Some talk that big Haydn Hollis could be off to Chesterfield on loan for the rest of the season.

Would be surprised if he stayed at Notts, hasn’t played a single league minute all season. He’s a nice lad and has all the attributes to be a decent lower league defender - powerful, wins most of his headers, strong in the tackle etc - but he hasn’t developed at all from when he was 19/20. Still makes too many silly errors and still has to be carried by the rest of the defence - if they’re playing well then he can look really solid but as soon as things start going wrong his own game goes completely to shit.

Justin Edinburgh said in his post match interview yesterday, that we are quite far down the line with regards to signing Josh Coulson from Cambridge on a pernament basis. Great signing for us, he was badly missed when he was injured for two months.
Shame because he's a local lad and a massive fans favourite, epitomises pretty much everything good about the club but has never quite made the grade to become a defender capable of playing in a league two side aiming for promotion. Wish him all the best and hope he can get another promotion at a great club

One of our blog writers dropped Sam Hughes as a possible signing in January, on loan from Leicester.

We tried to sign him in the summer from Chester before he joined Leicester thinking we'd lose Raggett. They're quite similar apparently.

Meh in clink if he's not careful! Only Mansfield would be daft to pay the fee Posh would want like they with Angol...
Hughes would be an interesting one though.
Plenty of rumours flying around at the mo!

Lots of folk saying Miller is coming to us. We tried for James Hanson of Sheff Utd in the summer, but he was willing to stay at the Blades and fight for a start. With the emergence of Brookes, he's pretty much 5th choice now behind Sharp, Clarke, Donaldson and Brookes, so I keep hearing we might give it another try.

If we were to get both of those, that'd be 6 strikers on the books...7 if you count OSJ who has played there already this season but to me he is a winger. Some will need to go out, who though is anyone's guess with Evans falling out with anyone week to week.

Sheff Utd also have Ched Evans below Hanson in the pecking order. He never seems to be fit, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't become a target for clubs at our level.

Hanson who's not played all season? He might start to look sharp about April time and Miller is a gamble. 1 goal in the Football League in about 6 starts. He's not a young kid either.

Peterborough are now saying he's rejected two L2 and a L1 club because he doesn't want to move north but they're in negotiations with a southern based L2 one.

Wycombe? Barnet? Cambridge? Colchester?

Heard we're in for Miller again.

Him and Doidge would be a decent pairing if we can pull this off.

He would fit in well there based on the previous 'top lads' you've had.

We’re in for Miller I believe. He’s a local lad with links to the club and I’m pretty sure we tried to get him in Summer. Just comes down to whether or not the shite he plays for are willing to do business with us. My guess is he’ll go to lincoln.

Don't think we need another selfish striker if I'm honest. I know Miller is a proven goalscorer but he always goes it alone and fails to spot teammates in better positions. That's the impression I got every time I watched a Dover match.

I don’t think it would be too long before our Shaun coached all that ambition out of him. He’d be a good signing for any club at this level, selfishness is good in a striker, especially one with such a prolific track record.

As above, he's not willing to move north. He wants to stay down south.

There's selfish with half chances, which is fine and accepted by team mates, and there's self centred and blinkered - which is what I've seen whenever I've watched him with Dover, shooting at every opportunity however hopeless rather than pass and move.

That said, partnered with Uche, provided it's not ahead of Jevani Brown, might be interesting.

I'll be surprised if he doesn't go to Lincoln (Cowleys 'll persuade him Sincil Bank is in the South no problem) - Posh are taking over from us as their feeder club.

We won't be in for Miller either we tried to get him but posh beat us to it and Nolan said he won't go back to his last January's targets if they said no to us then plus he as a pending court case over him next month.

Agree would be a good signing for Cambridge as there is no doubt the lad has talent. The problem is of course is his off the field antics which makes him a bit of a risk. We got rid of him for that reason and now Peterborough want rid after the latest incident. Lets hope if he does switch to Cambridge that he concentrates on his career which means he will have to be well man managed.

Just our poshphobia means we notice the likes of Angol, Anderson and Bostwick and nostalgia means we have long memories for some of our former heroes, stalwarts and wasters passing through, especially in your final conference years.

I would take Ricky Miller in a heartbeat despite his off the field problems.

A natural finisher is just what is required for us and with Brown supplying I would imagine he would get 10 goals for us in the second half of the season.

For some ridiculous reason we've allowed Jamey Osborne to stay at Solihull for another month, despite him being one of our most creative players and he would be one of the first on my team sheet if I was manager. Complete madness in my opinion.

Evans has confirmed today that he's not even spoken to Peterborough about Miller. Darragh McAnthony has tweeted a straight up "Nope" when asked if he's off to Lincoln.

Evans has said he wants three players. One is the most obvious, a striker that we've been crying out for all season, and another will be a midfielder who can fill the massive void whenever Byrom gets injured, which has happened too often this season already. The third is anyone's guess though. That probably means three going out....Taft and Thomas will highly likely be two of those three leaving.

I'd like to think we are in for Taft either on an extended loan or a permanent deal. He's done well and Coulson is off to Orient permanently so we definitely need a CB.

Cowley reckoned in his press conference this afternoon that Cambridge are the southern based L2 club Posh are negotiating with.

Have heard Farrend Rawson and Bassala Sambou for us.

Rawson has been on loan at Accrington - no idea how he's been doing. Our back four is pretty set so imagine he'd be as cover with Hollis leaving. Think we wanted Sambou on loan in the summer but Everton were insisting that we paid 100% of his wages, which would've made a kid who has never made a senior league appearance our highest paid player, which obviously we didn't fancy. Assume that we're going back in the hope that Allardyce does his mate a favour.

Not sure what to make of Ricky Miller. When he was down here he was bang average. One decent strike against Tranmere but nothing special. That said he has been profilic in the Conference and Posh must have seen something in him. Unless he has really improved in the last 2 years I don’t see him pulling up trees.

Realise this may be rich considering we house a certain Mr Hylton but Miller clearly has some disciplinary issues which need to be resolved. Was suspended and sacked here after getting shitfaced at the Christmas do and alledgedly racially abusing a taxi driver (charges were dropped or he was found innocent). Then the ban for biting someone at Dover and now charged with hitting a copper.

I imagine he will do a job for someone in League 2 if they can keep on the pitch.

We've signed defender Alex Whittle from York. Although they're a bigger club than us, they are a couple of divisions lower and apparently he doesn't get in their team regularly.

Apparently he's committed to Cooper's style of play. That he's mid-twenties and hasn't cracked on (I.E. he is off the pace in National League North) doesn't seem to matter. Is this shite really the best we can attract?

A deal we didn’t get over the line in the summer has just been confirmed.

The irish Kante, Fuad Sule has signed from Bohemian. He won their player of the year last season.
