The thing that people are overlooking here is could Celtic and Rangers attract players of better quality if they had the money and draw of the premiership?

Well, yes, obviously they could.

But they won't ever go to the Premiership.

Jack Rodwell signed for Man City in the same transfer window as Sinclair. Maybe he should piss off to Scotland to "recapture form earlier in his career" too. He'd probably be an even bigger hit than Sinclair over there.

What is the relevance of any of this post? You are mocking Celtic by saying Sinclair is their best player and he couldn't hack it in the EPL - which isn't strictly true, he did well at Swansea. In the EPL.

And, on a related note, Celtic recently defeated Sunderland 5-0 in a friendly.

According to some posters on here they wouldn't get a single point against teams in the EPL - despite Celtic drawing twice with Man City, one of the leagues best teams, in the Champions League last season.

The things that are being posted on here are in direct contradiction to the available evidence, which isn't surprising at all.

I've seen 42 different Scottish teams attempt to play football. I remember watching Inverness live as a boy. I cried the whole time.

Why he's an alcoholic? Weakness I suppose. Bad genes play a part obviously.

Isn't it more likely down to the SPL being a joke of a league full of shit teams and shit players?

No because they'd have to live in Glasgow.

Really, when and where?

Do you have any evidence that he's an alcoholic or is it just a completely unfounded personal slur against someone you've never met?

You tell me, the SPL hasn't existed since 2013. A rather amusing exposure of your complete ignorance, there.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you've never been to Glasgow.

Obviously, these posts are a witless attempt at humour but ignorance of foreign leagues is a predilection of many English football fans and should be challenged at every available opportunity.

Maybe he should make light of alcoholism again, it gets funnier at the 5th attempt.

Oh look, the deluded Scots have turned up to defend m'ladys honour.

Yet the mighty Celtic have failed to qualify for the several of the last few years of the competition. Losing out to European powerhouses like Malmo and Maribor, as well as being battered twice by Molde on their way to exiting the Europa League without a win :ffs: Are you going to tell me Molde could rock up in the PL next season and finish mid table as well? Granted they'd probably give a better account of themselves. Deluded.

I don't follow the national team, so no, not really. Huddersfield, Watford and Brighton would batter Celtic home and away playing in second gear, what are you on about? Who's going to stop them? Former Man City reserve and Bolton reject Dedryck Boyata? Or their alcoholic goalkeeper who couldn't make it at Sunderland? :dk: It's laughable to suggest a club who believe Scott Sinclair to be a star would stand any chance in this vastly superior division. Bottom 10? Deluded.
Not saying they always succeed but they punch above their weight that's for sure geebee.

I've met Craig Gordon actually. He was drunk at the time. As he was for the majority of his stay in the North East.

The Premiership as you call it doesn't exist. The top tier of English football is called the Premier League. A rather amusing exposure of your complete ignorance, there.

I've been to Glasgow. I cried the whole time.

And I've been to Newcastle lots of times, it's fine but it doesn't have the vibrancy of Glesgae. Gordon was crocked badly at Sunderland and for years after, can't blame the fella for having a few shandies in that instance.

To show that Sinclair has a similar (if not worse) PL pedigree to Jack Rodwell. That he's Celtic's best player speaks volumes.

Brendan should seriously consider signing Rodwell. He'd absolutely run the show in that penniless pub league.

.

I know they won't be but it was a hypothetical question and I was making a point to back up your view.

Obviously they could attract better players like Micah Richards and Jack Rodwell. Maybe someone like Darren Fletcher at a stretch.

To be fair I doubt Celtic fans will want to move as they won't ever see the champions league again if they did.

Not really, they have historically played in England, and Wales has a tenuous (at best) link to even being a country.

Scotland is very different to Wales. I'm not aware of any Scottish teams that play in England but happy to be corrected on this.
Gretna did. And Annan Athletic. Giants of the game. Currently none, but that's not really relevant.
And apparently Tweedmouth Rangers are an English team plying their trade in the Scottish 6th tier. I wiki'd that.

You'd think after the Scots voted to stay with us that they'd try to at least get on with their masters neighbours wouldn't you mate? But no, still they look for fights. Sometimes I really despair.

Celtic would stay up in the Premier League. Not by much, but I think they would.

Aberdeen might just be able to hold their own in the Championship.

Everyone else is utter cack and belongs in L2/NL.

Just googled him and saw this..."he won notoriety as an extremely bad poet who exhibited no recognition of, or concern for, his peers' opinions of his work."

I'm saying nothing!

That's him alright, the worst poet in the world! He wandered up to Balmoral when Queen Victoria was up there, stamped on the door and declared 'I'm the Queen's poet!!' to which he got slung on his ear. Would love to have met him. Spike Milligan made a mad film about him, mind you he was mad as a box of frogs himself.

Salty, I just saw in this thread: https://www.onefootballforum.co.uk/...-i-just-bought-this.10594/page-20#post-648509 , that you were shopping Whisky again, so I can only assume that you already "had a few" when you posted this ;)

Dirk's bunch? You mean "Angles" and "Saxons"? Nah, Steven is more the Norman. He likes the french league and even watched the french super cup this weekend. No one of our "bunch" would do that :D

btw: Now I have this pic in my head "You in your kilt with your bagpipe playing Scotland the Brave and watching Highlander, Rob Roy and Braveheart. Or a documentary of Bannockburn and maybe even Culloden ;) " and drinking a few ....
