I fail to see your logic , by that logic , your away support this season is fucking tragic ..
Our home support is barely above what yours was , and we are taking more on average ..if we pissed the league it would be far higher than 1300 FACT..
And please stop with the size of the club shite , we are where we are and nothing more than a medium sized club ..never been anything more
And rightly fucking so, you're based geographically closer to many more clubs than we were last season, and will have to travel far less miles! Our away support has been fine, considering we've had Ipswich and Boro away, which are our two furthest, and we've had PNE and Brighton on a Tuesday night. The only game within 2 and a half hours we sold our 2,600 allocation, something which Coventry failed to do yesterday.

However you dress it up, it's a shit following. You should be selling that out, given you could potentially taste your first bit of success in 2897 years this year.

If Coventry are this supposed big club/sleeping giant that your fans have made out to be in the past on here, then 1,600 is a shit following. It is shit.

And that contradicts what your other fans have told me.

1,600 for Coventry is a shit following given the circumstances. Get over it.

Coventry City taking 1600 away for a game 2 hours away in league 1 is nothing other than superb. Any following in league 1 over 1000 is a good effort. Shelf United will always take more than others and Gillingham and Colchester will always have lower averages as they travel 7000 miles every week ands 1000 miles for a local derby.

The fact that some fans think that a team taking 1600 away in any league shows the state of the modern football fan.

FRITHY - The home to away ratio is very important don't you think as it shows the size of your club which is a very club compared to most outside the championship and half of those in the championship and then shows how many of these actually are true fans of the club. Oldham taking 70% of their away support away is far more impressive than Bradford taking 8% of theirs. Especially when bradford fans think 1296 is poor when they took 1400 for a trip half the distance....Oh sorry you took 4000 but they lied about it...hahahaha

Just in case anyone missed it due to that riveting debate, here's the table again with Burton's 405 at Fleetwood last Saturday now included

Regardless of them boycotting home games and generally being shite, those Blackpool numbers are horrendous bar the opening day.

Only Colchester, Crewe, Fleetwood and Shrewsbury worse than them.

Do you have to pass some sort of test to be a 'true' fan? We get it, our home attendances are inflated by the cheap season tickets and clearly they don't travel. That said, per my last post re our numbers being largely dictated by form, if we were in your position (or higher) we'd be taking a lot more away.

For example, in our first season back in L1 in 13/14 we took approaching 3000 to PNE for a midweek game around this stage of the season when we were doing better than currently, 3000 to Barnsley last season when the game was on Sky on a Sunday etc.

As it stands, despite our recent results we haven't been playing particularly well and we're still only mid table. As a result, our away numbers are generally down hence the (relatively) poor figures at Oldham and Rochdale. Even then, we've taken what I'd suggest are decent numbers to Swindon (1025), sold out at Fleetwood (1365), 2584 to Doncaster. We'd usually take more to Barnsley but 1800 is still OK.

It's a bit rich for Wigan to be taking the piss in that respect, particularly given your following yesterday.

Feel free to keep quoting the home/away %, but like I said earlier I don't really read much into it. Out of interest, what do you think would be an appropriate percentage for us?

Not at all, they claim to take excellent numbers away from home.

Fully understand why they're not attending home games but no reason why they shouldn't watch their team away, in fact, there should be more incentive to do so. I'm sure their numbers will pick up if they continue this unbeaten run, regardless of nasty Oyston.

Who on here actually travels to their clubs away games? I travel to most of ours, might miss one or two a season and I quite like seeing the away numbers high but as long as I'm at the game then I don't really care, in fact sometimes the low away followings of 200/300 make for a better away day/night, so why do some of you get really worked up about an away following?

There numbers are about standard for blackpool arent they?

I go to most only 1 missed this year in all comps due to being abroad. I fully disagree with you about being a better away day when less go though. Our longer distance games are wank just full of boring c*** who wanna sit down all game drinking cups of tea.

Usually do about 12-14 a season, dependant on how we're doing. Like Blademan, I disagree with that, I much prefer bigger followings and more high profile games, such as local games, or games of huge significance etc.

Not sure what they averaged down here last time to be honest, but they like to claim they're better supported on the road than us. (Based solely on the season they won the Championship play-offs and we were struggling I think.)

Even when we were bottom half in this league and hating life under Graham Westley, we were taking double what they do.

Your a bigger and better supported club than blackpool of that there is no doubt.

Sometimes they can be crap but most of the time they are good, must be down to the amount of alcohol we drink before. Crawley away on a Tuesday last season was great as was Orient.

Fair enough, high profile games and games of huge significance I agree but local games can get really boring probably as we have too many of them.

I went to every away last season other than Crawley, Gillingham, Coventry, Colchester, Peterborough and Orient. Missed a couple this season but generally get to all the away games I can, while I still can.

Oops, totally forgot about Vale/Burton. I'll wait and see if there's an official figure released, if not I'll just bung 1500 in.

We averaged 11k at home, which was maximum capacity every single game, and in away support, the difference is, you live in the Midlands, so northern and southern games are much more within your reach. We didn't have many games within 2 hours of Bristol last season, but whenever we did, we sold far more than 1,600. That is a shit following yesterday - it was a year ago last week that we played Coventry away, we were flying at the top of L1, we took 4k to you. You haven't even managed half of that to a journey that is the same distance.
tbf we are a big club and the Ricoh is a superb stadium so its no surprise your away support upped your game when you visited us.

Coventry at the Ricoh or Swindon at the County ground, unfair comparison really.
