My sources tell me this shoddy little club is to be relegated at the end of the season due the state of their home ground. From what I remember of it, it is debatable if it was even fit for the Conference North, when they were promoted there, so why were they permitted promotion to the Premier division? :dk:

A shoddy little club that's currently playing at a higher level than the mighty Halifax

Seem to remember overhearing a conversation in their clubhouse when we went there in January that they would be dropping down even if they stayed up because of the ground maintenance that was required.

Shame really, I know they're bottom of the league but bar the last few games where they've taken a hammering a couple of times, I thought they equipped themselves relatively well. Had nothing going forward all season long (bar that one weekend where they went nuts at Southport) but at the back they kept it *relatively* tight and at 0-0 were quite difficult to break down. Good bunch of a fans, nice little set up and generally a nice club - good luck to them in the future.

It's the Nou Camp compared to Solihull Motors place.

Seems like they've lived within their means, enjoyed their one season in the National League and will live to fight another day. Better than spending money they don't have on the ground and players and jeopardising their survival. I wish them well.

I remember when Altrincham last hosted North Ferriby in April 2014, they had about 30 players warming up before the game, with a load of what looked to be academy lads hanging about during the game. I remember thinking they had more "people" / hangers-on than fans (about 15 or so). They were a horrible team back then, dirty, niggly, hoofy types. They got a penalty every game it seemed, a bit like Barnet.

Clubs are allowed a years grace aint they but surely to get that evidence of funding and improvement plans need to be in place. Its the fa to blame as they should not have been allowed in play offs and either 6th placed team should have got in or there semi final opponents getting a bye to the final

When we got up to the Conference, our capacity was 3000. Which was fine. After a few years up when we could afford it we built a new terrace to get the ground capacity up to 5000, (it's now the away end at The New Lawn). Clubs should be given a few seasons to get their ground up to standard, otherwise it's too risky. There's no point spending a load on the ground before you've consolidated.

If the rules had been as strict back then as they are now, we would have been demoted and probably wouldn't have ever come back or been able to grow into the club we are now.

Forest green seems to be one of best in league too these days too but if clubs were given a few seasons im not so sure some would ever do the work. To be honest a team at step 6 should have the ground not far off conference standard to even be allowed in play offs. Minor work can easily be done in summer unless a major ground rebuild is needed. Has sollihull passed, that looked a bit iffy when i was there in january

I feel like the fair solution would be 3 years grace to improve your ground, but there needs to be evidence in the first year of making steps towards having a good enough ground

Far's I see it, it may be a farcical season for North Furby, but a doomed season beats giving Flyde any time in that league instead, which is what would've happened. Their rise and subsequent fall has had to wait another year. But in the fairly unlikely event of North Furby going for promotion again, wouldn't it be obvious for the FA to alter their rules yet again to prohibit these sides from gaining promotion? Sadly, I can see them Hydeing their way back down the leagues now.

We have loads of seats now buddy. We've just got to improve our tannoy and ensure we get enough points to stay up.
And how about getting rid of the silly 'Moors' tag too?
There are no moors round Solihull so the name is ridiculous.
Change it to Solihull Town or Warwickshire United or something.

A bit rich considering I've never met any lasses from Crewe called Alexandra.

NFU actually looked a very decent side, they kept their shape, were strong in the tackle denied us many chances and caused us problems at the other end. Emerton and Thompson looked good players. Their new loan keeper was very solid under pressure on crosses as well, didn't really have many saves to make. Only the second side to beat us at TNL this season, I've forgot the other one, and they deserved it.
