You should be further ahead IMO. As you said, lost one game game all season, and had a striker in a ridiculous purple patch scoring every game. It definitely feels like you should be more than five points ahead of us with how it kind of feels like both teams have done so far, probably the same with some of the others just behind you.
Let’s also not forget we’ve a game in hand on Halifax & Stockport and two on Wrexham & Bromley

As Dan said, being top as we head into 2022 with the injuries we’ve had is an achievement in itself !

Did you SEE Stockport at The Shay this year?
Yes and they were better side first half, but they were playing Rusk ball at the time. Dominated 2nd half against them, if season carries on like it is. The last game of the season away to Stockport could be interesting. Wrexham didn’t deserve to win against us. Notts county at home will never happen again.

We won’t win league, but we will have a say in who does.

We're going UP this year. Time you started to believe it. We're second in the league on goal difference, today we went to the leaders and favourites and played them off the park in the first half and matched them over the 90 minutes. We have as good a chance as anybody, and better than most. Remember Barrow? Macclesfield? Sutton? If they can do it, I'll be darned if we can't. If following a football team isn't about hope, what the fuck IS it about?:bdick:

Never said we won’t go up. Just don’t think we will win league. If league stays like this till end of the season. Then Stockport’s run in is an interesting one. Think they play Borehamwood, Wrexham, Chesterfield and ourselves(Halifax) to finish the season. Will be some big crowds there.

Reading Twitter, it appears as if it kicked off between chesterfield and Halifax fans after the game. Anyone seen/heard anything. Think it was between those types who don’t mind getting involved if you get my drift.

About 10 minutes after the game a few coppers went steaming past (well breathing heavily at a fast waddle), but didn’t look to have been more than a few handbags between people who were looking for it

If Chesterfield keep hold of Tshimanga then they will be right in the mix, Stockport are turning into what we all expected. If we challenge or not completely depends on who we bring in during the window. The fact we are in the top bunch with no midfield (bar Davies) is a miracle

How are Halifax financially? I can see them losing 1 on 2 in Jan, if they can replace them well enough or even keep and strengthen then we can't rule them out at all.
Going to be a tight race this year

We basically break even. Which makes Wild such a decent manager at this level. We haven’t spent any money since start of season, only had Newby and Vale in on loan. Wild said he specifically didn’t use all budget at start of the season. Says he has money to strengthen if need be, but it won’t be any big money signings if any that’s for sure.

Fair play to Stockport, it takes a good team to win at the Moors ground this season and they've done it. They will be there or there about at the end of the season under Challinor for sure

Wild has claimed he is under no pressure to sell anyone in January. I hope that is true.

The partnership of Maher and Bradbury at the back is key for us. They've been sensational together all season. A fair amount of the goals we have conceded have come when Bradbury was out and the partnership was broken up. That's the one area of weakness I can see.

He also said NOBODY will be leaving in January, they're looking to tie players down for longer, not offload. He's waiting to see how Stenson and MacDonald look before he brings more in.

It's just as odd to discount us at this stage. The thought process that we'll tail off keeps getting funnier every week ;)

Well it's not even the half way point of the season, no-one should be discounted at this stage.

As far as Halifax goes of course you.cpuld win the league, but given the resources available to a number of your rivals- especially with the depth of their squads and ability to strengthen further, it would be an astonishing achievement if you won the league.

We've been on your situation a couple.of times, and when it reaches the last few weeks of the season and there is nothing in the tank its hard to keep the pace up. This is why Barrow struck lucky the other season, because they were getting caught 100%

Be incredibly tough for us to win the league. There is no reason we cant have one of the high placed playoff places.

Stockport County.
Who Wrexham buy in January is an important factor of course.

I'm sure they'll bring 3-4 in, probably from higher leagues or top players from this league.

Annoyingly Rodrigues’ never-ending one match yellow card ban has rolled over again for it. We should be well-rested though if nothing else.
Convenient isn't it :£

I think Rowe has a bit of a personal thing with Gunning. He must really like his leadership qualities I reckon, because provided he can stand he seems to play, regardless of performance level or fitness. Grimes been a colossus.. Sorry dude my right hand man is back.
The decision to drop Grimes was criminal. No way Gunning should have been on the pitch. He needs a mini pre season to get fit again.

These Chesterfield lot aren’t that bad after WHAT THEY DID! Happy to see us getting some rare praise. Was a good game between two good sides.

As for the comments regarding our squad/squad depth. It sounds like we are trying to keep the whole squad in January. If we can keep our squad together, have a bit of luck with injuries and bring in another quality player or two we’ve a great chance of competing. Asking for a lot there admittedly but our strongest 11 is up there as one of the best in the league. We just lack that bit of spark off the bench especially with Newby now gone.

I’m not saying you won’t, and you did beat us, but unless you strengthen, really didn’t rate you compared to Stockport or Chesterfield. Notts county were a decent side as well.
You didn't rate us, who beat you, compared to Stockport who you beat 3-0? I get it with Chesterfield a bit, but come on.

Signing Sbarra aren’t you? Not sure there’s room for him, Davies and Rodrigues!
Davies broke his collarbone earlier, we need an immediate replacement for him. Sbarra would replace Luke Young (who isn't good enough for a team challenging the top) but who replaces Davies?

I really didn’t, and that wasn’t being bitter about losing. Your second goal was smart play by Davies. The best team we have played at shay was Dagenham and we be beat them. I think Parkinson is the wrong manager for you. You played long diagonals all game and in first half and half of second Mullin looked a forlorn figure, when Hyde and Ponticelli came on, you improved . I go on other teams forum and I feel I’m pretty fair and give credit where it’s due. Even your fans st the time said it was a smash and grab. If you had a Challinor, Wild or Luke Garrard I think you can win the league at a canter with your resources, But Parkinson isn’t it.

Pretty decent away following for us that. What's annoying is that level of support is clearly there for us but unless it's a big game the vast majority simply can't be arsed to turn up to watch it.
YOU'RE not at half the home games yourself! :ffs:

I honestly don't know what he's on about with Stockport, but I didn't think too much to Wrexham either- seemed like a collection of quite talented individuals rather than a unit. A lot of them seemed to think rather too much of themselves, for me. :ds:

They were better side first half at shay were Stockport, until warburton scored free kick. I’m giving Stockport a pass for the 2nd half, cause Rusk was still their manager. Plus we are a good side.
