I can’t remember Bromley being one of the worst in terms of playing style or obnoxious fans when Rovers were in the NL. Sounds like things have changed…

Bromley are definitely less shithouse than they used to be, they used to be the Grand Wizards of Shithousery a few seasons back.

Thank God we're not in this division. Both grounds are really shit. Both away ends are open ended (solihull is just a shit version of Gillingham with the temp stuff. Bromley - well you can't see all the pitch as the dugouts have these horrible non-see through adverts and its not a very deep 'stand'.

Guarantee Solihull come up and they'd get us at home in the first round of the cup.

Tbf having been re elected 14 times and then finished in the relegation zone twice in the fourth tier, isn't it less depressing playing at a level where you aren't down the bottom a lot of the time?

I'm looking forward to not actually being the worst team in our league (hopefully) after the last couple of years of being utter shite in both L1 & L2, even if it's a lower level. Losing every week isn't fun.
Guess it depends how long you've been watching them really, I've been going since 1996 so the re elections happened well before my time, I've seen us have more league 1 seasons than NL.

It's not the results side that's depressing any more it's the lack of numbers, most of the games don't feel 'proper' the only time is when you play an ex league side where there's an edge and intensity that you don't get 90% of the time here.

Didn’t realise Byron Webster was still playing.

If Bromley come up I hope they retain him.

I just had a look and yes there are a couple of former Carlisle players at Bromley, Webster is actually their captain and Olufela Olomola plays for them too and is in double figures this season for goals.

So hopefully Bromley come up just because they have ex players of ours. I know absolutely nothing else about them or Solihull, but at least either of them will be a new team for us to play and a new away ground to visit should be an interesting experience.

I'm quite looking forward now to us playing whoever it is. :)

Having been a follower of Wimbledon/AFC Wimbledon although not a supporter until 1986. The Dons for Div 4 was a thing. Even my late mother got on board and she hated football.

At least we will get at least 1 reminder next season why we can't go back to the NL again . They both used to get very small crowd when we went in the NL . Solihull is a right walk from any pubs aswell with a poorly segregated ground. Could be the smallest club crowds wise in the league for a while if they make it get just a touch over 1k home fans most games i think.

Bromley not as bad in that respect, they've averaged 2500+ (total not home fans) this season and I think that has increased every season for a while now so they're at least slowly tapping into their locality a bit it seems. I didn't realise quite how bad Solihull were before reading your post and then checking though. They had a sub-1000 crowd earlier in the season, 846 for Solihull v Borehamwood. Their highest was just 2800 whereas Bromley at least had 4000+ for theirs.

There should clearly be a rule that no club is allowed in the football league with sub 1,000 attendances at home.

It's nice to be back and hopefully retain our rightful and spiritual home of finishing 12th in league two.

I don't think we've ever finished 12th in League 2

To be honest, I'm just glad we're out of League 1 so don't have to put up with all the Vale and Carlisle fans.......

oh shit! ;)

At least you’ve got rid of Masi and Pompey Blueboy so swings and roundabouts.

Solihul v Crawley, the Airport Derby!

Solihul would be a decent one to get to for me but assume not a big away end?

No, it's incredibly tinpot. 1000 at most probably which on the balance of things not bad, but its a hell hole.

Stockport County.
It is a hard choice because they're both a bit tinpot but you'd have to say they've both been in the Play Off mix for a few years now, they've not just come from nowhere so they're not as left field as people have been making out. Without big traditional FL teams blocking their path last 2-3 years one or both would already have come up.

Small wins, though Masi has actually grown up a lot in the last year or so.
He keeps coming onto the league 2 forum to tell us all how shit we are so that’s why I posted the Bolton sinking ship on the league 1 promotion thread.

Massive ex Prem Bolton coming down to tell a L2 forum they are crap in a league they couldn't even win despite a huge budget compared to the rest of it! Makes sense. He has been ok in L1 though.

Pompeyblueboy is harmless but either is or acts 12 years old!

Anyway's best settle back in now... expecting the retained list in the next 48 hours and hopefully a few pay offs, and then Darren Moore is hosting the fans on Thursday to discuss the plan for next season.

Some decent local games at this level, Crewe if they stay down, Notts Co is always decent, potentially a first trip to Solihull Moors (Ian Taylor and all that), Walsall for their big newfound hatred of us, still got Fleetwood, Chesterfield again for our usual stinker at their place... maybe a bit more than usual spice v Swindon whats not to love?

Wife has been banging on about wanting to go Harrogate for the weekend so already dropped that option of "We could go when we play Harrogate away!).

I'm definitely working on the premise he's a child. No self-respecting adult is that annoying.

Already looking forward to some comparatively local games next season. Catching up with Morecambe, Accy, Tranmere, Salford (1st time ever ) Crewe, Barrow Bradford and of course Carlisle and Port Vale. Last time we played Grimsby a certain Jamie Vardy scored the winner at Highbury...Throw in Harrogate as well, bring it on !

I was there , Vardy was fast . I didn't think he would go on to have such a great career though and still going . Always liked Nathan Pond aswell we had him on loan for a bit back in the day .

I had forgotten Nathan Pond went out on loan to you, I know he did very well and was popular with the home fans. Think Jay Matete went out to you and also did well. You brought a lot of fans to Highbury and sure it will be the same this next season

A question for Fleetwood supporters. How are your finances with your owner in prison?
