Just in time for Doyle to get a hatful against us next week, nobody has scored more goals against us in the last 10 years then Doyle. I fully expect a hat trick.

From Wellens press conference today

BBC Wilts asked RW whether the club are making active moves to sign Doyle back.

There was a long pause before a smirk and another "let's just see what happens".

I don’t know the loan rules enough, is it over? Could Bradford negotiate and loan/sell him back before the end of the month?

Yep. Which is what we hope will happen. Its a blow for sure. Hopefully we are looking to now negotiate a permanent deal. Interesting few weeks ahead!

If we sell him, Swindon will be forced to cough up a fair chunk for a League Two poacher whose contract is almost up.

Again, either way, it’s a win-win for us.

Or Doyle makes it even clearer he doesn’t want to play for Bradford and you cut your losses.

Or we sign Brett Pitman. Either or is good for me.

Let’s be clear; he’s a professional whose contract is up in the summer. He has an opportunity to put himself into the shop window, by not just doing well at one club, but two in the same season.

All this nonsense regarding Doyle being very unhappy at Bradford is utter tosh. He’s said all the right things at a club he’s been on loan at, and understandably, he wanted to stay to continue his fine form/development - I get it. We had the same thing with Shay McCartan at Lincoln last season.

Doyle looked really unhappy when he lashed home his pen in front of the KOP against Liverpool with just shy of 25,000 in attendance, didn’t he. Things change very quickly.

But as said, he’s contracted to us. He’s a pro. I don’t see there being any behavioural issues. Infact, according to my mate who has been down to watch training this morning, he appears to be anything but unhappy.

Have to agree it's win win for Bradford, either he goes back to Swindon and Bradford get more money, or he plays well for Bradford to put himself in shop window for next season or he really his unhappy and he rots in the reserves for the rest of season not helping a promotional rival.

It’s the hope that kills you, welcome back Eoin. Sorry this seems that it’s going to drag on till deadline day on the off chance Power wins the Euromillions and puts in a bid (which he’s had all season to sort out should the funds exist).

Bradford might well like the idea of Doyle staying the month. Deprives us of his services for 4 games.

Let’s be honest, there’s an awful lot of face saving to be done at Bradford. In some ways, it’s actually a lose-lose situation for them.

You recall the country’s leading scorer, can’t get a tune out of him and have to offload him again. Bowyer must be dreading it.

There’s no point really leaving it til the end of the window cos any money you may squeeze out of us will be no use as the window is shut.

It’s why Wellens thinks it’ll happen next week.

Why would they be reading this thread if they were bored of it? This is the Eoin Doyle thread, isn't it?

Well, we’ve had statements from both clubs, both managers and yet the star of the show has been ominously silent.

No scarf above the head shot, no ‘delighted to be back’ statement.

Scarf over head? None of that ever happens when a player gets recalled from a loan?
