Beautiful.

There is a bit of a difference though, Bowyer joined Charlton as a schoolboy and started his career there, he’s a Charlton bloke and has gone full circle and now landed his first managerial job there. There is a lot more substance to what he his saying.

He always talks a good game and when things go well it's great, but he got promoted with us with Afobe/Grigg/Lewis Baker/Carl Baker/Alli... five players that at that time would have slotted into any team 13th in the championship and lower. Before that for the play off campaigns he had John Gorman at his side which made the difference.

Which is a big question from me, who is his assistant? The only man other than JG to make a difference while he was here was Ritchie Barker, who was effectively another Karl when it came to him managing us.

His assistant will be Derek Fazackerley. Very experienced obviously and well respected.

The coaching set up will remain the same as it has been since Michael Appleton set it up, at least until the Summer. I'm guessing but if they click then it won't change other than 2 additional coaches coming in as he has said he eventually wants a couple more added.

Says more about your over-estimation of Oxford players.

You wasted hours being wrong in January and your club embarrassed themselves with a pathetic valuation of Oxford players at that time. We know the price because we routinely sell these players to proper clubs that can afford them.

If you want to do something you can't afford, test drive a Porsche. It'll be a lot more fun.

A lot of money for a 5th choice midfielder, if someone like Leeds wants to overspend on League One players and still finish below us then fair play to them.

We'll just continue turning £25k players into £10m ones.

Bless him talking about players he's never watched. Don't worry, if he doesn't progress enough then you might be able to afford him next transfer window

Pretty sure Leeds and Roofe finished above you anyway. Still, being wrong about football shouldn't stop you

I'm obviously talking about the current (relevant) season, where we're 10pts above free spending Leeds. Pretty confident that will be the case after 46 games as they're pretty crap.

How much did Sheff Utd pay for Lundstram by the way?

But this season hasn't finished, and ignoring last season when they actually paid for roofe and actually did finish above you just undermines your argument.

Great point except he had six months left and also isn't Ledson. Also Sheff Utd had just been promoted from l1 and quite clearly didn't have bags of money (all that has ever been said about your club is that it's irrelevant). Would have hoped you could have worked that out but fair play for continually lowering the bar.

Difference being Leeds were an established Championship side, while it was our second season back. I'd consider us pretty established now and we've overtaken them without paying over the odds on players. Kind of proves were doing something right.

Just trying to get a comparison, not that I expect reasoned posts from yourself. I've no idea how much Sheff Utd paid for him, just seen him mentioned by you as an example in the past.

Having watched him a few times I'd hope ledson is significantly better than him after this fuss and apparent valuation.

That's because you live in the 1700s or whenever PNE were still relevant and see nothing unreasonable with selling your third or fourth best player for £10m and taking an equivalent L1 player for £300k or whatever piss take amount you offered.

Every Ox fan on here told you that you'd misread the L1 and Champ markets, and we were proved right because you couldn't get a player who wanted to leave from a Chairman who wanted to leave.

Unfortunately you haven't learnt from that, and you prefer to drone on about how PNE spent a month humiliating themselves just to add their 400th choice midfielder or whatever. I'm always happy to talk lower league football, i fucking love the stuff, but I don't take you seriously because i can't decide if you're a troll or just incredibly arrogant and blinkered.

It was £750k, which was rejected/ not responded to. That's fair enough as North End seem pretty happy to wait and try again the summer.

You for some reason seem to take our 'low' offer almost personally though which I find amusing.

I take your replies to me personally because I have to suffer through them. You have this amazing ability to be wrong about everything and it is frustrating.

I don't have any opinion on Preston because I consider them an irrelevant club.

Yeah, you keep saying that, I'm quite enjoying our current irrelevance.

Going by his MK Dons interviews he will take all the praise when things go well but blame anyone else for a defeat .

A bit like yesterday then really.

“Thompson was a disgrace, the ref got that wrong, we didn’t deserve to lose, we were playing fantastic football, we deserved something from the game we .........”

...... Lost 3-0 mate.

Couldn't believe his interview after the game, didn't see the full match so can't comment to much on it. But if our manager said something like that after getting trashed 3-0, think I'd be worried about the future.

Thank you for your concern but; despite also not liking his interviews and not particularly wanting him recruited, he has a history of success in this league so I won't write him off on the back of one game and interview.

Not concerned couldn't give less shits tbh, although I don't want you to take MK Dons relegation spot. The mans a prick and everytime we play him makes excuses and spends 90 minutes whinging on the touch line. Not convinced he's a success either, took him years to get MK Dons up with a big budget and Dele Alli who's probably worth £80 mil in today's market.

Does he have a history of success?

Took him 3 or 4 goes to get a decent MK Dons side promoted after 2 failed play-off attempts. Got relegated in his first crack at the Championship and was subsequently sacked the following season for having them languishing just about the drop zone.

Hardly set the world alight with us either.

Okay some of you don't see promotion and developing players success. Maybe he was lucky.

Agreed he has been a dick in the past, and will probably continue to have some silly interviews but, considering we were nailed on to get Bellamy, Sol Cambpell, Lampard, I am happier with this appointment than the others mentioned... even if it was one of those mentioned I would get behind them and give them a fair crack at the job because I am not in a position, not being the owner, to do much else!
