His ego has been partly his downfall too. He just couldn’t stay off Twitter despite it being obvious to anyone it wasn’t doing him any good. He appeared to place way too much emphasis on the views expressed on there, probably resulting in our supposed ‘change of style’ and the sacking of Nolan.

His winding up of forest basically was a case of biting the hand that feeds with the loan signings , and his over-confident postings about where notts would finish and constant digs have invited much ridicule from Mansfield fans.

It’s getting to the territory where even a few Mansfield fans feel sorry for him such is the depth of his self-caused problems, which says something.

If only all that history could come back and save him. Oh, wait.

If its being more credence than we think his falling out with forest ,and i dont think it has ,his declaration that the 2 friendlies against derby and leicester,were against the biggest clubs in the east midlands didn,t help hes a bit of a modern day yuppie imo ,dont think the constant tweets helped either

With how he goes about things I’d imagine a fair few would have been taken aback by his attitude.

Maybe he’s completely different in the boardroom. The fact is that had he not pissed off forest grant would have gone back to Notts no doubt.

Haha, yeah it was Blue Square's final season as sponsors when you lot won the league. Your post got me thinking about all the different sponsors we had during our 9 year stint in the connie. I just couldn't recall what the league was called when we went down in 2005, but Wiki says it was Nationwide at the time

It's a good and informative read that wiki page. For instance, while I can name all the clubs that won the title back in the 80's (but at a time when re-election was still a thing so no FL place for the winner), I always have trouble recalling that Col U did actually win the title back in 1991/92.
