Couple of fortunate 1-0's gave us maximum points from our meetings last year, hopefully won't see such shithouse performances this time out.

We're still finding our feet, not sure about you boys. Sounded like you weren't too clever midweek. I think it's a good time to play us so wouldn't be surprised if we lost.

Hopefully Huddlestone is back, if not I fear for us as we look ragged with Ledley at CDM.

Can't call this one, draw would be good.

I'd go:

Rudd
Fisher, Huntington, Davies, Hughes
Pearson, Johnson
Burke, Browne, Robinson
Nmecha
Wouldn't shock me if Neil drooped Fisher and put Clarke at right back, wasn't happy with him on Wednesday.

Lawrence will do fuck all and score a worldy as per.

Pearson, Ledson
Burke, Harrop, Robinson
Nmecha
Browne injured?

You would have to be a fucking idiot to want Rudd in ahead of Maxwell.

We’re fucking shite and look like we’ve completely run out of ideas going forward. Not been this apathetic about North End since the Westley days, no word of a lie

You just cannot rely on a 19yr old to lead the line at this level. As an option off the bench or out wide, great but an experienced striker signing this week is paramount. Not replacing Hugill is criminal.

Rudd also cost us today, Maxwell needs to return. Not all on him though, it was an awful second half and confidence looks low with no focal point up top.

Only just caught the game, another slow first half but liked what I saw in the second. Good win, shame about Bogle going off.

Topped off a good day at the Ebor yesterday.

Cliche. You can if he's good enough.

Don't agree, not week in, week out. Abraham scored goals for you but you finished where?

Yes, week in week out. He scored 26 goals for us, we relied on him to keep us up. What you said is an awful cliche/myth, if you're good enough you're old enough.

The aim for us isn't survival, a 19yr old is just not physical/ savvy enough to lead the line in such a physical league if you have ambitions for top 6.

If you're playing with a spare man and just want a poacher who offers nothing else then fair enough, but the rest of your team will have to be very good.

How many teenagers are leading the line as a lone striker at Premier League/ European level?

Yes he is, you're seriously chatting bollocks. Reading finished 3rd with Kermorgant leading their line, Derby with Cameron Jerome, Huddersfield with Quaner - you're telling me Abraham couldn't do it just because of his age?

Complete myth, he's about 6"5 and built well also so the physical comment is nonsense.

Mbappe is 19, wouldn't be any good for Preston in their bid for the top six though.

Mbappe? What a ridiculous and extreme example. He also doesn't lead the line for PSG.

Lets stick to being realistic shall we, Nmecha is obviously a talent but hes inexperienced and can't be relied on week in, week out. Which is the point here, if we had an 18yr old Wayne Rooney then thats another matter, but this is the Championship.

Abraham was good and scored goals but I saw him play a few times when he didn't turn up and you had no plan B. If you had that Plan B then you may have challenged for top 6. He wasn't physical either, despite his height.

In comparison to players like Hugill & Gestede then no he isn't, he held his own well enough but he's not going to bully anyone. Certainly didnt give Huntington or Clarke any problems on that front.

Hence why you could have done with an experienced and physical option if you wanted to be successful.

What you mean like Aaron Wilbraham? Yeah, we did have an experienced physical option, we weren't successful because of our back line, not because we had the second best striker in the league at age 19.

I mean a good option...

Point stands though, we can't rely on a 19yr old week in week out if we have any ambitions this season. We don't throw around £1m+ loan fees so experience is needed.

Wilbraham scored 10 in his first year up here for us and wasn't starting every week. Good player, was better than Garner who you'd happily suck off.
