Our 88th minute winner was sweet revenge for Boxing Day when Wrexham did us at around the same time.

First half we dominated and should have scored more but for some poor finishing, in particular Jeff Hughes hitting the post from two yards. Macclesfields first against the run of play.

Second half started similar to the first with more wasteful finishing before a good headed goal. We were second to every ball for 30 minutes and they scored from both their chances in that period. Never a penalty but that didn't really matter due to Rovers completely going off the boil with astray passing and a complete lack of tempo to attacks and pressing.

Have to pick ourselves up after that which was undoubtedly a blow. First time our defence have had a mare, but we still had enough chances - lack of clinical finishing really holding us back.

Agreed, Boyesy is no diver. They felt there was a foul in the box leading up to your second goal too.

Think you can attribute Rovers defeat to a number of factors. Firstly credit to Macc, who broke up our play, battled hard and their finishing was clinical. Rovers wasted some chances particularly in the first half and there was some fannying around in defence. However with Wallace a virtual passenger, we were totally out-run in midfield and the manager ought to have addressed that issue much sooner.

Thought is was all down to us.

First half we played like champions elect and looked like we would go on to win by 5, second half we played like a bottom half team with delusions of being a football team. Whilst Macc just did the same things all game.
