Really hard to tell as we haven't seen a minute of the team under Clemence yet, but I'd argue the first two games are more or less perfect for him to get to know the squad and almost have a mini pre-season before the league kicks back in.

Hereford (A) FA Cup - Win
Brighton U21s (H) Pisspot trophy - Win
Wrexham (A) - Wrexham without Mullin and McLean will help, but I imagine we'll succumb to a long ball or a throw in at some point and lose by the odd goal.
Salford (H) - Tricky one but Clemence's first home league game, hopefully a new manager bounce win.
Tranmere (A) - They've been fairly awful, but that counts for nothing. Think we've already lost to the bottom side in the league twice this season so I'd take a draw.
AFC Wimbledon (H) - Our bogey side over the last decade, especially at Priestfield. Draw.

No Mullin, or McClean for the Gills game and also an injury crisis in our defence. Fletcher out for a couple of months as well so down to bare bones in attack for that game.

Not a bad time to play us really.

You usually beat us at your place I'm assuming you mean? We've beaten you 10 times and you've beaten us 7 in total since we started playing you back in 2010.

We usually beat you at home yes. Which is where this game is.

Derby (H) - LOSS - Not arsed about this if we go out given we've got the TV money. I expect defeat given we've got at least 7 out and would rather it be decided on the day. Pointless having replays now if they're scrapped from Round 3 onwards. Scrap the lot of them.

Notts County (H) - DRAW - Both sides down to the bare bones. County have struggled against the top sides this season whereas we've been very competitive, Stockport apart. County were our bogey team for many years but we've won the last two against them at Gresty Road. I'm gonna sit on the fence for this one.

Morecambe (A) - Postponed.

Doncaster (H) - WIN - Got a strong home record against Donny and haven't lost to them since Billy Paynter's smash and grab 11 seasons ago. Should have a few bodies back for this game so I'll fancy us here.

Sutton (A) - WIN - Got to be putting sides like this to the sword if we want to be up there. I reckon this will be a comprehensive victory setting us up nicely for December.

Colchester lose.
Tranmere win.
Grimsby draw.
Crewe draw.

If we can win 2 of the 4 at least gets us moving and gives us a touch of hope. On paper our best set of fixtures in a while but likely 3 with new or newish managers so their performances can change quickly. Performances improving but home still seems the most likely. We need to start doing something away too if we’re to survive.

LOL don't get all sarcastic with me for correcting your errors, Mr Sassy Pants.

We won 4-1 (A) and 3-0 (H) in two of our last three meetings and won the other home game 1-0. So we've comfortably been the better side since you last beat us way back in 2018.

Could be another convicing win this time given your current form.

Fair enough I forgot about those games, what with all the covid fuckery around that time and such. Still backs up my point though in that we’ve actually won 5 out of the last 6 meetings, often fairly comfortably. And since then we’ve been in a higher league.

Only been one match between our two sides that was worth winning anyway. Enough of that though, how are you lot looking lately?

Basically every time we look like we’re making progress, win a game and are starting to get more players back fit, we put in a shit performance and a few more get ruled out again.

Careful Chris I can remember a previous time you were feeling a bit BULLISH too….. ;)
Got my tickets. Buzzing.

Glad it's Grimsby, under Bartlett no one can stop us, let alone a Hurst managed team. Will be great to FRY those fish at Wemmers. And then have another EPIC PITCH INVASION.

I might return Chrisblor's nice piccie he took for me after we've hammered the final nail into the operation promotion shambles.

Not at all. Expected you to get through. There'll be a bigger crowd, which is good. Also it will be all the more sweeter to go up beating you lot, Braintree I quite like so would have felt a bit bad for them.

Where's your belief? The players believe, We've proven we're head and shoulders above everyone else in this league, we've got a team full of top class players and there's now a real feel good factor round the place. We're not messing this one up.

Scott is a top bloke and he'll have the lads firing on all cylinders. We're gonna do this.

Our game with Walsall has been postponed due to international call ups for Walsall
We could have our 2 left backs out for the Accrington away game because of this. Shit.

One of Ireland's games is being billed as McClean's last so we'll definitely be losing him. Jacob Mendy has been getting called up by The Gambia as of late also.

Not majorly concerned as Forde can do a job over on the left, too. But that leaves us short on the right as Barnett is crocked till new year ish.

MacAlinden? *shudders at the thought of that!*

Our game vs Morcambe has been confirmed as postponed due to Morecambe having players away on international duty. Done us a favour given our injuries at the moment to be honest.

Our game with AFC Wimbledon has been postponed due to international call-ups - for a change it's us that's pulled the trigger on this one. Smith off to NZ and the other two assumed to be Eisa turning out for Sudan and Schultz for the Irish U-19's.

well 6 games and 6 wins in November - our hope now is that Wild's sending off at Colchester means he won't get the manager of the month award
