It's quite simple, your keeper was booked for time wasting in injury time after being told the whole game virtually to get on with it, so the ref added time on, then you made a tactical sub in injury time again to waste time. I think if you hadn't made the sub, you would have won the game.

It's hard luck on Exeter because they did a real job on us and yes I keep on saying this, we were crap at SB yet again in front of the home fans.
Fair enough. I didn't see on our Twitter feed that Pym was booked but it appears he was. Would seem out of character to 'time waste' as we certainly didn't do that on Saturday.
These things always seem to be happening to us this season.

Is there a spawnier side for late goals than Lincoln ?
Guess that's why they are top

Probably us Darren... considering we barely score at all, Morecambe x2, Notts County, Exeter, Carlisle, Cheltenham and Lincoln spring to mind of the top of my head,

We really weren't great today. Players seemed on different wavelengths. Nevertheless we created a plethora of chances and should have put more of them away. Draw probably a fair result. Exeter looked well organised and decent going forward.

#DrawingOurWayToPromotion....... Maybe

Our 93rd minute goal at Lincoln was certainly enjoyable.

In fairness for bury Mansfield and MK that was a good result

Weird game, that was probably our worst home performance of the season in the main, bar a bit at the beginning and the final 20 minutes.

That said, we still created a handful of chances - Pett, McCartan, Akinde all having presentable ones and I've not seen a replay, but the Akinde challenge looks a penalty all day long in real time and the refs words to Cowley were that he hoped the ricochet had gone in so he didn't have a decision to make so he must have bottled that one. The Exeter manager thought it was one, too, and to be fair to him, had no complaints over the additional time either because of the sub and injury in the intial 4 minutes.

Bowman's got to do better with his second half chance but aside from that and the goal, I can't recall much in the way of decent chances for Exeter so in that respect, a draw was probably about right. Exeter controlled the game quite well but weren't particularly threatening whereas when we got on top, we did.

The Akinde penalty shout seemed to spook Exeter because from then on they seemed to drop a little deeper towards their 18 yard line, which is a dangerous game when Rhead's on the pitch as shown for his flick-on for the goal.

Keeps us ticking over (again) and a bizarre mix of still being unbeaten this year but only winning 4 games. And another home draw.

Another team who've come and played 3 or 5 at the back, though. We're not very good up against that because of how structured our play is.

Late goals aren't lucky.

We've actually conceded more late goals than scored this season, so if anything, we're worse off in that respect.

We've been crap in 2019 yet the only side we've lost to is Everton. Seven draws from 10 though...

Draws work to an extent. Think we’ve swapped ideas at the new year, we drew most of our games before NYD, yet drawn only 1 out of 11, now we either win or lose (thankfully more wins)

You lose to forest green though and all of a sudden it becomes a different picture.

I've just seen the highlights of the penalty claim that Lincoln are crying about that they didn't get - The one where their Akinde was offside anyway

Also, turns out we should've had 3 penalties. That free kick Matt Jay scored from was actually in the box and should've been a penalty. Ah well, turned out alright I guess but still.

Pym got booked for time wasting but it's worth noting that was about an extra 5 seconds not an extra 120 seconds lol. Dara O'shea for us was down on the floor, but again - maybe 15-20 seconds? And of course one sub.

This is the second time (Port Vale the other match) the team has scored well after the time allocated.

Can our club give an official statement the FL like Vale have done? That's 4 points dropped.

Yes, 4 minutes is a minimum but I guess it’s annoying when an extra 2 mins is found from extra stoppages in a 4 minute period of injury time. But only 4 minutes of stoppage time was awarded from a whole 45 mins of football in the 2nd half....

Exeter fans still bleat on about this, the time in a minimum, on the day in question their keeper required about 4 minutes of treatment and then the subs, time wasting etc.

An Exeter fan actually watched the half back and accounted for all the time! They even had a minute or so after to miss a sitter too. Have to play until the end.

Just ask notts county fans. 7 minutes allowed there last season, we equalised in the 99th haha

You might be getting mixed up with previous seasons, as this season they've conceded more last gasp winners/equalisers than they've actually scored.
Just the other week they were beating stevenage 2-0 with just a few mins left, and ended up drawing 2-2 thanks to two very late (and very good) goals.

I'm a little disappointed with this thread this morning. I fully expected vitriol from Exeter fans, there is nowhere near enough of it.
Both sides were poor, Exeter slightly better due to their constant closing down, which we appear to have forgotten how to do.
Clear pen on Akinde, even the ref thinks he got it wrong. If that's given, I think we probably win the game, assuming it was converted.
Bleating about the added time is comical. The south-western branch of the Brazilian football school were running down the clock from minute 1. Yes, we all do it, and we should all expect it to bite us on the arse occasionally.

Let's face it, if anyone deserves a bit of bad penalty karma then it's Akinde (pen).

Another valuable point for Limpoln's stumble over the line. Is it a fair comment to say early to mid season Lincoln would have won that?

The ref said after the game it was a penalty and he got it wrong.
He told DC and JA he had hoped JA shot that hit the post had gone in to cover up his mistake.
Granted, it would've been a penalty, if he wasn't offside. Genuine question, do you know anyone watching the game on iFollow as they will back this up, even if it's a Lincoln fan. It was clear and obvious beyond any doubt whatsoever.

Maybe, maybe not (cutting edge insight there!).

Performance wise we've not been great at home most of the season, bar the blitz of Notts and Swindon off the top of my head. Our away record (1st) is more in keeping with our position than our home record (6th) with too many draws (probably only two or three too many).

There's been a definitely been a switch in approach from opponents, though. Most are coming with either 5 at the back or 5 in midfield and looking to stifle rather than play. In that respect, performance wise from us, I don't think things have drastically changed over the course of the season.

Post the video, not a screenshot about 0.5 seconds out of time where Akinde has stepped forward, and lets let our O.F.F companions decide for themselves. Or, did you decide not to do that in the first place because it showed you out to be wrong?

The ball wont be glued to his head for half a second surely thats a spot on screen shot.

The ball isn't touching his head in that screenshot - It's close to contact but it isn't touching. Again screenshots don't do things like this any justice, at least from one still-shot angle. Watch it yourself, he's clearly offside.

I'll post it as I'm sure the Lincoln fans aren't going to.

Linesman didn't give offside and he was pretty keen to give most things.
I was down that end of the ground and it didn't look offside to me, but did to you, were you behind the goal or on the side opposite where I sit?
The ref has said he got wrong, gone now draw onto the next one.

Even at this point, which is way after the ball has gone, the back leg/foot of the defender is playing him onside.

That previous screenshot is the perfect timing of the pass and surely is evidence enough that he's (just) onside.

Yes i think i did you a disservice there. Just seems that way , but as i pointed out late goals aren't luck. A hell of a lot of top sides in all 4 divisions score them, that is the sign of a side going to the whistle.
