Rumoured you or Scarborough. Not sure how much truth in that, but he wasn't even on bench last night.
Really? Id be surprised at him pitching up at either former club. SUPPOSE I'd say more likely us as we are 'meh!' about him - was a squad player for us in the glue league 2nd div and couldnt get much game time then. Hasnt irritated us nor impressed us since. From what i gather he has seriously p!ssed off scarbro' fans, as part of all that business last christmas. Would be a very hard sell to their fanbase to bring him in so soon. Werent they pelting him wi' stuff when he scored and mocked them?

The Chambers have packed up their a' la carte menu and gone. Still don't see a way we survive because they've ruined us

Best bit of news to happen at Scunny in years and Bottega hasn’t commented.

Maybe pining for something from Nottinghamshire.

Curzon Ashton have loaned midfielder Rhys Hughes off us for a month. One of our development players, got a few first team games last season and looked promising, but neither manager this season has fancied him and been struggling with an unspecified injury. Main strength is his set pieces.

Curzon also taken midfielder Tommy McDermott on loan from us. Came through from the academy to our first team squad last season. Showed some promise even if he was played out of position at the start. Hopefully gets a bit more game time at Curzon than he did on loan at Rochdale where for whatever reason it didn’t work out. He’s a decent passer of the ball and has a little bit of an aggressive streak to him so will see how it goes.

I'm shocked you're celebrating the news, awful news for Grimsby fans like yourself

Chester play virtually a reserve side and exit the Trophy on penalties. No change there then.

An easily forgettable game at Chorley saw us progress with the only goal midway through second half a game of little quality from either side.

Comfortable win over Darlington, not our best performance but didn't really have to be

At 2-0 it felt like both teams just agreed that was the final result

Didn't see that one coming. Three nil win over Braintree, the lad we've taken on loan from Brackley was superb

Played on the worst artificial pitch you'll ever come across. Only a few months old as well.

We spanked South Shields 4-0, this after turning them over 1-0 in the league last week. For a full time team they seem really powder puff up front, whereas we seem back on it again after a 3 game blip a few weeks ago.

We play Southport on Tuesday night, two of their strikers are on loan from us.

No idea if they can play or not but if they can play and score, our fans are guaranteed to meltdown

From what I've heard Bennett can't play against you, and whilst Carver could play (there is no clause in the deal preventing him from doing so) there is a gentleman's agreement that we won't play him. It only seems fair given that you are probably still paying some of his wages.

Do you have some other striking options?

Brad Holmes (on loan from Blackpool), but he missed today with a back issue. After that it could be a case of playing Niall Watson or Josh Hmami out of position. We picked up a couple of knocks today too, so we really could be down to the bare bones.

Anticipating another flogging that didn't come about on the day, never really expected us to progress.

Concentrate on our next two home games, absolute must wins against Warrington and Rushall.

If you'd told me a week ago that we were about to have our worst week since Reformation I would have laughed, but it has come to pass. A horrid defeat to Darlington who were to lose their next game 8-0 and 2 x Cup exits, one to a team 2 leagues below us) and on pens (I can only think of one penalty shoot out win in the 64 Years I've been a fan). From believing we had a chance of winning it, by next Saturday we could be in the bottom 4. This is because we may struggle to put out a competitive team in those games owing to injuries and suspensions. One fit CH and our captain (who has found a new lease of life in a more forward role) may have to play CH. We usually have a pre-Christmas slump but this could be the biggest one ever.

We put out something of a scratch side yesterday, but must admit i hadnt expected radcliffe to be as good as they were. Wouldnt say they were amazing 1-11 but certainly had several players from a much better level- Alti etc. That fella Oyibo is the best player Ive seen all year. Thought they looked a fair bit better than S shields and their pro side for example. They made it 4-2 with the last kick as we chased an equaliser, but Id say they won fair n square. Assuming they keep the side together, they will be real threat in this div in 24-25.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
The two new loanees will get game time at Curzon, both seem well rated but Curzon is a good club to lean the ropes, Curzon main attributes as a club at this level is their hard workrate, that they get stuck in and don’t hold back and also well……know all the tricks in the book, but they also are a passing team than direct and them attributes above are vital for development, neither will last long here if too namby pamby to get involved.

Seems hughes did well when he came on, nearly scored and got us the pen, would not surprise me if he starts Tuesday although South Shiels away would be a baptism of fire.

Tough game midweek but this season we have beaten Tamworth in cup, Scunthorpe and also Brackley and Spennymoor away when both in top 5 so it’s not an impossible ask, all depends on stopping them scoring first half, annoying and frustrating them and then changing to the offence second half.

Just shows ~ when Oyibo signed for us I cant remember him being very good and he hardly played.

To be fair he hardly played and obviously with a run of games he has blossomed and looks like we might have missed a trick not resigning him.

Only way we were getting out of Scunthorpe with "only" a 2-0 defeat.

Yep our 8-0 shoeing kind of puts your defeat to us into context doesn't it?

Edwards was on the bench on Saturday so assume he will be fine to partner Burke at centre back tomorrow? Whitehouse will drop back to cover for suspended Roberts. Main issue seems to be up front, not sure Caton can go again so quickly after Saturday, Thomas broke his arm on Saturday, Evans recalled, Hall out and Peers is out. Ironically Peers' suspension doesn't matter, the only reason he got that red was frustration about the ref missing a challenge from a Darlington player which has ultimately broken a bone in his foot.
