Both reds were correct for the challenges made, the issue was nobody seems to know why or when Neves got his first yellow. In real time it looked like Neves was booked for a tackle Doherty made.

As for the Costa incident, I took this from rewinding Sky. It's very slight but there is defintely contact

Yeah I think there must have been contact as there’s literally no other reason for him to go down, he’s not lost control of the ball and he’s through on goal.

I did like the way the commentator kept saying why would Costa go down in that situation.

erm...they have watched modern day football and footballers over the years haven't they !?

In this case there was slight contact though - Pulis would have been screaming for a foul had that been the other way round.

I presume Neves was book for dissent in the first incident.

Neves fouled Traore just before Doherty did, the ref just didn't stop the game at that point as Traore was still going.

They showed on Channel 5 that Friend did clip Costa's heel so it should have been a red card, but there's no excuse for Wolves' meltdown.

Yeah I saw but I don’t think he booked him for the attempted foul. When Doherty eventually fouls him, Neves sprints straight to Attwell and goes mental at him over the Costa decision and I’m fairly sure that’s what it was for. Anyway, pretty irrelevant really.

Agree with Tom. If the foul on Costa is given the two reds afterwards don't happen, simple as that. The players lost their heads due to the sheer incompitence of refereeing decisions this season. I think Nuno needs to have a word behind closed doors regarding the discipline as it came close to costing us a very deserved win.

I stand behind what I said about Stuart Attwell. He is one of these egotistical referees that think the game is all about him (Clattenburg is the same). The trouble is the FA back them up in every situation, so they're essentially untouchable. Make a wrong decison that costs a team the game and you're supposed to just deal with it.

Says it all that after a great win like that, and all we talk about is the refereeing decisions.
