Smashed 0-3 at home by Bromley. So annoying. We weren't dreadful, and they weren't amazing, but a counter attack and two free-kicks did us over.
Was impressed by Roger Johnson marshalling their defence, but less than impressed by the cheating c*** Higgs, who feigned being kicked in the face when the boot was a good foot away, and then continued the charade for a full minute. Little prick.

We just didn't adapt to the conditions and gave away too many sloppy passes.

Also, how has Vose ended up there??? Scored a wonder goal/total fluke, but surely he's too good for this level?

Sounded like Aldershot thoroughly took us apart and it could have been a few more, nobody has really done that to us this season. Aldershot will still win this league.

Maidstones number 9 loves an elbow twice he got away with elbowing our defenders in the face, just before and just after half time, clever about it too on the blind side of the officials .

Solid rovers performance went 2 up then sat back and counter attacked banks ran the show from midfield and our full backs were excellent.

Little number 7 jones was funny responding to the crowd winding him up over his awful corners... top lad .

Torquay, sutton , guiseley then fylde twice need 11 points from that run

Up to the heady heights of eleventh and only eight points off first place. Stranger things have happened.

Cook and Norwood look as sharp as they have all season and young Eddie Clarke has been a revelation at left back. I don't think he will be at this level too long.

The scoreline was perhaps slightly harsh on Maidstone who had a couple of chances when it was 2-0, but we were clinical and they were woeful defensively. The Stones fans stayed with their team as always.

Today I have witnessed the worst display from my team I’ve ever seen in my 23 years of supporting them, no doubt it, we were pathetic.

Awful tactically and awful in terms of effort, it was so bad the fans didn’t even boo at the end, Ross Embleton came over and aplogised to the fans and a few of the players did as well, but we were appalling.

Jake Caprices frustration turned to unprofessionalism as he decided to butcher the Torquay player after he lost the ball having no help from his team mates.

Unless the new manager, whoever he is can get us even remotely organised we will go down, I’ve never seen a team with such little direction and commitment. We kept getting caught countless times on the break and conceding chances.

It’s all down to our owners now, either pay the money for one of the better coaches or we are down, simple as that.

Torquay to their credit played well and that showing have half a chance of staying up.

fylde passed the ball well
the goal was the 1 time a dover centre back tried to be flash just outside the area, he was robbed by rowe who fired in.
your keeper made 3 good saves but we were poor going forward

One that got away today, should have won by a street, but can I just thank Chester, Barrow and Guisly for being quite a bit more shit than we are. Even staring 3-1 in the face we took comfort that you useless bastards were doing even worse than we were. :bdick:

Did what we needed to do well today in awful conditions. Barrow might see us as a bogey side considering we have outscored then 14-3 since we were promoted to this level. Roger Johnson has been an inspiration at the back when fit. I really hope we can extend his contract past January.

When the opposition brings on a 36 year-old Grant Holt, whose legs have clearly gone, you know you're comfortable.

The awful realisation came upon me today during our woeful 2nd half performance against a bang average Dagenham side that we will be playing Conference North football next season. I feel sorry for Marcus Bignot, who through no fault of his own is saddled with the worst squad of players that this club has had for 25 years. Thank you Mr Askey for Halls and McCombe, 2 of the worst players that have represented Chester FC in the 57 years I've supported them

Curious that since Mickey Mellons crunch talks with the board we top the form table in the league (10 games). Whilst we are nowhere near as consistent as last season, the real lack of a front runner is keeping us right in the mix.

Last minute goals conceded away at Aldershot, Gateshead & Macclesfield in our last three away games have undoubtedly cost us however in the short term at least.

5 players out injured, 2 academyplayers on the bench, part-time team and we go back to the top. Kind of funny

You didn't need to work hard either. That was by far the poorest performance I've seen from us with this Cox team.

Before we played North Ferriby I said you were the worst team I've seen at Aggborough since us in our relegation season. I hope Bignot turns it around but think he's been left with a job that's too big unfortunately.

If Hartlepool could have created some chances in the two spells they were on top, they could have got something from yesterday. We were solid though and clinical up top. For once, playing Kedwell up top worked for us as the wingers got forward a lot, which doesn't normally happen! Coulson playing centrally is the game changer for us, the lad can play.

No game for us next week, so gives us chance to ease Dave Winfield and Jack Payne back into the squad. We're after a new striker too.

If the crunch talks had happened in July they'd be walking this league.
It's been a bizarre one because despite the disastrous start the majority of fans haven't put the blame on the manager, it seems very apparent that Mellon didn't have control of the summer transfers and too many players were brought in that are not good enough for Tranmere. He's proceeded to loan those players out and bring in a few that he prefers and our form has turned around.

After scoring 8 in the first 12 games we've scored 17 in the following 10. Our shot to goal ratio is still the worst in the league but we're creating endless chances. If only someone could teach James Norwood how to score a one on one..

Orient game will be interesting on Saturday
Yesterday we put in the worst performance I've ever seen from a group of players since I've been a fan, discipline and desire appears to have left the playing side we've got.

Unless we can get any sort of new manager in by next weeks game, You will probably beat us. Our board have seriously got to make a decision this week.

We've now gone 1/3 of the season without winning and these bad and lazy habits the players have picked up under Davis and Embleton show no signs of going away.

After the way chester supporters behaved at the final whistle at our place i really hope its us or wrexham that send them down that bank of blacon rats running at us from behind the police cordon and making pretend injections in their arms whilst shouting smackheads will not be forgotten . Please, please , please let it be us so i can walk through chester in my tranmere top .

I am not sure I believe Mellon had no control of recruitment in the summer, as that seems to be a line that Mike Jackson has spun. However, there is no doubt that bad signings in the close season are what have held us back.

FGR changed personnel mid-season last year and still got promoted, so hopefully the same can work for us.

We’ve been bang average all season yet find ourselves 2pts off top. Aldershot have had a similar season by the sounds. If only we’d had last season’s team this season...

Still, 3 wins in a row for the first time all season so let’s see if we can keep this going for a bit. Someone has to put a run together and hopefully it’s us
