We're certainly going to need a breakdown of that McCallum deal, just to check everything is legal and above board.

To the nearest sausage roll will do.
Sausage roll sales... dunno too much as the local High School you buy em off, the landlords will tell you. As always. tenants never realize or even understand the value of ownership.

Either way its massive, cannot deny we have had some great investment in the last twelve months. Our squad is still small and has lost Yussuf and Hylton (who I rated more) but to bring in a player from 150 miles away and a team that drawfed us two years ago is quite a coup.
Sorry if you dont like it, I still think our accounts since promotion wont look silly bankrolled, but we are doing extra ground works now. Dont expect anything too fancy i guess, but better than you saw when first you visited.
banter aside. Wrexham fans must have the best handle on this question...
Is it going somewhere? Sure you have seen it many times before, how does it look? Still tinpot or a decent threat next season?

Now up to five arrivals this summer.
Adding Chris Bush to the list of Clifton, Cheek, Kizzie & Bingham.
Only expect one more and that’s between the sticks.
Are you not gonna be looking at signing JJ Hooper permanently after we released him?

Our wage bill must be really rising now. Plenty of interest from football league clubs. The yussuf sale is a weird one, a bit like when Asante left us to Grimsby. Have a good goal record but not actually starting every week.
Asante never got a fair chance here to be fair to him, another one that Slade shipped off before he could really show what he could do.

there have been many teams that have spent big and fallen on their arse. You did well to flip a relegation season into a promotion threat the following year. a good run in the FA cup also helps.

ultimately if you dont have a big turnaround of players then there is no reason why you cant follow on. although there is also the potential threat of players having the blues after failing to get promoted. that certainly happened to us after our 98 point season. same player base but just wasnt the same

We're going back 4 years now when he was with us but Chris Bush looked like he would be more comfortable playing American Football than actual football.

I really didn't see McCallum signing for you lot, but he should be a good addition as I think his game suits how you play, I also think he's a better all round player than Yussuf. You definitely look a threat for next season.

I'd you fail to achieve promotion in the next season or two (and we all know how there are no guarantees in this league) how will this level of expenditure leave you? I must say I know next to nothing about Solihulls ownership

He would have fitted in great to your team last season then. :bg:

Ryan Sellers has gone back to Wealdstone after a year with us. Got some undeserved stick at times from our fans, and whilst he was probably the weakest of our starting XI, was nowhere near half as bad as some were making out, certainly preferred him to Joe Skarz. Good luck to Sellers, should be one of the better left backs in the Conference South.

I'd agree with that. Wasn't massively keen on either of our left backs and with Skarz going back to Bury it leaves us with none now. Tough to find good left backs at this level. Be interesting to see who we bring in

I notice Jermaine Hylton has signed for Motherwell. Thought he might end up at another national league team

Another departure for us, Matty Kosylo has joined Fylde. Honestly, I’m not as fussed as I thought I would be about losing him. On his day one of the best players in the league, but the day didn’t come around too often and he’s still obsessed with trying to start a fight every five minutes. There were 6/7 Shaymen who had better seasons than Kosylo for me, although if he keeps his head screwed on & if Fylde play to his strengths you’ve got a proper player.

Jack Senior is a Halifax lad, spent back end of last season on loan at Harrogate, started in the playoffs and has been released by Luton, could be the player to fill that gap I reckon.

I'd echo this. If they can control his temperament, they've got one of the best players in the league. He struggled in our defensive minded tactics. Think he will flourish at Fylde

We've signed Armani Little from Oxford United, spent the whole season on loan with Woking and was one of their best players. Very happy with that!

Kosylo has never impressed me much when we’ve played against him. Tricky feet, but easily knocked over by the wind. Having said that, he uses his mouth more than his feet during every game I’ve seen. Looks a frustrating player.

Solihull definitely looking good, although losing Hylton could be a blow. I don’t really know how good McCallum is because he looked pretty poor against us in the play offs, but I suppose his goal tally says something. Unless he’s one of those one season wonders..
I’d expect them to lose one of their centre halves though, I’d be surprised if they weren’t tempted by a bigger/higher club if they came calling.

Reece Hackett-Fairchild has signed for us permanently from Charlton. Was on loan last season, quality player.

Very happy with this deal. Seeing him play against us, I feel he will suit how we play and vise versa.

Chally has a good record of getting the best out of players. Worth the gamble and personally I think it will work

Time will only tell.

Are we going to sign a really good centre mid?

Losing Hylton and Yussuf is a blow, not too bothered about Yussuf (even if he was our top scorer) but Hylon playing in the SPL is a deserved step up, good luck to him, impossible to replace like for like in this league. Know little about McCallum but to pinch one of the leagues top scorers looks great on the surface.
As for our centre backs, Daly left for Kiddy to go pro and came back a month later, he is Moors through and through. Gudger had a superb season, will take a good offer from a L2 side willing to go out for a 26 years old with only one season at step 5 but could happen.
We still have a small squad, so lets see what happens.

I would imagine so. I highly expect Bondy to go Chorley. But then with Montrose getting fit, it will be like a new signing. Personally I see Montrose and Croasdale holding with Haughton in the attacking centre mid. But we definitely need more depth

God I hope we don't get Bond, had him before, we don't need his type in our dressing room. Arsehole.

There seem to be a shed load of "Halifax lads" at L1, L2 and National league level, who've never been near The Shay on their career path. The club has to do better to make itself at least the starting blocks for these players.

if Halifax is anything like North Wales, all the players get sucked up by the Prem team academies at an early age and bypass the grass root levels before being thrown back in at 17-18

it takes a brave youth to reject joining Liverpool or Evertons academies in favour of say Wrexham or TNS

When he's hot, he's white hot, when he's not, he's crap. Undoubtedly the right time to leave, but could have done a lot better than a Mickey Mouse outfit like Fylde. Thought Wrexham might have been in for him. :bdick:

That's true, Man U and Man C are only 30 minutes away along the M62
