Afraid so mate. It's something we brought in last year to increase the home allocation as most of the teams in NL don't bring many. I'm kinda surprised we've kept it going this season as there will be higher away gates, but I guess it must have worked out money wise.

I think it's more around 950+. Maybe we say the ground loses a few rows due to segregation or something and get around it that way, I've no idea. You'd like to think we'd release more if the away allocation sells out and the home end has space, be stupid not to.

Yes. ~10,500 but gave just over 900 to away fans (bar a couple of early games). I think safety organisation is the excuse but it let us get as many home fans in as possible.

If they do then they could be a force to be reckoned with next season if they sign even just a decent defence.

He's right ya know. Doubt there are many if any better attacking 3 than those boys in L2 next season.

I appear to be in a small minority who actually wants us to cash in on that bloke Langstaff. Great time to sell after back to back Golden boots but the asking price is likely too high.

It would be a good idea to cash in on him as there are many other capable strikers out there available who wouldn't even cost you much.

Then use that Langstaff money on a damn good defence.

Also what happened with David Mcgoldrick? Was he released because he's just too old now?

From what I saw of him this season he was still a class above despite his age.

As for McG, he's not been released, he's still old but not too old for this level. Performed well first half of season, tailed off in second half, still moments of absolute quality most games, and played too much tbh.

Limited chances at the end of the season due to the arrival of our Gambian Prince. If Langstaff is sold, we have Jatta, McGoldrick and a returning Cedwyn Scott which is more than decent for the striker or strikers positions.

We did too after the temporary kop was built. There's loopholes, and one positive of having Shaun Harvey advising the exec is that we know how to exploit them.

New chairman for us as the other one of 1878 becomes Chair. Andrew Pettit, agreed when they bought the club that it would be three year terms as chair. Not much will change other than name, and perhaps less media and less matchday duties for Jason and vice versa.

Also, and probably bigger news is that they said they are converting their loans to shares, buying more shares and hopefully announcing new investment in next few weeks.

I am interested what this 'heavy investment ' from these new people is going to be used for as they have stated over and over again they won't go silly on the playing budget(they are pretty weathy guys themselves by all accounts ) . Possibly stadium improvements & the new training ground ?

By the sounds of things these new donators at least have some sort of ties to the area , possibly through family ? Will be an interesting few weeks

It’s based on 10% of actual seats - so seats lost due to segregation are discounted from the total capacity

I bet this is the same rule Harvey is exploiting. Can’t segregate a temporary stand so doesn’t count as capacity for away allocations.

Just goes to show that not every foreign takeover is the yellow brick road for lower league clubs chasing the dream.

Swindon probably would've been relegated last season if it wasn't for Dan Kemp and Jake Young. I have a feeling if nothing changes, they'll be the next established league club to enter the abyss, potentially as soon as 12 months time. I hope for the fans sake it isn't, but this is a club with a history of ownership issues and has attracted a few too many wrong'uns over the last few decades or so.

Allegedly there is interest. I'm sure the current owners will not be competent enough to make sure a quick takeover will happen this summer.

The problem was that the (old) Trust did their due diligence and got behind Clem Morfuni. Even as alarm bells and red flags were raised, the Trust continued to back him. Eventually CEO and lifelong fan Rob Angus resigned, and was replaced with some total non-entity from Morfuni's construction business. The Trust gradually imploded and more and more murky things came out of the woodwork. The new Trust seems a very different beast.

And agreed, without our good start to last season we would have gone down. We might not be so lucky next season, this summer is important for the future of the club. We've sold less than 1k season tickets v 3,500 at this time last season so a lot of people are opening their eyes to what's happening behind the scenes.
