Like the way Harris goes to charge it down, then get dizzy and not really give a shit when it's actually taken in the end.

That was the best bit for me. He was like a dog jumping for a ball that you repeatedly pretend to throw.

Not good enough to start for Tranmere against the likes of Dover.. but first choice against Man Utd. Great stuff.

Ha! Tonight`s Northern Premier League game between Hyde and Whitby will kick off at 9pm after Whitby where caught in traffic!

Must have been some serious traffic problems. They didnt arrive at the ground till 8.35! :eye:

Has anyone known a later kick off?

Even Ebbsfleet at Barrow (I think) kicked off before 9pm? Joe?

I can challenge that!
My local step 5 team Congleton Town were away at Runcorn Linnets back in October on a Tuesday night. However traffic from a motorway accident in the Runcorn area meant that the Congleton players missed the kick off so the match was delayed. By 9:00, 10 players had finally arrived but the manager and the goalkeeper were both still stuck in traffic in the same car. Congleton eventually agreed to kick off without their manager and with 10 men and an outfield player in goal just as the match was meant to be finishing!
And if it couldn't get any worse for the Bears, they lost to a goal in the 87th minute.... surely the latest goal ever scored!

That's definitely worse considering the respective distances.

Something like happened to us away at Lincoln once, think we eventually kicked off not long before 9pm after getting lost and caught in traffic. Even had the cheek to go and win as well.

You did. 2nd November 2007 IIRC - the day before my birthday. Friday night and Peter Jackson's first game in charge. 8.45pm KO. Certainly one of the weirdest night time kick off experiences.

You won 1-0 through one of the dodgiest penalties you're every likely to see. We had what looked like a perfect goal ruled out and Jackson got a fine (and a touchline ban?) for hurling abuse at Trevor Kettle at FT.

Calling him a 'footie ace' is still the most exaggerated part of that headline.

Stags must be getting complacent now that Mansfield have spent so long back in the FL ;) I take your Newport and raise you a Dartford, or even a Braintree!

No I'm kidding of course, Newport's pitch does this at this time of the season every year. Frustrating but that's rugby for you.

Didn't realise that many Grimsby fans had been turfed out of our gaffe. Oh well, if you will behave like typical northern monkeys....

Looking forward to "battering" you on Friday. ;)

We dream about having a meat raffle!

I won it once, a few years back. The SC used to run one on away trips sometimes as well as at home. Had to lug a joint of beef in a Morrisons bag to the pub and then home with me on the train, on a hot day. Good times.

Quite good odds on you winning that quite regularly though really, a 1 in 4 chance between you and the other 3 people on the coach.
