The League Paper gave McKeown a 7/10 for yesterday, and gave star man to Woolford.

Surely McKeown needs to communicate his whereabouts to his defenders though? I agree it was Collins who was more at fault but McKeown has to take at least some of the blame.

Hahaha and nobody is better than Doug Lindberg GK Icon.
Conclusive proof at 13 seconds.

One of our supporters is absolutely fuming about something that happened after the game on Saturday. He was told by our manager to "f***ing grow up" and stop "trying to f***ing destabilise the club".

To be fair to Darren Way he had just asked him to sign the dunce cap that a lot of our fans wore during the match.

(BTW the dunce caps our fans wore at Tranmere were a reference to Darren Way's comment that our fans know nothing about football)

Swindon were excellent defensively and tactically got it spot on whilst we weren't really at the races. Draw a fair result. Not quite sure why Swindon hate DF mind. In the playoffs with him, slated him and happy to see him leave and now sat in midtable.
As Barnsley fans told us and we told Swindon, superb until he starts to pick weird teams, change the keeper EVERY match and generally lose his shit. It may well happen again.

It hasn’t happened yet, hopefully they’ve learnt from their mistakes.

If he’s winning all the time why would he change things ? That would be madness even by Flitcrofts past standards . Too early to say for sure . The test comes when he starts to lose a few and see how he reacts . Only then will anyone know whether he’s learnt from past mistakes and changed his managerial approach . Or will he revert to type

If Notts County fans want to know how devastating dropping into non league really is, besides the terrible football, have a read of the impact on our outstanding academy, good article.

http://trainingground.guru/articles/tranmere-academy-more-productive-than-three-in-premier-league
Methodology seems a bit bizarre. Our academy has produced Ethan Ampadu, currently turning out for Chelsea, and yet it says we have no Prem players who came through our academy. Though Chelsea do keep claiming that 'he's one of their own' , the absolute muppets.
Ironically about Brentford scrapping theirs, they just trawl through other clubs academies now which is how they got Watkins off us.

Shame that the first game to try and follow up on back to back home wins is Bury away. In a vaccum, a loss in this one is something you can accept, as they clearly have a good team and are excellent at home. But we've got to start picking up points away from home and nobody is unbeatable, home or away.

Goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway, I'd be delighted with a point. Another comfy home win, 3-0 is my guess. Why do I have this feeling we might even get spanked?

FGR - Northampton

I know practically nothing about Northampton other than what I can gleam from stats and a brief look at recent match reports. It looks like they keep possession well and get a lot of shots away. Which suggests they are a decent footballing side. Their form has been slowly improving although drawing too many games recently, but loosing very few. They also seem to be a pretty aggressive outfit who take no prisoners. Not a bad combination, suggests they will continue to improve further.

As ever so difficult to know what to expect from us at home, other than disappointment. Only one shot on target at home in the last three home games!!! (Incl. Oxford FA cup game). (BBC Stat). But since then in the last two games both away, Tavhon Campbell and George Williams have struck-up a partnership upfront so it would be nice to see that continue to flourish by getting a couple between them today at home.

Lets hope were not too leggy after our moral sapping encounter with Cheltenham on Saturday.

I’m kinda optimistic because, even for our decent home form, we have played really, really well this last week. Possibly two of the best performances under Artell. The only problem is if Bury score even one it’s highly unlikely we’ll get anything more than a draw and what are the chances of keeping a clean sheet at Bury?

Whistling Kettle is in charge of our game at home to Cheltenham today so anything could happen. Hopefully we'll improve on our record of 1 home win since February.

Home to Port Vale today, which we obviously need to be looking to win although Vale have the third best away defence (11) behind us and Mansfield (10) so they hardly leak goals and they'll have Pope playing who hasn't done so in either of the games we've played against them this season.

Only about 20 tickets left for this one in the home areas after opening another half a block. Not sure what Vale are bringing but they got given an 800 section.

Problem is, I reckon the tactics will be to stay in the game and try and pinch a goal, which will probably lead to us falling behind and like you say, once that happens its curtains. We need to be more aggressive and get that first goal. Get that and we seem far less likely to blow it, unlike last season.

I also think Porter and Bowery aren't going to be much use in an away game. I know it'd never happen, but I'd like to see a front 3 of Miller, Kirk and Ainley. Gives us a decent counter attacking option. Like I said, we'll probably lose and that won't be a disaster, just so long as we don't embarrass ourselves or get turned over by 3 or more.

Morecambe is the biggie for me, got to get something there.

You should win easily, we will no doubt get everyone behind the ball and try and shithouse our way through the game (our standard tactic for every game) but at some point Lincoln will get one and then reckon it’ll end up about 3-0.

Home win 4-0, no fight, no bottle.

Any other side would be desperate to right the wrongs of the reverse fixture but can’t see us being arsed, not playing for Aspin anymore.

Have key players who missed the reverse fixture notably Pope and Manny and Pugh highly unlikely to be a left winger in this surely.

Free hit i suppose. Aspin surely gone with a heavy defeat so maybe one to take for the long term good?

Any Vale fans who go need their head testing. Probably 200 or so.

We need to be winning this really. We've looked pretty good at home recently, but not so great away in theast couple of games. With a very thin squad actually playing minutes, we've looked quite tired.

Should be a cracking atmosphere!

Aspin finally gets his team more balanced with Gibbons in from the cold.. Vassell who has been terrible recently and targeted by opponents dropped.

Two full backs at full back. Simple game sometimes.
