I have said it for the last 3-4 weeks that certain games are huge in terms of final positions. But really this one is, a defeat for Notts would mean a 7 point gap to third.
Whilst that isn’t insurmountable with 6 games left including Accrington away on Monday I don’t think we can do it.

There are a lot of 6 pointers on Friday, a win could bring the top 3 into play a defeat could see us drop down considerably.
I am keep my predictions to myself as everytime I have put one in a matchday thread it’s been the opposite result.

Then all you have to do is predict a 5-0 defeat and there you go. Happy days!

yup, it's a biggie all right. We're a lot better away from home so I'm pleased this isn't at Adams Park.

This game won't decide the season but even I might get hopes that an auto finishing spot is within our grasp if we do this (and also if Exeter cock up). Plenty of football left to play after Friday though obviously.

It’s so or die for the Stylish Magpies imo, almost last chance saloon.

Anything other than a win would end auto dream. A loss, would have many worrying about slipping out of playoffs altogether come end of the season

We really need a performance here, both in terms of result and style of play, to convince the fans our promotion challenge (including play-offs) is still viable after the abomination that was Chesterfield. I'm talking the likes of Bristol Rovers/Brentford/Swansea (2nd half at home, obvs!) in the cup, or Luton away in the league. Just some effective attacking football - not the aimless dross that was served up on Sunday.

Nolan isn't prone to mass changes, but I think the fans need to see some sort of realisation Chessie wasn't good enough by a long stretch. For starters, please give Jones a run in the team now. We HAVE to be on the front foot, and for all Dickinson's improvement from last season, Jones offers that far more with his instinct to overlap. And he isn't the answer to all our problems, but I would at least like to see Forte given a chance again - the complaints over our chronic lack of pace are becoming louder.

As for Wycombe, well we won 4-2 there in August but Friday will be a completely different game. I'm sort of hoping Ainsworth gets a bit stuck between going for the win and thinking a draw would be a good result (which it would) and that allows us an element of control. Hope O'Nien is still out too!

Would expect about 1,000 to travel up?

It can't be as topsy turvy as our home record compared to away!

Anyway, we've got to win to still be in with a chance of automatic promotion, you'd say. I wouldn't make wholesale changes from the Chesterfield game (probably one - Jones for Dickinson, and possibly Hall back for Brisley as well), the home form simply isn't a problem and Shola/Stead works at home.

What we do need to do is then make changes (Forte for Ameobi definitely, Virtue for Noble maybe) for the away game at Accrington, whatever the result/performance is on Friday.

We've sold our allocation of 800 tickets plus it's pay on the gate so we should have over 1,000 Chairboys travelling up in hope of an away win with us having the best away record in League 2 this season, for myself i can see a draw.

Hope you both lose :)

Actually I think a Notts win would be better, though I really can't see it after the performance on Sunday

I openly don’t rate Dickinson , improved this season no doubt but that isn’t saying much.
Jones pre injury was far better in the full back role. He’s too limited imo, a 6/10 man at best.

Hawkridge is the other I would replace, not good enough and dipped from his early season form.

I’ll leave it Super Kev’s hands to work out

I wouldn't read too much into our game against Chesterfield. We were roundly dog shite but also had some terrible luck in the game. We are generally up for it when we play at home. I'm sure Nolan will make changes.

Don't get the calls for RF. The guy chucked away points against Crawley and I'm not convinced he's an upgrade on Colin.

I'd expect Noble to be dropped. He was shite after his Motm performance the week before. Probably Husin to come in

There has to be at least two changes from Sunday or it sends an awful message out to the fringe players on the bench and a possibly even more damaging one to the players who started

Am I right in reading that Ainsworth wants more protection for Akinfenwa.

You cannot be serious, like?

From refs not opposition players, they just think as he's so big anyone that runs into him must have been fouled. Last week against Vale was a perfect example of a ref's preconceptions giving a foul every time he won the ball.

I know exactly what you are talking about , Devon White aka Bruno, was the perfect example of it.

Tbh players like Akinfenwa and White are a nightmare to referee cos neither are/were saints. Huge variance in how much they are penalised / get away with depending on the ref in charge

Great news! Just read that Luke O'Nien should be fit for this game and we should have defender Anthony Stewart and midfielder Sam Saunders back for the last 5 games so that's almost everyone fit at last.

Yep O'Nien starts in a 4-3-3 with Craig Mackail-Smith,Nathan Tyson and The Beast up front, no Dom Gape in midfield so Matt Bloomfield comes in which isn't good news.

This is great, absolutely hammering it down, Nolan’s been sent off, Wycombe getting bookings everywhere, ref has completely lost control.

Should have had 2 penalties and Noble will be sent off if it keeps up like this.

Wow! Simply wow!

Anti Football 0 - 0 Anti Football

Referee awful for both sides lost it from the off , no wonder both sides tried to con him throughout when they weren't fouling.

Back 4 were solid with Brisley clear MOTM , nothing else to report.

Big lad should of won it for Wycombe with two great chances near the end, Notts should of had a penalty imo

Neither side should be near automatic promotion based on that

At least we haven’t got David Flitcroft as Manager, I’m searching for positives here lol

Lose at Accrington and play offs look unlikely based on current form and performances

Very scrappy match, overall a better point for Wycombe than for us.
We should have had a penalty and Shola missed a very good chance first half.
Nolan needs to get a grip on himself. He's the first to complain about un- professional behaviour, ( Fitzsimons is still being punished) so he really should lead by example.
He's now in the stands for Accy on Monday when we need leadership most.
In the end hoofball isn't enough and I can't see us improving between now and seasons end.

Ref was poor , full stop. Gave free kicks for anyone who went down and seemed to be leading a one man campaign to make it a non contact sport.

I’ll take the point (just as well since I’ve got no feckin’ choice really) - Exeter losing was big for us today.

Creditable away showing from us (although I suspect a fair percentage were saddos who just wanted to leer at the girls in Hooters ;) ).

Now let’s hope that the Grimmers are as shit as they say they are on Monday....

I quite enjoyed it for 0 0 hit the post twice, two good penalty shouts, two great saves one from each keeper, the villain of the peace stalking the pitch whistle in gob.
Think there fans would keep quite about being nicknamed the 'chair boys' not sing about it

I believe that this was almost last chance saloon, todays result puts even more pressure on Monday’s game at Accy, meaning we now need to go there and win. We have only won a couple of times on the road since September.

Nah I can’t see it now, think we need to cement the play offs and hope for the best.

I’m running out of ‘must wins’, Stanley need to put us out of our misery and should.

Grant Allesandra and Hawkridge all being poor or inconsistent recently ends it for us as an attacking force

Not when you think of the past history of High Wycombe and what was the occupation of the majority of the workforce, i like it as it stands out. :)

Ah no, that bit I’m fine with, it’s the “boys” bit on the end that’s the clunker. I know we can’t call ourselves “the Chairmen” cos it sounds too corporate, and we can’t call ourselves “the Bodgers” (Wycombe term for a chairmaker) because that just sounds like we bodge everything up (truth hurts) and no fucker outside Wycombe would get it.

Other teams like the Hatters, the Glovers, the Railwaymen don’t have this issue. Oh well....
