Lindon Meikle having a medical at Newport apparently.

Newport fans need to prepare themselves to be laughed at by Mansfield fans.

If we manage to palm him off to another league club thats got to be the best bit of business ever. He is f*****g s***e!

Rumours that Norwich and Wolves are interested in Ivan Toney. A 500k move to Wolves fell through earlier in the season so will be interesting to see what happens there.

Bolton seems like the best move for someone like him, there's been times this season where they've had to play Heskey so he'd be pretty much guaranteed playing time there.

This was just tweeted by someone at the club:

A real possibility that someone is going from contract agreement to wedding bells later today. I shall keep you informed ... #cufc

Come oooon please be Jason Kennedy!

Jason Kennedy signs a 2 year deal. Thank god for that because i'd just caught word about interest from a League 1 side, think he wants to be a starter instead of backup though.

Kennedy is a class midfielder at this level. Honestly thought he'd stay in league 1 after his performances at the back end of the season.

Great signing for us.

Yeah I was thinking at least a top League 2 club. Probably was a bit of interest in him but he's made it clear that its best for him and his family that he just finds somewhere he enjoys at his age.

Very suprised if true given he has failed to prove himself twice now at league level. I actually though he started out the season as one of our better players before going downhill. A solid player at conference level and certainly puts in 100% which is more than many, good luck to him.

He probably thought we were going to be a top league 2 club, until about 5pm tonight when Nixon decided to fuck the clubs future up.

John Still confirmed in his interview yesterday that Jack Marriott is set to sign for us. Good first piece of business I feel.

I hope it turns out to be so. 20 years old and playing in front of your crowd hmm. Also has a poor scoring record. Those goals he has scored have been at conf level. A Still gamble.

Ogogo sounds like we're pretty confident of doing a deal from the way Still talked about him publicly. Very unlikely to go full public with a name like that if he didn't think it was likely IMHO. Wonder what that means for the Harriman deal? I know the Daggers fans rated Ogogo as too good for this level.

Also Still said the Derverdics deal isn't happening - shows what Sky Sports know.

EDIT - just seen that Still said the Harriman deal is still on and thinks that will be done. Wonder who will be first choice right back if we get Ogogo and Harriman?

Ogogo is a central midfielder these days I believe - won't be direct competition with Harriman. He said Williams may still have future at the club - if he proves his fitness so there's your potential cover at right back. Great news that Lee Angol has got a new deal too - 26? I think goals last year for Boreham Wood as they won promotion.

Happy for Jack, as long as he doesn't score against the Cobblers that is

One of the Daggers fans on here the other day said his primary position was still right back and he was far better there than he was in CM so not sure about that. I expect we'll loan Williams out regardless in order to prove his fitness. Likewise I expect Robinson will be shipped out on long-term loan, who Still suggested wasn't out the door yet.

Angol hasn't signed a new deal, just been offered one. One of the ITK types on Outlaws (less reliable than West Side Vinny but more reliable than most others) has claimed multiple times now that Angol is refusing to sign a new deal and has another club lined up, and that our offer is only to net us some compensation as the coaches aren't convinced he is good enough anyway. It'll be interesting to see how that one plays out.

Truth be told, I'm sort of relieved about the Derverdics thing not happening. Never seen him play so I might be completely wrong, but it seemed like a weird signing on every level (central midfield being the area where we least need new additions, 27-year old from bang-average Conference team screaming of the crap signings made last summer etc).

Sorry I worded the Angol news wrongly - I'd be surprised if he left.

We've signed Michael Raynes on a 1 year deal.

What a fucking dog shit signing that is! List Archibald-Henville and sign Raynes. :bang:

Got to be as backup considering we've just released O'Hanlon as well.

We've confirmed Jack Marriott on an initial one-year deal (with a view to more years depending).

We've signed two players but aren't releasing their names yet as they are still under contract at their clubs. So presumably they have been offered a new deal but aren't going to accept it.

Did nothing for us in his loan spell at the start of last season
Don't think it'd be fair to judge him on that loan seeing as nobody in our team was doing anything at that stage. IIRC he was only brought in as a favour from McCarthy to Kavanagh so he probably didn't even want to be here in the first place.

Troy Archibald-Henville was transfer listed here. He probably favours a move down south. Could it be?

I wouldn't have thought we would be paying a fee, so if he's listed by you, I would imagine you want one. Be more inclined to think it's a player out of contract that has been offered a new deal and is in the 28 day period to let his club know whether he will accept it.

We'd be letting him go for free I think. He's contracted for another year but isn't wanted any more so I think it'd be pretty much like signing a free agent.

Could be a goer then. We've only got one centre back signed up and one considering a new deal.

We don't want a fee, we want rid. He's a quality quality footballer, far too good for this level. But he's like Ledley King, his knee doesn't allow him to train more than twice a week.
Our manager wants more consistency in our back 4/5.

His wages are high mind, I don't know what your situation is with being able to pay high wages...
