Niggly injuries and a fair bit of timber didn’t help. Looked good when he played.

Not when I've seen him. Can only really describe him as a drunken oaf lost in a garden centre. I must have picked the bad games to see him!

Hopefully he's going to be transformed this season.

Diagouraga was genuinely brilliant during his spell with us. Transformed our midfield. Odd that he hasn't found that form elsewhere.
Toums should be running games every week at this level. Last season he started off poorly then got injured and hasn't had a look in under Wellens. Really hope he impresses Wellens in pre season because he's a brilliant player.

Rohan Ince appears a great signing for Cheltenham. Seems to have massively gone off the boil since his loan spell with us though.

He’s just one of those players I took to immediately. Some classy touches.

Mind you, I thought that about Fabien Robert, too!

I liked Robert as well. Just shows you that more often than not, football fans have no clue about players!

You do realise that 99% of us slag ex players off and say they are dog turd, ( apart from Bury fans with Mr Mayor ).
Nice to see a good review, that said he'll probably not sign now.
He gave his all for us, is fairly quick, can score and for a winger/ striker can do his defensive duties well. A good shape man. Even though he is 6.3/6.4, just don’t expect him to win many headers. Luton fans did not think much of him, and he did not seem to tear up trees at Wimbledon. However, I suspect his level is League 2 rather than 1, and he should do well for you.

Nicky Ajose has apparently been training with us today so the assumption is that he’s going to sign.

I know Mansfield fans said he’s shite but he’s worth a punt as he’s got some pedigree and only 27.

To be honest, I doubt we could get anyone much better as strikers with a decent previous record are at a premium.

Fair enough. He can’t be a shit player considering he scored 20 odd in L1 not too long ago.

Just hope he signs as we need a different type of forward option.

He’s worth a punt 100% but will not come cheap wage wise I imagine, he’s more than capable of a decent returns in goals/assists at this level.

Needs a big lump hold up workhorse type alongside plus a decent midfielder to play him in behind.

I’d have had him back but we’ve got his position filled.

I’d expect more Danny Rose bids in shortly from other L2 clubs.

Ajose is a good player and can be a lethal finisher.

In his last spell with us I did notice him swaggering around a bit thinking he's the bollocks, came across a tad lazy.

In the right circumstances though he's bagging a truck load.

Bowman alongside him and the creativity from Law should tick those boxes

Looks like the Dan Ballard from Arsenal is a goer.

Strange loan as the opinion of the Gooners is he should be around the first team. Already called up by Norn Ire first XI.

Can’t be worse than the last loanee we had from them - BOO.

Our squad is really starting to take shape now, with the signing of John o Sullivan. Max Clayton is also training with us so that’s probably going to be the striker we sign. Very happy with this transfer window so far

Keeper isn’t he? Dominant handling at corners!
Wasn't him that handled it. That was Jordan Williams. BOO stayed down in the corner after being obliterated (feigned injury) and you should never have had the corner that followed! I should not be digging this all up.

Following season Pope did Preston’s ACL after a dreadful tackle.

That Vale lot are a bunch, alright! I’m sure it was them that had a black fella up front that was a right dirty cnut. He may have gone to Cambridge or Colchester - one of those outposts anyway.

The blame always goes to the top, but ultimately some players share some responsibility too, I probably know more about what went wrong in comparison to you, to be fair - sort of a benefit from watching the games every weekend.

Anyway Cook is 28, which is a big difference in football to start off with, more importantly Cook has actually had a half decent season with a relegated side in L1 while being fairly well rated by Walsall, Grimsby, and Tranmere fans where Miller has had about 3 good games in his entire EFL career.

Nothing is a given in football, but the chances of Cook being a good signing in comparison to Miller is pretty significant - He is far from proven after one half decent season but at least it was L1 - Miller has not even got remotely close to that, so the comparison doesn’t work.
Cook will be excellent in League Two. He scored 25-30 goals in both of his National League seasons with us and looked a better finisher than Norwood in that period.

He leads the line really well and is a natural goalscorer.

O'Sullivan's record in his three game loan spell suggests otherwise:
Game 1, started v Port Vale, booked early, substituted after 34 minutes to avoid a red card.
Game 2, started v Bury in the cup. Not sure why he didn't get booked, was subbed after 57 minutes for ineptitude.
Game 3, Swindon away. Decided to avoid an early substitution by getting sent off after 12 minutes...

You'd probably be better off getting The Boat Ashore back from Macclesfield!
