Yoshimi was my choice. I love the Flaming Lips and this album is probably my favourite of theirs. It's a bit of a concept album but it has some lovely songs on it. Fight Test, Do You Realise and Are You a Hypnotist probably being the most accessible as stand along songs.

(We'll gloss over the Cat Stevens plagiarism controversies)

Unsurprisingly, Reign in Blood was my choice. Absolutely insane album, when it was released in 1986 there was nothing faster, louder or heavier than it, and no one has truly taken that away from them since the release 30 years a go, love this album.

Can't see anything to rival Carter here. The Flaming Lips is not a bad album as is The Verve (both of which I have) but they get a bit boring after regular listening and the other 2 nominations just aren't my cup of tea, but 101 Damnations still gets a regular airing in my car, a superb album from start to finish which contains one of the best songs ever in Sheriff Fatman.

No worries, you got my vote. But there was something heavier and louder, though not necessarily faster. Discharge's Hear Nothing. Just saying Cards ;)

I read an interview on Mojo mag on the making of this album, and strangely enough it was Rick Rubin who insisted the band put more references to Satan in the lyrics. He was the one who kept demanding 'More Satan!'. Anyway, I got two copies of this on vinyl, the German edition and the US version, and the US is my fav simply because it's louder!

Listened to Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots on the way home, I'd forgotten what a great album it is. Get voting folks.
