But in the six months after that our turnover was nearly that alone, so we are probably looking at double that turnover now. To be fair.

We are definitely requiring more funding, that’s obvious looking at attendances alone.

I find Lincoln situation a bit bizarre, you would expect with the surge in crowds and money they could have realistically run the club sustainably and still compete at the top end of L2 but they decided to go significantly beyond that.
It's something I have difficulty with as well, but apparently we are amongst the lowest earners in the Football league in terms of commercial revenue and matchday revenue, because we have sod all facilities outside of a football ground. This is the argument for moving to a shiny new stadium which can generate money every day of the week.
Still, i would have thought that with the Cowleys as managers (who have a very solid record of consistently punching above their weight) we shouldn't need to be spending quite as much as we are.

I am concerned that we are unsustainable without regular injections of cash from our board, or a Cup Run/big sale of a player. If we go up to League One, wages will increase further and there is no way our income will be able to match the increase because we already max out the ground every week.

Ah okay sorry, misread your post in that case. Are Lincoln fans really of the opinion that they don't have a top 2/3 budget in the division?
I don't think anyone has denied that it's a good budget (I think we're probably 4th or so, personally).

Nearly every club is in the same boat though to be fair, it’s sadly just how it is. Accys chairman really does have a point

I mean the season we made that small 6k profit we were average at best on the field, but pouring money at it doesn’t always work but obviously is now for us and yourself. Why can’t we do a Accrington though? If they can get promoted with sustainable budget so should any other club at this level.

I feel Mansfield do get a bit of unfair stick nowadays but it’s pretty standard to being ‘big spenders’ and it actually working. I don’t mind JR pumping money in via One Call if it’s from stuff like sponsorship AND things are improving outside the pitch too which is definitely the case, our facilities and ability to make money outside match day are the best ever and continuing to get better. Seriously that training ground is very impressive, and it’s not something you would expect at L2.

Have we gone significantly beyond that? Ticketing income was £2.2m last season and that's going to go a long way, if not all the way, to paying first team wages.

These figures show the investment in infrastructure more than anything IMO (whilst understanding that we clearly don't have a mid-table budget).

I think Carolyn posing on her balcony or in the jacuzzi or on her fancy holidays to Dubai probably makes it seem a bit gaudy and tasteless. It's not exactly a discreet, is it?

How are they misleading?
I missed his bit it being a 13 month period, seen it now. That obviously added to the losses (at a time when they've be no income).

That 30 days of no income made a big difference on a million loss when spending 800k on transfers I guess.

Income only up 13% but costs up 88% also didn't make you lose a million.

Not sure why you are trying to justify them, you are top of the league highly likely to get promoted, have no debts. Today's football is about spending money to succeed short of edge cases like Accrington. Don't worry about it you have one of the largest budgets in the league and are in a position to show for it. You could be County instead.

I can see why fans of other clubs aren’t too happy about them, it’s hardly as if mansfield, or pretty much anywhere in Nottinghamshire is awash with cash, but the fans are eternally greatful for what he’s done - and done well - all you’ve got to do is look down the road at that joker at county to see how it can go wrong.

We’ve done brilliantly at increasing club revenue away from football, again with limited facilities as the ground was built on the cheap.

Given both clubs have had respective lean periods in the last decade maybe we can hopefully both write it off and enjoy league 1 next season

Do Lincoln have the facilities to generate more non-match day income from Sincil Bank? That coupled with improved catering facilities and the Trust tent on match-day is what the Palioi have done at Rovers and apparently we’re on course to break even.

Nope, we're maxed out on everything in that respect. We don't have any Conference facilities or venue rooms per se but some are held in areas of the stadium. It's not really set-up for anything like that and our Exec Boxes are rented out as offices during the week.

We have the Fanzone, which was something brought in early last season.

Likewise with attendances, we've hit a ceiling in what we can provide, which is frustrating. Throw a Rotherham/Chesterfield type ground into the mix (from a facilities point of view only) and we'd be laughing.

Should be a challenging game for Mansfield at Newport on the paddy field, will Newport keep firing after Tuesday or will they have had a beer and took the eye off the ball?

Would be happy with a point here tbh, but could very easily go in any direction.

That’s a shame as really good atmosphere at Sincil Bank when it’s full, which seems to be most days atm.

People still think Tranmere fans overrate Ollie Banks?

Tranmere with him 1.9pts per game. Tranmere without 1pt per game.

Not that it changes the fact our season is over.
Would be interested to know how many of those assists were converted by Norwood. It helps when you have a clinical finisher around.

Suspect that Banks might be near the top for picking up needlessly stupid yellow cards too. A talented but infuriating individual.

If they're getting the same weather as we are in Gloucester at the moment, I'll be surprised if it's on given their history.

Apparently Newport are saying they believe the game will be on tomorrow which is surprising considering the standing water that was on the pitch towards the end of Tuesday nights game. Wanted it off to be fair so we can avoid yellows for Bishop and Sweeney so they’d be available next week.

Not a chance will Bishop go a full game on a pitch like that without picking up a card.

I’d take a point, Newport played some good stuff at times the other night so are more than just a hoof and hope outfit so looking forward to it, Like Adam says hopefully they have one eye on the City game.

Enjoy that and let us enjoy tomorrow!

Well well well, sounds like Mansfield are already working their magic here to get this one called off.

Newport didn’t look much good against us last week and got smashed by Grimsby. Think they are firmly focused on the cup to be honest and the carrot of Man City won’t help that!

Bishop will be a big miss but I’d rather one of his games be against someone like county next week than someone good.

I know you’re after a bite but we need Bishop in our midfield against the likes of Doyle, Not some 18 year old making a debut.

Be nice to be at SB for a change tomorrow against Northampton. Both games we've had this season were close and I'm expecting the same tomorrow.

We had a few niggles after the Notts game last week - Anderson, Bolger, Bostwick and Vickers but I think they'll have cleared up.

Don’t really get what you mean, he’s going to get suspended at some stage, for 2 games and it’s going to be soon. I’m not bothered about county, Itll be their cup final - im bothered about forest green the Saturday after tbh - win that and it’s a massive step for our promotion bid. Doyle is a good player for sure, but we’ve a few in midfield better than him. Best to play your natural game and if the booking happens tomorrow it happens - 3/4 points from the next 2 away games would be a dream
