You'd think that the small club would approach the huge club here and ask nicely if they could play the fixture at the huge clubs ground in return for the gate receipts.

Just saying.

Grimsby would never play away in that case

They were on here telling everyone how big they were , and were a bit miffed when 'little' Hartlepool signed a couple of thier players , so they must be big .....

Not sure if Accrington have been creative with their sums when reported away attendances but the highest away attendance at the crown ground for each season is

2015/6. Luton 1175
2014/5 Tranmere 979
2013/4 Rochdale 1078

And Carlisle thought they travelled in big numbers.

Well after all the fuss and complaining we have been sent 800 more. Probably only take that many in total now.

We will take a lot more than 800. We sold out the initial 500 in less than 3 days. They don't go on general sale til next week

I'm expecting around 20k to make the trip, around 4K in the ground & the remainder watching the game beamed onto Accrington town hall
In reality maybe 1000 tops, was looking forward to this until I read about the toilet situation, I'm on an early train so after several beers this could be an uncomfortable afternoon.

Hopefully that light bulb in the away end toilets has finally been fixed!
The Crown Pub is where most away fans go and are welcomed
Enjoy your visit but we could do with the 3 points especially after a mediocre pre-season...

Think 'mediocre' is going to be your watchword this year. Can't see last season's heroics being repeated.

How has Fraser Shaw been getting along so far? Would have kept him as back up myself.

Go on then, go find those posts where we're bragging about how big we are and post them in here. Either you need to go down, or Gateshead need to come up because you're both so deprived of any rivalry that it's almost a bit sad. Some of their fans had a massive boner for us over the last few seasons. Didn't think you lot were gonna take the baton off them, but it looks like you're carrying on their work pretty well.

We also have a player called Brayden Shaw and I keep getting them mixed up. Ive only seen Fraser play one half V Halifax but seemed to play well - has a good throw on him too! I don't like admitting it but I think you're right that it is unlikely we'll do as well as last season - lets hope we're both wrong!!

I liked him as a player. Prone to an error like all inexperienced youngsters, but usually had enough pace to extricate himself from the situation. Needs a fair bit of coaxing to get over the halfway line, but a decent crosser when he does join in.

As for Accy in general, I just think the division has a stronger look about it, and you're probably one of the two challengers from last year (along with Plymouth) who look weaker this time around. You'll be well clear of the drop zone still, though.

Is the fact Accy have bumped the prices up to £20 for one of the most basic terraces in the FL down to the reduced capacity? Seems a shame as it was always a cheap and cheerful trip but £20 for a first round League Cup game on Tuesday is pretty shocking.

We've been given more tickets, the initial allocation was down to policing apparently not Accrington. I agree that £20 for a first round cup game is extortionate

Fair enough. Stupid move from the police if it's forced people to buy tickets for the home end, surely creating more trouble.
