4/5 games out of the side. Feel we should be treating young players better than that and I really felt for the kid at half time today just sitting there completely alone and disconsolate.

Worst fears sadly confirmed. Think missing out on play offs could be a blessing in disguise. God help us if we go on a run paper over the cracks and win the play offs

Not sure about that Belize. Miss the playoffs and we're staring down the barrel of starting again which isn't the way forward IMO. ( except with the midfield!!!!)

Judging from what I was hearing today amongst the crowd, fail to beat Blackpool people are going to turn on Jones. The seeds of it where there today and the chanting about Lee is the start. He is the scapegoat at the moment, will be Jones soon enough.

I really do like Jones, but he's his own worst enemy sometimes. He's made some baffling selection choices this season - I remember the Crawley (A) game when he dropped both the front two which spectacularly backfired.

He calls his substitutes "game changers" - yet the last 2-3 games he's brought on Olly Lee as the last sub when chasing a win - he is not a game changer.

The worst thing though that frustrates me more than anything is the lack of motivation and desire in that team. I can forgive lack of ability, but attitude is a prerequisite. If it was a team at the wrong end of the table, it could be slightly understood, but that is unforgivable in the situation.

13 points required to make the play offs IMO from our last 7 games, which should be very get-able. On current form, that's still going to be pretty tight.
