I don't think there's many/any teams' fans who've said that they aren't expecting a much better season, some people are clearly in for a big shock *cough* Mansfield *cough*.

I don't see where we are in for a big shock.

The vast majority know that on paper we have a much better side than last season, but I've not heard a single Stags supporter mention any expectations of grandeur.

We all want to see improvement as a club, in style, substance and final position. You clearly think that we must be destined for a relegation battle?
I can only see that if we suffer the same type of catastrophic injury situations as we did last season, personally.

There is going to be a lot of egg on faces when the Stags finish in play off places.

Love all this Mansfield getting relegated rubbish anyone who has a brain or any sort of knowledge of football would understand we have a better team compared to some teams. I'd say about 8-9 teams look worse than us on paper.

Are they a couple of examples of 'expectations of grandeur'?

Perhaps my own vision of the phrase is more opulent.

What are you dragging me in this for? That post does fuck all to prove your point given i was merely stating everyone that thinks we will be in the bottom two is going to be proved wrong. My post only suggests a lower mid table finish.

Why is everyone getting so touchy on here today? We're all shit, enjoy the ride.
:dk: Jeez, was just a joke guys, an attempt (failed one at that) to provoke a reaction as per usual from Stags fans on here.

Do you ever find your material clears the building at parties fella?:conf:
Always.

Anyway, we're set to get a payment for 17 year old Dean Henderson who is to sign a professional contract with Man Utd, after they took him from us in 2011. Doubt it'll be too much, but every little helps.

Josh Passley signs for us on a one year deal. RB/CB and sounds like a decent signing.

I don't know about CB but he was alright for us at RB last season. He did get dropped though for being late for a match after it happened a second time.

As expected Conor Newton has signed on a two year deal. Money has stated this is another big signing for the club and is expecting big things from him. Conor turned down Wolves and Millwall before joining Rotherham in 2013. Things obviously haven't worked out for whatever reason but I think we could have pulled off a coup here.

Hmm, I think it was Scott Doe I saw shaking hands with John Still in the stands on Tuesday night at Boreham Wood. Did wonder who that was.

Jesus christ, this forum is going dramatically downhill. Can't wait for the season to start for us all to realise we're all crap League 2 sides.

When Accrington smash Luton, we nick a lucky win at Pompey and Stevenage play Notts off the park on the first day, we'll be back to normal.

He didn't say he's coming for a trial - it said Phil Brown has made contact. If I were CMS would I really be interested in another trial knowing there were deals on the table? Especially at this stage with 3 weeks to go until the season starts.

Has any United fan said we'll be in the top 3? If so, then I must have missed it. I certainly said no such thing, as I'm always wary of having too many new faces in, due to the fact that new squads need time to gel. We're expecting a much better season than last year's that's all, with perhaps, a play-off push.

I'm happy to live in the fantasy world of Top 3 this season for another 3 weeks - then when we get turned over by the Exiles, I'll get back to my normal worried self.

As to the "who has the biggest" bore fest, I thought (hoped) that were above that on the L2 Forum.

For a better team in a higher league? Absolutely, why wouldn't he?

Is Beaker pretending to rub his face in the breasts of a very large, naked, imaginary lady there?

Fraser Franks signs for Stevenage. Sub-par League 2 defender, I was pretty sure he'd drop back down. Okay as squad cover but if he's your first choice you won't make the play-offs IMHO.

We're waiting to hear back from CMS agent on whether he'll be in a Southend shirt this weekend
