So who do we all want?

Not many left flying the flag in league 2.

Another league 2 side at home would be good - especially county so we could get to the 4th round.

Other than that big side away?

Everyone wants United away surely?

Guaranteed 70k+ whoever the oppo. With shared gate receipts that's massive for any club at this level.

I think anyone at our level should be wanting a top 6 premiership side at home and then take them to a replay, bonus cash!

For me the obvious ones, Man U, Liverpool (we seem to have quite a high Liverpool fan base in the are for some reason) Chelsea, Spurs. The only team im not fussed with is Man City, know idea why never really liked them since I started going to football, them and Everton. There’s no reason though!

Derby at home would be decent, I don’t really know of anyone wanting F***** it’s doesnt excite like it used to since they have been stuck in an eternal loop of being poop!

The last 3 times we've got the 3rd round we've had Newcastle, Brighton (before they were good) and Liverpool.

Someone decent again would be nice, for some reason I think we'll get Everton.

A premiership club or someone "meh" at home.

Another. . . . . . banana skin avoided,Sam Saunders free kick that equalized was pure class. QUOTE]
His mocking of the Leatherhead player wasnt though. Neither was getting their player sent off. You really are an unlikeable club.

I edited just before you posted hoping no-one would notice.

They were still at the Withdean - we won 3-2 and got Middlesborough in the 4th round (also the season we were relegated!). It was revenge for them beating us 6-0 in their first ever game there

Liverpool were not very good, Suarez had to score with his hand to beat us.

Hylton got booked for a dive straight after that for what was a clear trip on him, but I guess thats his reputation coming into play!

Quick question - looking at Hylton on Soccerbase, he picked up his 5th booking of the season v Crewe, so how come he wasn't suspended for Gateshead (where he got his 6th). Am I missing something?

Newcastle away.

Any of the big teams away from home.

It'd be just typical we get one of the above and then bottle the replay against Gillingham.

You make it sound like you should definitely be beating us!

We're still favourites to get through realistically, and our away record is far better than home so we're still confident. It's just a game and trip we could absolutely do without.

Given the distance involved and the odds of both teams winning would be about 50/50 (i'd be expecting at least a draw at home to Gillingham) why not just flip a coin?

I doubt there's much between the sides, as it sounded on Saturday, but I obviously meant getting a big draw and then losing the replay would be typical, not to do with expecting to go through.

45% of the gate receipts, but whatever it 'could' be a big payday.

We'll probably get Luton away, that'll be easy! (ahem....)

Fair enough, take your point. Saturday was frustrating really, we had most of the ball but couldn't work the keeper. Final third has been our problem this season, hence where we are in the table. Like I said though, our away results do tend to be better.

Yesterday's game was absolutely bonkers. But brilliant.

Lucky to only be 3-0 down after 20 minutes to Blackburn imploding and Crewe players with heads in hands, gutted not to have won at full time.

It was literally like a training ground game for Blackburn in the first 25 minutes. Not seen such a gutless, inept display from a Crewe side in at least a week, and they were taking no mercy. If the Blackburn players weren't so blatantly involved in a future match fixing scandal, honestly think we'd have conceded 7+.

We should still have won. We put them to the sword and pulled it back to 3-3 then eased off for some reason. Blackburn wanted the replay (huge amount of time wasting from 3-3 onwards) yet we allowed them time and space to attack. If we truly went for it, we'd have won.

Like JJ said though, papers over the cracks. Without Blackburn's dodgy antics, I'm not entirely confident Artell would still have been in the job this morning. It would have been a massive embarrassment. Good to be in the draw though and can only hope if we get a big draw, like one of the top 5 PL teams, it'll see us up our game in the replay. Mind you, the performances can't stoop much fucking lower.

If we win the replay, and I think we will, then I expect a fairly awful draw along the lines of Ipswich away. We haven't had a good cup draw in years.

Wouldn't mind Pep's Citeh tbf, they play very similar football to ourselves, would be a good game to watch with a lot of goals at either end.

In the FA Cup Villa in 2005/06 is about the only decent draw we’ve had since we were in the Championship.

Last year we got Huddersfield Away, a ground we’ve been 10000 times in recent decades and promptly got stuffed, time before that we got Plymouth... beat them into round four to get Brighton at home and go out.

Due a good one but you know we’d lose the replay!

Either end as in one end in the first half and the opposite second half ;)

Yep. :10:

Watching our defence playing at the Etihad would be interesting.

Man City be the worst as they genuinely would even with second string hit any league two side for six or seven.

Saw our U-18s play City U-18s away in the FA Youth Cup semi final (I think) a few years ago. They have their own fecking stadium that is better equipped than most L2 clubs. And won 6-0 without breaking sweat. Didn't quite appreciate the gap until then.
