Tough away trip.for us to Barrow. Will take a point now as long as we beat Accrington on the Tues.

Need a better first half display than yesterday at Bradford. I fear with those players having a point to prove that we won't get away with a lacklustre performance.

We're a weird team at the minute. Last couple of games we've won, we've rode our luck and quite easily could've lost both of them. Played with a lot of effort and intensity but very little quality.

We don't create a lot (swindon game aside) and have only scored 14 in 13, with 4 of those in one game.

We also have Platt suspended for this one meaning Ash Taylor is likely to start. Couple that with Wrexham being free scoring and I think this is where the run will end and some of our fans are brought back down to reality.

A far from ideal opponent after you've just been hammered by the best side in the league at home.

A fear a new manager will be in place for this one so inevitable new manager bounce will take effect.

So onto Hollywood for us, a fantastic, if somewhat lucky win yesterday has really brought enthusiasm back to the fans. All we’ve really done is play with more aggression and gone back to basics, but we have a good squad so it’s all that was needed. I’ve no doubt the tactics held us back in the end.

The shame is we’ve lost to some absolute dross teams, one of which at least got Hughes sacked so it’s not all bad but we should be easily on 5 or 6 more points. We have however done well against those near the top, winning our last two against teams who were in the playoffs and a win would have seen them into the top 3 and good draws away at Stockport and Mansfield.

We can play against the better teams which is why I’m strangely confident about Saturday, we know how to stop free scouting teams scoring and with how defensively poor they seem I think they’re there to be got at. 3 points and hopefully we’ll know who will be the next manager by then.

We're only free scoring at home, totally different side away.

Our games at home are crazy but away they've all been tight with no more than 2 goals in any of the games apart from the Stockport disaster.

Salford away. Usually do well there. We seem to be playing sides that are just starting to be on the up which is annoying. Need to start picking up wins away and Salford is as good a place to start than any.

Crawley away, hard to know what to expect. They've not beaten anyone decent at home and have lost to Wrexham and Gillingham, which gives me hope. But our away record is still an issue and we've lost control of most of our away games with silly mistakes or poor performances.

Hopefully we can cause them some problems defensively, but I worry about our back line against their attack. Probably going to be another high scoring game. I'm going for 2-2.

Very winnable game for us. This was the ground we broke our horrendous failure to score more than 1 goal in a game run (which lasted about 5 months) last season. We have a decent record at Crawley and I'm sure Jack Powell will be up for this game!

Back us to win this narrowly which will set us up nicely for a huge game vs Stockport on the Tuesday after.

Bradford away. New manager to be coming in this week I reckon, and 3 wins on the trot. As we're away, I feel like we are assured at the back compared to being at home.

Barnett is back after suspension which is a relief, but he's as good as me in defence (ie not very!).

Mullin needs goals again, the chance he had first half yesterday was a banker goal last season, and should have buried it yesterday. Made the equaliser though yesterday so not totally off it.

You would expect Stockport County Football Club to put their foot down and clinch this title from here on in, starting with a beatdown of beleaguered Grimsby.

That's the expectation around Edgeley Park right now.

We now hit the ‘easier’ run in, which usually means very little with Mansfield, next three is FGR at home, Harrogate away (a side we have never beaten) and Walsall home.

Not really sure what to expect from FGR after they battered Colchester.

I wouldn't worry overmuch, most of the faults were still there with two poor sides, we had the rub of the green for once and confidence built so were shading at 11 vs 11 and then their lad got himself sent off right after restart and after second went in they gave up. Some decent forward movement but can't see us competing in midfield or keeping you out at the back. Still, I look forward to being proved wrong and we bang in another five.

I’m already regretting getting a ticket for this but it’s the exact kind of game Hurst somehow gets something from, buying us another 3 months of turgid football.

If he doesn’t though, he must surely be 1 game away from the door

The question is pontoonlew and the majority of the Grimbo fanbase want?

3 points and 3 months of turgid Hirst football

0 points and a new manager being appointed soon after.

You decide.

No way Town should be down in 18th struggling and not enjoying the football

The biggest issue is, I don’t think our owners will actually pull the trigger for a while so I don’t think there’s a dilemma to be had.

I think it’s time for a change, but we might be deep in the shit before that change is made. We’re relying on a guy to turn it around who, in reality, has had one genuinely good season in the EFL in his managerial career.

I think it’s gunna be one of those where Grimsby wants a change and Hurst wants to go, probably be sooner than we think maybe.

Never known us to win down at Gillingham and not expecting us to win on Saturday. I'd be happy with a point and hope we've a few players back.

Wrexham at Valley Parade this weekend.

As mentioned, we’re without Matty Platt due to suspension.

Three consecutive wins in league and cup and all of a sudden the mood around the place is very positive - despite being manager-less.

I think we’ll miss Platt here. Not sure who will get the nod between Ash Taylor, Cieran Kelly and Jon Tomkinson - probably Taylor.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Ash Taylor
CB: Sam Stubbs
LB: Liam Ridehalgh

CM: Ritchie Smallwood
CM: Alex Gilliead

RW: Adam Wilson
AM: Jamie Walker
LW: Bobby Pointon

ST: Andy Cook

Cook is due a goal - so I fancy him to bag. I worry about Taylor at the back, especially against Fletcher and Mullin.

We’re aiming to beat our attendance record for L2 again. Currently stands at 22,576 - set when we played Orient last season. Currently 21,000+ sold.

The return of Parkinson, Hollywood FC and decent form has all the makings for an absolute classic. There won’t be many noisier stadiums than VP this weekend.

Games at field mill have been a tad dull so far in the 6 games (won 3 drawn 3) and only 9 goals in total (scored 7 and conceded 2) 5 of those goals came in the 3-2 win over stockport, meaning we’ve kept 5 clean sheets out of 6, but also had 3 0-0s, so it’s obvious where the problem is.

Hate saying stuff like this but just keep doing what you’ve been doing and you should be fine (now i’ve done it!)

We should have Malone and Alexander back for this so will have our favoured back 4 again.
Still missing Dieng and Hawkins which makes us a little short and soft in my opinion.
Hopefully have a manager in place soon enough to have a decent look at the players and a few days training with them.
Only won one of our last five games so not as confident as I would have been a few weeks back.
Need a response after Saturday’s shitshow.

I think Osadebe will get the nod to start over Wilson.

I agree with the rest of your line-up assuming none are carrying knocks

Is that including our 2754?

What's the away end like? Can you get a beer in there? Excited for this one, very easy to get to as it's a direct train from Chester that was cheap as chips.

Yeah, that’s including your lot.

If you’re behind the goal, no alcohol due to open concourse. You’re fine if you’re in the Midland Road stand.
