How many points do you see your team collecting in October.

For the Alex we've had an unbeaten September in the league, so if we get close to that again in October that will really set us up, but we have a couple of tricky fixtures to get through.

Gillingham (H) Gills look a solid but unspectalur team. Were 12 unbeaten at home so I'd back us to keep that going DRAW

Salford (A) Salford really struggling and the manager under pressure. Our away form had been our achilles heel for a few years, but si far this season only 1 defeat in 4 and we've had some tough away trips at Wrexham, Swindon and Wimbledon where we've not been beaten. WIN

Wrexham (H) Pizza Cup - Really don't care LOSS

Tranmere (H) another team that have struggled so far, again with our home form I'd expect us to win this one. WIN

Crawley (A) the suprise package so far, I tipped them for the drop as did most others. Going to be a tricky game on current form and we can't stay unbeaten forever, so here is where I think we may stumble. LOSS

Stockport (H) should be a good game this one. Will be a decent crowd and atmpsphere under the light. Can see a ding dong battle ending in a score draw. DRAW

Harrogate (A) a game we should be looking at picking up something from. I wouldn't be surprised to see another draw. DRAW

A busy 6 league games 2 wins, 3 draws and a loss. I'd take that but if we can turn another one of the draws into wins we should stay right in the play off picture.

Swindon H - High scoring draw as the division's entertainers go head to head.

Barrow A - Might get beat here I reckon, doesn't feel our kind of game.

Derby H - Pizza cup, we lose every cup game under Williams.

Mansfield H - 1-1 stalemate.

Gillingham A - Think we win here, their goalscoring record isn't great and we aren't a team you're likely to beat 1-0, need to outscore us.

Newport H - Don't know much about them but we're good at home, win.

Wrexham H - Think we'll beat them at home like last year, harder to do what they did to us at the Racecourse late last season.

Tough month that will tell us a lot about where we are, 10 or 11 points or there abouts would be sound. Expect us to generally continue our form of being good but having one game every few weeks where it just goes wrong and we ship four or five.

AFC Wimbledon A - Lose

Wrexham H - Draw

MK Dons A - Draw

Sutton A - Win

Man City U21S H - Pizza Cup. Again, I don't really care about the cup. Lose.

I think the composition of the points will make a big difference, but I'd absolutely take 10 or 11 points if offered now. I'd probably take 7 or 8 if you guaranteed me Bostock and Palmer were still fully fit at the end of the month

County play four of the current bottom six in October, and hopefully see a few more seniors returning from injury. Another 13 points shouldn't be unreasonable

Crewe (A) - Draw - Tough game, but both sides are hard to beat.
MK Dons (H) - Win - We tend to do alright against sides that try to play too much.
Walsall (A) - Draw - Off the top of my head I can't remember winning at the Bescot, so would absolutely take a draw.
Notts (H) - Win - Likewise the MK game. We're one of the best defensive sides in the league, and Notts are vulnerable to counter attacks so I expect us to play that way and kill them with pace in behind. A classic Neil Harris-ing.
Swindon (A) - Lose - My outside bet for autos at the start of the season, think they'll outgun us in this one.
Newport (H) - Win - Need to win home games against mid-table opposition.

It’s not fair to be asking these questions at this current time. Realistically, 18 points.

Gillingham(H) - WIN. We have to feel full of confidence even despite the late goal against Wrexham. Think the way they set up will play into our hands and that will help us get a result. At least I hope so.

Salford(A) - DRAW. Rolled over the two times we've been there previously, but with them badly hit by injuries, this is a fantastic chance to win. Won't say we'll win, but I would hope we can get at least a point.

Tranmere(H) - WIN. Be interesting to see if they've appointed a permanent manager by then. They are in poor form though, especially away from home and issues all over the pitch. Would hope we can be winning that.

Crawley(A) - LOSS. A team I don't think we should be fearing and if you'd have asked me at the start of the season I'd have said win. But I don't think we're going through a 2nd month unbeaten, so I'll say we'll lose here.

Stockport(H) - LOSS. Would hope for a draw, but they've got a very good team even with their injuries. I hope with it being a big local game, we can put on a performance, but they look better than they did last season, so I'm saying our unbeaten home run comes to an end here.

Harrogate(A) - WIN. Got to be getting away wins somewhere and if it's not at Salford or Crawley, I'd think it should be here. They are doing their usual scrap enough points to stay up routine, but we took 4 points off them last season and we're better this time around. Got to be targeting 3 points.

3-1-2 record. Might be a touch optimistic, but I'd hope for at least 2 wins from this lot.

We’ve got 4 at home and 2 away this month so hopefully come away with 11/12 points min.

It would be nice to keep the unbeaten start going but you’d imagine with the fixtures we’ve got someone will put at end to it this month, if we can not lose the next 2 which are both at home I’m sure County will relish being the first side to beat us. Got no idea what to expect in that game, probably 4-4 or something daft.

October is our achilles heel. We've struggled in October for nearly every season since our Championship relegation in 2005-06. We haven't won a game in October since 2020. That's a run of 13 games without a win. Countless times we've ended September with genuine playoff hopes only to sink dramatically into mid table obscurity/a relegation battle by Halloween. Yet this time, I think things will be very different.

Gillingham - WIN. First goal wins this game I feel but I'm going to back our impressive attack to deliver against the best defence in the league.

Salford- WIN. Could well be putting Neil Wood out of work if we win. They're hideously out of form and I back us to capitalise on that.

Tranmere - WIN. One of a handful of sides I've never seen us lose to at Gresty Road. And I've seen Tranmere come here 8 times previously. Be interesting if they have their new manager by then though...

Crawley - DRAW. One of those annoying places where we actually seem to always play better than them but we rarely get the result we deserve. They've started well and I can see them getting a late equaliser again here.

Stockport - LOSS. The unbeaten home record goes here I reckon. They're a very streaky team as they've proved last couple of seasons and once they hit form they just don't stop. Still think they'll win the league.

Harrogate - WIN. Our away form is tragic since COVID but we have to be winning here if we have genuine aspirations of a Top 7 finish.

4-1-1 is optimistic but I feel this month has much kinder away fixtures for us to start improving the away form in. If we get 13 points this month, we're well and truly in the promotion race, let alone playoff contention. Just gotta hope the October jinx doesn't return like it usually does.

Better than I expected we got ourselves 12 points with 4 wins and 2 losses. One of those being abit of a joke at Salford with some very questionable refereeing.

11 points from 5 in the end with the FGR postponement. Still unbeaten so you can’t be unhappy with that month. My prediction of us scoring 4 at County bang on aswell…

Not far off with that prediction. We were absolutely shafted by a terrible referee at Salford but got a win instead of a draw at Crawley and we thoroughly deserved it. Expected the loss at home to Stockport too.

The other three wins I was bob on. Soon as we scored that first goal vs Gills we looked comfortable bar one or two chances for them. Tranmere never looked like laying a glove on us and we won ugly at Harrogate to really boost our Top 7 credentials. Only sad note of this month is losing Jack Powell to a season ending injury. He's been great for us and will be a big loss. Hope he's back fit and firing soon.

Yeah, for us to be where we are with the long term injuries is a remarkable effort tbh. If anything we’ve ended the month stronger with 3 successive wins.

Of course there is 1 last game to sneak in october with port vale tomorrow, we an interesting test, especially if akins is out which i assume he will.

The 10 points or so I wanted, just... in an entirely different way to expected for the most part. Fair enough.

The best month we’ve had points wise this calendar year. Also, our emergency loan GK signing Belshaw deservedly won player of the month, he’s been superb (and kept very busy). Unfortunately it seems our other keeper is now fit, so that’s probably the end of his time here.
