It’ll 95% be us now. Would love to summon up more enthusiasm for L2 but watching this bunch of pussies all season has pretty much drained all of it away.
I’ve drawn up a list for you with all the positives I could think of about being in League 2:

1, It’s Not the National league.
2, There’s no prick Bolton or Pompey fans on here.
3, That’s it.

I've found L1 to be a fairly boring and predictable league and also hasn't helped how awful we've been. The football is better but it's always the same teams up at the top going up to and coming down from the Championship and the bottom is predictable too.

Also the L2 forum here has more banter than L1 which is pretty dull considering there are barely any fans if any from most of the bigger clubs in that league.

I have found it incredibly boring, not helped by us needlessly ballsing up, I am oddly looking forward to coming back down a bit and to enjoy potentially winning more games and not having the games where your largely beaten before kick off against the so called giants (all be it we did beat Derby and Plymouth away last season).

Looking forward as said to see how our promising kids get on and hopefully clearing out some of the spineless cowards we've signed last summer and enjoying the football again. We got promoted way to early in the process of building the infrastructure.

At least you still have a chance of staying up, we were relegated the second we got promoted.

As much as I admire how Bromley have transformed from a 'Who?' team to a very solid National League outfit they are neither fun to play or watch. As an example our keeper Rob Lainton was hospitalised in (I think) three successive seasons at Bromley away (knocked out twice and one broke wrist).

Barnet probably the best equipped to come up but they are a boring yo yo team. I'd also like to see Alty make it.
Are all their players still built like an NFL side?

Halifax preferred (put 1 forum member on ignore though), especially if lose Donny. Next Alty - replaces Stockport as our Manc trip. Then Barnet - always a good one for our Aalst fan base (“We are Aalst and Grimsby who the fuck are you”).

We have history going back 16 years and more. Too much to go into.

Only 16 years? Lucky.

Bromley make Sutton look like a big club. The away section makes the away section at FGR seem luxurious. And the poor personal hygiene of their supporters makes me want to cry.

Posh Harry Sorry I quoted the wrong post earlier my ‘everything’ reply should’ve been a reply to someone saying what’s wrong with Bromley, not sure how I ended up quoting you instead.

A Millwall-supporting colleague from Bromley once told me that the club (along with Welling Utd, which if you know the towns of Welling and Bromley is maybe less surprising) had attracted to its fan base a fair number of people banned from EFL grounds across SE London (for all that such bans are generally in principle supposed to extend beyond EFL grounds). I felt he instinctively disapproved of them even though they were in effect his nearest (major) non-league team.

Beyond that I know very little about them. Other than that they aren't old hands of the non-league scene like Sutton or Dagenham or Barnet (chuck in references to the former clubs in Romford and Enfield for good measure, outside of Greater London Alty obviously fit this category too) but I also presume (wrongly?) they've not been massively bankrolled either.

If they have a worse away end than us, and aren't Bristol Rovers, that's pretty shocking....

I'm looking forward to it in a strange sort of way. League 1 has been a disaster. As others have said, it's a pretty predictable league with the odd exception. You also get those teams who think they're Real Madrid because they get a few more fans than the rest. Feels like there's very few Billy big bollocks left in league 2, which will be nice. We'll mostly all be on an even keel.

Looking forward to Wimbledon if they stay here as my mate lives in Earlsfield (walking distance) and there's one or two decent pubs in between. Also Barnet....been before but I think that was at an old ground. Then you'veg got old favourites like Tranmere, Bradford etc. We've got 3 or 4 who would be top players in this division but we would need a real clear out or else we could go down again!

Jesus we must have been shit to play in this league............Perhaps the fact we did not have a pot to piss in and we got docked way more points than the premier league teams that have lost over a 100m pounds. meant that we had to spend one year with you retrobates. I loved how you all ganged up and talked broken biscuits on Boltons Demise,
Telling me how we was going out of the league bla, bla, blah

Enjoy your summer..............

Will be interesting that’s for sure, we’ve got to keep our key players like Chissy and Garrity as that adds a lot of goals from midfield, a lot will depend on who we can push out and then bring in. Various rumours rattling around about what finance we may have next year, even one we’ve bid 500k for a striker which I will believe when I see it! Moore is rumoured to be on a huge wage by our standards, will Carol push the boat out to make amends? What does the £180 million investment in Synectics mean for us?

Seems we were prepared to bid big money in January if you believe Flickers, Michael Smith at the club on deadline day but Wednesday couldn’t get a replacement through in time, the big bid for a top L2 striker who wanted to hold out for a Championship move in the summer (assumed to be the lad at Bradford).

The fans will demand a promotion attempt next season if we go down, easier said than done but this isn’t a club that’s under poor ownership and skint like previous times so spending 3 or 4 years sorting ourselves out at the foot of league two wouldn’t be acceptable really. That said even if we do spend no guarantees, Colchester for example seemed to make good signings and have struggled, you could argue letting Connor Hall go was the start of the decline back to L2! Mansfield have had a decent budget and taken until now etc.

I just hope we can put this mess of a season behind us and have an enjoyable but hopefully brief stay in L2 and get the buzz back again. It’s an absolutely massive summer for Carol and the club.

Actually 18 years. It all kicked off in the Ryman playoff semi final in 2006.

He must’ve been dropped on his head at birth that’s the only explanation for him.

Great when people post absolute moronic shite and then say they were just ‘fishing’.
Sign of very low intelligence that expecting that anybody would believe that bullshit.

It may ease at bit financially in L2 next season, you’ve got by far and away the two biggest budgets in Wrexham and Stockport going up, in all likelihood Mansfield too and we are sitting somewhere in the play-offs budget wise, 6th at a guess.

MK always got a top three budget at L2, Gillingham got loads of money, Colchester according to their own chairman is sitting between 8th-10th. Bradford will as always have a decent chunk but struggle to spend it properly.

It’s early days, but I’m looking forward to next season.

With the introduction of Sharpe in the background, coinciding with Rupp promising to put his hand in his pocket, I’m interested to see what kind of side we can build.

Our playing budget has flirted around £3.7m for the past couple of seasons. I’m guessing, it’ll be slightly higher next season. Barring Carlisle and perhaps Chesterfield, there doesn’t seem to be a standout financial powerhouse when compared to this season.

Has to be promotion. Anything less is a failure (again).

I would say we are coming down at the right time as it seems the big spenders will be swapping so should be a fairly level playing field, and if do "go for it" then we've a good chance, that said our recruitment team haven't had the best record lately (aside from Ollie and Alfie) so would need to hope Flitcroft departing cures that problem for a start!

That said we have to try and move a few of the contracted players out as we only have 5 OOC!

3.7 million ? That's lower than ours this season it was 4.1 million - suprised yours is that low is the club making a profit or something ?

I shudder to think what it was this season with the extra 1.4 million from our cup run - I'm guessing it wasn't a bottom 4 budget though
