Fuck me, that’s shit.
Probably more to do with game being on TV than anything else. Mansfield don’t travel in numbers to us, think they brought 150 odd last season which is about par for them. 360 they brought for the league game this season was probably the most in recent years by some distance.

Crowd of 6,719 meaning our average attendance for the season is 4,044.

Have your attendances been damaged by the off-field drama, or is it usually that shite?

18.Macclesfield. 262
19.Forest Green. 217
21.Cheltenham 191
22.Stevenage. 180
23.Morecambe. 150
24.Crawley. 104

Add in one of The Evil and AFC Bus Stop and that’s a good seven tinpotters to send back to their natural home. Good odds. Permission to add more relegation places please EFL.

316 Rovers at Rovers. Officially MORE MASSIVE than Stags. Shame about the football.

The football doesn’t matter on this thread it’s all about the numbers.

316 FGR vs 286 Mansfield one night apart, both big play off Semi final games. Well i’ll be damned  I blame Milton Keynes.

Maybe all the Mansfield coaches that set out got lost or something.

You're not comparing like for like though, easier for FGR fans on the Friday than the Mansfield fans on the Thursday logistically.

But neither are you. Roughly the same journey times, Forest Green fans having to travel marginally further and bring 50% more than their normal travelling support, whereas Mansfield only taking a third of their average away following is very disappointing, even allowing for the Thursday fixture. Think Rovers have sold out for the trip to the New Lawn on Monday night, which isn’t the most convenient for travelling fans either.

It’s clearly a one off thing like, we have been excellent all season following the team.

To be fair to those other fans, they probably don’t quite understand the mood within the fan base after that defeat to MK.

You can only be let down so many times before you say ‘fuck it’

Exactly, I had a conference in Edinburgh, can’t exactly fuck that off at 4 days notice and travel down the other side of the country.

300 or so is about fair.

The only thing that's pathetic is how many hours you spend on this thread when you've mentioned probably 50 odd times how much you don't care about away attendence figures.

If you get 286 in your away end next season you'll think its a good following the week after Dover bring 4

Tbh 286 is about the total from about 5 followings in the conference.

Have notts fans discovered they play all their games on a Tuesday night yet?

Fair play to Tranmere for selling out Monday, Mansfield figure was low but Thursday night for me would mean a day and a half off work, unpaid, as I'm self employed, the Friday equates to half a day and the prospect of a night out, losing 250 plus quid in wages as opposed to about 100 gives you food for thought.

Thursday and Friday night games aren’t comparable really, FGR got another day, also they could make a weekend of it in Liverpool if you liked - like you I couldn’t just take time off at such short notice.

Oh he’s appeared at last . So 286 is about right and not pathetic for a play off semi final which potentially determines your whole season ? :pmsl:

It may equal 5 conference game followings , as you should know , but they are all league games one of twenty three not a knock out style semi final haha

Alrighty then :ohy:

I’m pretty sure Forest Green fans would have to take the afternoon off work to get to Birkenhead comfortably before kick off .

It is you sir who aren’t comparing like for like , the average away followings of both teams as well as home crowds tell you that .

What drivel . It’s short notice for all involved in that first leg . How many of the Rovers fans do you think made a weekend of it , two dozen ? Come on Beal real .

This is true, it’s a nice city but it’s suffered in Manchester’s shadow in the last decade

An afternoon off as compared to a day plus, if I'd have been a Mansfield fan I would have taken yesterday off, the FGR fans, in the main, won't be at work today unlike a large percentage of Mansfield fans yesterday unless they used holiday days. Neither following was owt to write home about but some perspective eh.

We’ve not sold out yet. Sold around 1000 with 200 left.

Don't argue with stupid, they'll drag you down to your level and beat you with experience.

It just made me laugh, it’s like saying Monday’s are better than saturdays

Taking well less than a 3rd of your season away average to a play off game Thursday night or not Thursday night is incredibly poor . But I’m sure the the 4800 odd Stags fans who didn’t go but went to MK made plenty of noise in the pubs and homes of Nottinghamshire

Gentlemen , bosom buddies this is desperate attempted distraction .

If 286 isn’t pathetic what would of been classed as pathetic given the circumstances ? 250 ? 200 ? Come on Adam you are the so called expert on expected away levels and what’s pathetic and what isn’t after all .

You could argue, if you have the intelligence, that their average was vastly inflated by that MK Dons following.....

Good luck in the Conference, hope the club gets sorted and you don't hang about down there too long.

It’s a fair following for a Thursday night.

Who do you want to come up from the conference north so you can play them next season? Chorley or spennymoor town?

Right...

:ffs:

No it’s easier obviously but don’t you still have to take half a day off work to get to the game ? So that’s the main reason you couldn’t fill a modest 400 away allocation because it’s a Thursday not a Friday ?

The excuse list is building up to an impressive total, so far we have

On TV
Thursday not a Friday
Full day off work to travel the whole 3 hrs?
We’ve been let down so often so couldn’t be bothered
MK Dons match and impact on fans
Bad for self employed
Cost

Anything else lads ?

You could of alternatively just said , yeah it’s a bit shit and saved yourself time and looking foolish but keep defending the indefensible .
