Pretty much like the game last Saturday, shocking first half due to being tactically inept and poor individual performances (CJ, Bishop and Logan spring to mind) second half, just like Newport we would have probably won if it was not for a red card (this time looked completely deserved)

Now doubled our red card count from last season. On the plus side we once again shown loads of character and grit, but we need sort out the first half immediately.

I just don’t see how we can get promoted with Conrad Logan in net, he’s got too many blunders in him.

I’m fairness Preston’s challenge was a red, it was wreckless and poorly timed, like last week down in Mordor we’d have probably won without the red card but again had to settle for a draw with a limited side.

Special words for morecambe though, they normally start well and fade but the football and the tactics they employed today were impressive, neat, tidy and effective, as bad as Mansfield were.

We’ve a lot to work on tbh, the last time we got promoted we endured defeats in August to the likes of Grimsby, Gateshead and Newport, so nothing is lost yet - look at Scunthorpe

I did predict a slow start, that being said our squad is absolutely loaded with quality. Khan and Maynard in particular look a complete step above with the ball.

Some issues to sort out though, why has the best defensive suddenly become so shoddy? A big part is our defenders do not trust Logan in net, understandably.

He’s obviously nice and a fantastic shot stopper (probably the best I’ve seen in my time as a mansfield fan) but I think it’s clear everyone is praying for bobby to be back ASAP

I don’t think there’s a need to panic, we’ve had an away game at a direct, physical side who are out to clog and bully you and we’ve played badly against morecambe and whereas realistically 3 points should be the standard, we showed again we can come back from awkward moments.

Improvement is made though, and Carlisle will be a tough test next week

Bish needs to play in a midfield three I reckon. He is better when there isn't as much space in the middle. He struggles to get close and touch tight which is when he is at his best, at least those were my observations last year on the rare occasions we switched to 4-4-2.

A bit of a shame that we’re only 2 points ahead Mansfield, whilst they were 2 down to Morecambe we had a nice 3 point cushion but to only be 2 points ahead of a team like Mansfield is very disappointing.

One team has two red cards and seven yellows from two games, the other has three yellows. Who’s the ‘classless thugs’ again? Still, last week it was ‘uneducated thugs’, so perhaps we’re making progress.
