Go on then, tell me the difference. Tell me which one is harmless to people with breathing difficulties, ie asthma.
Simple really. A flare is set off by a moron who thinks that ground rules and regulations don't apply to them. Smoke bombs are set off by an idiot who thinks that ground rules and regulations don't apply to them.

We probably deserved to win, but only just as Maidstone really should have been at least two up, maybe three before we scored the first. Moses had a super game with two really well taken goals.Have just watched the replay, and to me they should definitely have had a penalty. Also noticed Miller looked 'white' in his interview and according to twitter he had apparently been ill all day so in circumstances he did well to stay the duration.
However, I am still unsure about our play off possibilities, and you can't look beyond the frailties of our defence which frankly is embarrassing, and it's little wonder why some teams have absolutely hammered us this season, and in Orlu we must have one of the worse centre halves in the league.
Whats the footballing equivalent of all fingers and thumbs, because that describes Orlu, made worse, and I have said this so many times by this season by this absurd man marking policy Kinnear employs.
How can any player have ten yards of space in the middle of the penalty area as happened for their goal, i'll tell you why, because our centre halves were aall over the place marking their players, it's totally embarrassing.
But after taking six hours to both thaw and dry out and sitting here on reflection and after watching the recording three points is all that matters even if the scoreline flatters us, and I think full credit has to be given to Maidstone as it was Boxing day for the way they both hung in at times and pressed forward, and as others have said, if they had even one of our forwards the result could have been the other way around.
Joint fourth eh, who would have thought, and just behind the might FGR who are shipping in more than we are, long may that continue/

Value for money? Results, not just now but entertainment definitely.

I know we should be winning yesterday, but fuck me, that was pretty damn good to watch. After 7 years of boring shite under Hockaday and boring but more effective (to a point) football under Pennock it's great to see such mad exciting stuff, you aint gonna get bored watching us.

With 18 goals conceded in our last 6 games it seems we've decided to copy Dagenham's approach to defending. If we keep averaging conceding 3 goals a game we probably wont win the league mind, so got to get that sorted.

Might be good to watch, but not having won since November you seem to be missing a trick.

Just seen a video of the game - we were not clever at all in the way we tried to close that match out - letting ball after ball enter our area. Frustrating that the equaliser has a large hint of controversy about it but what can you do.

Personally think TUFC and FGR should leave the National League and play each other on a weekly basis to guarantee top entertainment for all. :shifty:

Nope, we need a win. Desperately.

But still enjoying watching my team playing such exciting football, the kids loved it yesterday and that is what watching your local team should be about first and foremost, enjoyment. If we can find a balance between attack and defence we'll be great to watch, and will win a lot more then we lose.

I'll be at Bromley next week singing my heart out for the lads. Proud to be FGR. Fuck the haters.

I really don't know where to start with that, the channel down our left side was as broad as the one that divides England and France, and if we had defended that one as poorly in WWII as Rovers did yesterday we would all be speaking German. There is no doubt that we played really well for the last ten minutes, but there was something a bit off for the eighty that preceded them, but it did produce a game that will live long in the memory and not always for the right reasons. The fourth Torquay goal scored from a free kick, aided by a Rovers team attempting the mannequin challenge, had Nico mouthing to his bench "what happened there?"...answers on a postcard. I have seen a few 4-4 results but that was my first 5-5...I am now hoping for a 6-6 before the season is out...any takers?

Dagenham away? The way they concede at home v our invisible defence, could literally be anything.

Yep I agree with you. Hence the idiots comments. But smoke bombs aren't dangerous whereas flares can seriously injure people

A bit of perspective on yesterday: if somebody said to me on boxing day morning you would still be only a point behind the imps and be 2 points further ahead of fgr on new years night i would have bitten their hands off.

On paper 2 games against guiseley and torquay looked a lot easier then a toughies against macc..... on reflection im more then happy with that

For Maidstone to charge £15 for that away end is nothing short of disgraceful. Appreciate that there's not a lot they could do, and apparently £15 is minimum for the league but that was seriously poor. Of the 250 or so Dover fans (couldn't hear, the tannoy didn't work), about 75 will have been able to see any football. Couldn't see fuck all so can barely comment on the game. Wasn't allowed to move to somewhere where with a perfect view (i.e. Behind the goal). Tea was shite too. Add all that to the pouring rain and no cover, and the ridiculous overpolicing of away fans and it made for a very unpleasant experience. I can't imagine many Dover supporters will return next time round.

Yeah I can't blame you for feeling short changed for that experience but I would imagine the league won't let us charge less for away fans than home fans. If you'd been allowed to stand behind the goal at least half of you would have had a view.
But there's not a lot we can do, we need to build the new stand asap just in case we stay up and health & safety dictates the area behind the goal has to be left as a walkway.
I've always enjoyed visiting Crabble so fingers crossed we're still around so you can visit when the new stand is in place.

We had the same problem at Maidstone, although not segregated. Have to spend the game staring at the back of someone's head whilst not being able to stand in the empty area behind the goal.

Never had a worse away experience (except the result, obviously).

We were told the away end at Maidstone would be sorted after our visit, but nothing seems to have been done.

When will this madness end?

I hope its not like that in may... if we have a chance of the title last game of the season we will take a stupid amount despite the distance, we also have a strong southern army some other arrangements may need to be made just in case.

The aim is for the stand to be ready for the Lincoln game in March

If I'd have known it would be that bad I wouldn't have bothered. I enjoyed the game but don't understand how they can justify charging £15 to be stood in the pissing rain on a building site only being able to see about 1/3 of the pitch.

I will visit again when the stadium is completed, but I know many others won't return on principle after that.

Hope Maidstone stay up, enjoyed speaking with their supporters at both games. Good banter without any serious animosity between the supporters.

It ain't just the away fans who can't see fuck all, its pretty much everyone who ain't in the main stand or bus shelter behind the goal. Says its all that yesterday the bar was jam packed with people watching the game on TV because it was better than the shitty view outside....

We've done the double over whinging Chester. What's the excuse this time lads? New signing, George Carline looks excellent and we've now scored 10 goals in our last 3 matches. Up to 15th and 9 points clear :2thumb:

We were awful tonight even before the sending off. Dagenham really weren,t that good IMO, much depends on Hawkins finding his scoring boots again if they are to make the play offs.

That sending off was atrocious. Studs up above on the knee, absolutely appalling.

Dull game really but we bossed it and got a much needed three points and clean sheet as well. Injured players on the way back and another (on the face of it) winnable game on Saturday.

Hopefully it's a bit bloody warmer at Ferriby!

Join the club. According to the league's twitter, we're the only two clubs to do the festive double this year.
