Paying a decent fee for Young when he's been inconsistent at best in League Two seems a gamble, even when the squad building for an immediate return to League One angle is put on it.

We have had a bid turned down by Bradford for Jake Young but we'll be going back in for him and it will be just a matter of time before he signs.

I tell you what, you L2 lot should be praying we don't get relegated because we would absolutely annihilate this league next season with the squad we're putting together.

If you thought Stockport and Wrexham were good then wait until you see us.

Is your plan to get relegated? because you don't seem to be putting much effort into staying in League one.

£200k for someone’s who has had three good months in his entire career I’d be happy with, Lewis was a joke amount but I’m not fussed for Young and his ten games for us whatever it is. Mark Douglas, journalist for the I newspaper and City fan, revealing last week we’re needing directors loans to see us through at the minute, we’re basically skint and open to having our pants pulled down - all down again to the ownership that is slowly killing us.
Where’s the money going from the biggest fan base in the division by a distance?

This is when you realise just how mental wages in football are, a rumoured 12k per week for a player at a club in the Championship relegation zone (albeit a very big club) and who can’t even get in their team.
Crazy.
L1 isn't much better at the middle to top end. I've watched Barry Bannan walking round the pitch, albeit quite well, on a rumoured £25k+ a week!

Aidan McGeady at Sunderland was apparently on £35k/week+ when they were in L1. Can't imagine Hourihane is on peanuts at Derby, Brannigan at Oxford is on silly money as well.

Bannan is going to be on that money because of how well he did previously with Wednesday in the championship, big club that gets relegated will always have players still earning Championship money.

Young is crap and a flash in the pan, you are more than welcome to him we’re just holding out for a bit more cash and who wouldn’t when it’s obvious you’ll just keep upping the offer.

Hardly an appealing move for Jake. Probably expecting more than the basement club in L1 and heading back to L2.

He’s good in a 2 upfront, not so good outwide. He was supposed to be staying, WBA were okay with him staying, he then just rocked up to GM’s door said he wasn’t stopping, wouldn’t explain himself and left. I’ll put that down to his age.

How can a player decide if he leaves a loan agreement

We’re all absolutely shitting ourselves mate, all that’s on our minds is massive Carlisle and their huge budget sitting 23rd in League 1 below such powerhouses as Cheltenham Burton Albion and Shrewsbury.

Annihilate? give over!

I think we'll be well positioned to compete well but we won't annihilate anyone unless we learn how to stop giving the ball away in dangerous areas as well as gifting cheap goals. A long way and a lot of players to go until we're in a position where we annihilate anyone, let alone a full league.

All you're doing here is setting yourself up to look foolish.

Hutton could be very good back up for Southam Hales if Knoyle is out for a while.

Shows how far ahead we are if we bring Swindon's best player as a back up right back.
Yeah about 1-2k per week per player ahead of most of the division!

You have to see how shit we are to believe it, but believe me when I say there's no amount of signings could keep us up. We'd need an entire new starting 11 and subs bench and even then they wouldn't have the time to settle in, gel together and keep us up.

I think this is why we're targeting tried and tested or in form League 2 players ahead of next season. There's no chance we stay up. Carver won't admit it because he looks like a fool for relegating Northampton in November.

We no longer have a best player now that Kemp has gone back to MK. IF we did Hutton wouldn’t be it. I don’t think you’ll find any of our fans to upset if he went and we got any sort of a fee for him

Probably had an agent in his ear giving him bad advice mate he sounds decent enough from what I know of him we do play 2 upfront.

Does sound that way, he’ll give you something different but he’s a typical youngster, he’d gone off the boil with us but given how bad we are that’s unsurprising

Carver reminds me a lot of the Halifax fan BTTF in the Non League forums. Cut from the same cloth.

I'm surprised you're struggling so much, even though I didn't see much of you last season in the play off final you looked a decent well. organised team with a bit of quality in players like Moxon and I thought you'd adapt to League One with no issue. Didn't you lose your entire front line in the summer, were they not replaced? have you had significant injuries?

The step up has been bigger than we anticipated. We lost a few of the front line yeah but in all honesty players like Kristian Dennis would be no where near good enough for league 1, so I was fairly happy when he left.

Moxon was probably one of if not the best players in League 2 last season, but League 1 he’s struggled. He’s not been terrible but with much less time on the ball in League 1, and up against stronger and faster midfielders, he’s not had the same impact.

We’ve had a few injuries but in all honesty I don’t think they’ve contributed that much, we’d have still struggled anyway.

When you do go up you’ll need to invest well in the squad. But I’m sure you will with your owners backing. Our takeover has come 5 months too late for this season. Had it happened in the summer things could have been different, but we’ll go again in League 2 next season.

I'd like to think that Savage Snr would say come to Wrexham over Stockport as Robbie never did fulfil his dream of playing for his hometown team when his legs were gone.

But, its not Robbie playing, so he can only influence to some degree. Also depends on what Stockport want to offer and what securities he may be given.

Robbie used to get so much stick from Wrexham fans for choosing to sign for Crewe. Maybe he's forgiven them now.

Oh aye absolutely, and rightly so. In his defence nowadays, he does stick up for the club and has made the odd game when we were in non league. I remember we played Macc away and he was walking with us to the ground with his kids. He really defends the club when on the 5 Live (listen to the pillock from Shrewsbury saying we should be kicked out the league for being in Wales for instance - if anyone else wants to jump on that bandwagon, please feel free to do some googling to find out why we do).
