Excellent. Intelligent player and works harder than he's given credit for because he's got that languid running style. Always picks up a couple of small-medium injuries a season though. Did that in all of his three seasons with us. I think he'll do well for Bradford if they're going to get the ball down and play.
Is he a number 10 or more CM?

Antoni Sarcevic has turned down a new contract offer at Stockport and is rumoured to instead be signing for a L2 club that begins with 'C' and are one of the early favourites to be challenging for promotion next season.

But which one?

Bradford doesn't start with a 'C' mate, or did you mean City?

Tim Akinola, basically a younger Mike Jones. Proper ball winner, can run all day and loves a tackle, but as spireite said, also very skilful & technical in how he drives with the ball.

Looking forward to having him back, was a fan of his last time round and thought he should have played more than he did actually. Full of potential.

Odd that sarcevic could turn down a contract at stockport as though he played often for stockport looked a weak link and it’s hard to say how he’d make league 1 anyway.

Offered nothing of note against mansfield though appreciate a rather limited sample size!.

You were in for him according to our forum.

He turned down a contract because Bradford offered longer terms and possibly more money than the new contract we offered.

He was never a weak link for us. Overall, I would say he was the best midfielder we had last season (Collar was injured for the majority, Powell was in fits and starts, Camps only got going near the end) and we were the champions.

Carver, honestly…

You believe the most unreliable shit for brains Twitter sources around. That account and the 50 like it are well known for making up nonsense at this time of year. I’ve just had a quick scan and they haven’t got a single rumour about us right over the past few of years. Not one.

The kid behind the account sits in his box room with two hats full of little pieces of paper. One with every out of contract footballer on it and the other with every League 1 and 2 club on it. He picks one out of each hat, puts the two together and just like that he has a rumour.

And you believe it… :ffs:

i wish we could terminate a few of our players’ contracts by mutual consent.

I know carver is talking about promotions and titles already but in the real world we have a hell of a lot of work to do in terms of incomings and outgoings before we can even think about top half let alone playoffs, promotions, finals, titles etc.

As I’ve said previously, first and foremost we need to get rid of some of the in contract losers. We can’t go into the season with such a large portion of our squad being the serial losers of last season, no matter who comes in.

Our owners just released a statement yesterday explaining that there has been a significant increase in the playing budget for this summer and there is no doubt that their serious aim is promotion.

So it should be easy to just spend all our problems away. :£

Cheers, Stocky. Definitely need some intelligence in midfield.

Our fans are already having a meltdown because we haven't signed anyone all because Chesterfield and Mansfield have signed the odd player.
Love this time of year - the season hasn't even finished and some fans are guaranteed to lose their shit over a lack of signings.

Carver I saw on Twitter earlier Carlisle have been linked with Nigerian CB Finga Mabumoule who is described as being great at keeping it really tight at the back. Sounds promising for you. :)

Does he even exist?

I just googled him but I couldn't find anything about him. Who has he played for and what's so funny about him?

Strong rumours that Sarcevic has just been spotted checking out of Bradford Travellodge and getting into Mark Bonners car instead.
Apparently it’s always been his dream to play for Gillingham.
Even in jest I wouldn't take him - I'm sure he has them but I've never seen him have a good game despite the positive reviews. Seems to be a lot of fluff, not a lot of substance.

I really liked him when he played against us for you and thought he'd be a good signing for us.
Yep I definitely don’t mind this one at all.

I think it means we will move Oldaker and/or Banks on and will definitely strengthen our cover

Definitley has substance. Been a quality player for us helping us to win the NL and L2. He's got that skill of always finding space. Maybe doesn't stand out because he's not a busy fool. He's intelligent. All our good runs of form in the last 3 years, he's been apart of. Have a look at the reaction to him leaving from our supporters who watch him week in week out in what has been a successful side.

Fans are pretty much always right over a period of time who's good and who flatters to deceive.

nah

Nothing our end, he wouldn’t have got close to our midfield the season just gone let alone this.

I'm in several minds. Either.... we are thinking mike jones will be a bit part player this season... or we want rid of oldaker... who I think is vastly overrated. Or... Banks is being touted by doncaster.

I'd much rather have Sarcevic than Jonny Williams. I think you did us a big favour kidnapping him from that hotel in Bradford last summer.

2 signings set to be confirmed in the next 48 hours. I'm guessing the Stockport pair Croasdale and Sarcevic?

Whoever it is, I cannot remember us signing players so early in the summer before, in fact, it's still Spring isn't it

Hopefully for Sarcevic and maybe Croasdale's sake they're playing for a manager by October who doesn't instruct the team to kick the ball over their heads.

They are decent signings for Bradford you'd imagine.

Except scoring that worldie at the Mill in 2022.

Stockport were in front after 53 minutes. Antoni Sarcevic received the ball 25 yards from goal, he took a touch and fired a fantastic shot into the top right corner of the net giving Pym no chance. It was a wonderful goal, though he wasn’t closed down.
