I wonder what the round trip mileage is ? I'm sure we will find out when the media will think it's amazing/funny that two teams from opposite ends of the country are playing each other , realise it's happening ....as it has happened hundreds of times over the last hundred years ....

1 - 1 ......

I fancy 1-1 too.

I'd love Ampadu to get his league debut as I really want to see how he'd cope against a solid L2 team.

Fingers crossed that Holmes will be fit to start plus I'd be keen for David Wheeler to get the nod too as he looked lively on Tuesday.

Hartlepool will be tough opposition I expect and they have some decent forwards who we will need to keep tabs on.

I'd also love to see Ampadu again. Tis isn't stupid, he won't give him too much too soon but is right in what he says, that if he wants to play him, now is the best time, with it being the school holidays.

It'll be a tough test on Saturday. Hartlepool will be a solid enough side this season and they'll be looking for their first win of the season. Have a feeling they'll get it as well.

1-2 Pools.

I know it's early doors, but if we really want to challenge for the play offs this season, this is the sort of game we need to nick a win from.

I think Hignett may opt for 4-4-2 again rather than the more attacking 4-3-3, and hope N Thomas can do some damage on the break. Expect the same line up as the first game (barring any injures)

I'll go 1-0 with a 68th minute Amond goal from a N Thomas cross.

Exeter should be good for at least one goal if Toto plays. :bg:

TOTO had a blinder against North Preston , we have a really good defensive coach , he'll get the best out of him

Toto IS a good defender, no doubt about that, but as you'll come to realise over the season, he always has at least one "heart in mouth" moment each game. He does usually get out of it though, sometimes with the help of a team mate.

Cracking win for us on Saturday that. Nice to see that Hignett can and will change things up when things aren't going our way.

Sounds like we were a little defensive minded first half, and the introduction of Amond at half time gave us a new lease of life and we took control.

Wouldn't say you took control second half. Yes you scored two and Amond missed a great chance but that was down to our ineptitude in defence more than anything. We hit the bar and Watkins missed an absolute sitter towards the end.

That said, thought you were solid and certainly have some good attacking players. Alessandra and Paynter will score a fair few plus Amond and Thomas are good L2 players.

Got to improve big time

Cheers. I would guess it has been 7 seasons since anyone described us as 'solid with good attacking players'. I almost feel like celebrating our play off place already.

It makes it all the sweeter if we didn't have control to be honest. The amount of games last season we controlled for 80 minutes, but lost because we just couldn't score was unreal. Nice that we can scrap a game out and put the ball in the back of the net.

Amond has missed a sitter in each game so far - hopefully once he gets one he will settle down and bang a few more in.

Nah Carlisle vs Plymouth is like a European friendly with you being Scottish and them being from Cornwall....
Hartlepool v Exeter is like one of those games on FIFA where you can pit teams from different eras against each other, with Exeter being from 2016 and Hartlepool from 1973

I can't remember us ever relying on a loan keepers header keeping us in the league. Or us ever being out of the League.

But obviously your superiority shines through....

Sigh...
