Saturday 13th May - 19:45
Salford vs Stockport County

Sunday 14th May - 19:00
Bradford City vs Carlisle United

Fancy Stockport to beat Salford. Expect our game to be very tight. We didn't score against Carlisle in either of the league games but you always have a chance with Andy Cook in such good form. 1-1.

I fancy us to win the tie but that means winning this first leg, since our home form is so poor the last few months

Good luck to all involved except Salford.

I'd prefer Stockport to go up as I think they'd be the stronger of the remaining 3 next season down here.

Good luck to everyone apart from Salford (I just can’t be doing with going there again).

Am going with Bradford, just got a feeling they’ll turn it on in these games.

Feel we need a two goal lead after the first leg although I’d fancy us to do it on a good day.

Carlisle then:

We have a decent record against them at home but shocking up at Brunton Park.

Needless to say, we need a decent result on Sunday to take with us up their for the second leg.

Current ticket sales stand at over 19,000, including 2,400 from Carlisle. Reckon we’ll shift a couple of thousand more before kick-off - decent take up all round given it’s on SKY.

GK: Harry Lewis

RB: Brad Halliday
CB: Sam Stubbs
CB: Romoney Critchlow
LB: Liam Ridehalgh

CM: Adam Clayton
CM: Alex Gilliead
CM: Ritchie Smallwood

RW: Scott Banks
ST: Andy Cook
AM: Jamie Walker

Not sure what to expect, but I just hope we’re still ‘in it’ for the second leg.

Not looking forward to Monday, whatever the result. Game kicks off at 7pm, so I’ll be steaming come kick-off.

Can see there being quite a bit of bother in town. Big game under the lights with 20k City fan’s well oiled early doors, never bodes well.

Delighted to be here. It’s reward for a superb overall season that has far exceeded my expectation and whatever happens Paul Simpson deserves huge plaudits for assembling a team of players no one else wants on peanuts wages and getting them this far. Miraculous really. A brilliant managerial performance.

But now that we’re here I really want to win and unfortunately we have chosen the worst part of the season to be in bottom 6 form. 2 wins in 11. Turgid performance after turgid performance. Injuries, suspensions, persisting with an underperforming woefully out of form Dennis. I can’t make a case for us getting through the tie and think we’ll lose both games, this first leg by a few goals.

I’ve been to Valley parade 4 times including the 0-0 this season and still haven’t seen us score a goal. I expect that to continue tomorrow night.

Bradford City 3-0 Carlisle United

The tie all but over heading into the return leg at Brunton Park.

Not too fussed who goes up, have already been to Stockport and Carlisle so Salford and Bradford staying down would give me a chance to go to two new grounds...happy to visit either. If I was pushed to name a team I would rather see stay down it would probably be Salford as I fancy a city break to Manchester around our game there, plenty to see and do, as long as it isn't in the depths of winter!

Good luck to all involved, see three of you next season!

Given that both sides are traditionally terrible in the away fixture, I'm glad we're at home first. In my opinion we need to be winning the game tomorrow and preferably by a couple of goals.

Cheers bud. However I'm not confident.

No idea what our line up will be, a lot are carrying knocks and have been for weeks. Most other sides have had consistent teams, we've just not had that.

I’m leaning towards Bradford managing it. Think they’ll scrape past Carlisle 1-0 on aggregate and go on to win the final. Think Wotton is a big miss for Stockport and I have the horrible feeling that they’re going to get turned over by ManUre despite being comfortably the better side over the two legs.

Not just Wootton, Madden and Collar out apparently. Probably Rydel.

That's our best two strikers, best midfielder and best left wing back.

Sarcevic also been injured for weeks, not sure he'll be available.

Curzon Ashton....and Carlisle
On paper I felt the pressure was on the other 3 clubs and less on Carlisle because we are as such in the top 7 earlier than planned and with less of a budget than other 3 expectations would be less, but…….

In another way pressure could be much higher on Carlisle than the other 3, I’d expect any of Stockport, Bradford and Salford to be battling again next season if they fair…….that cannot be said of Carlisle, it may be their best chance.

Carlisle could lose a couple of their main defenders in summer, their best midfielder is being tracked and top scorer may go……..failure here isn’t always a case of ‘ah next year will see even more progress’ it may be the chance to take.

I think Carlisle was Bradfords best chance of final and Bradford was Carlisles best chance, think Stockport and Salford are more vulnerable for us in a one off game than 2 legged.

Nice to see press coverage, guardian ran a massive page article on the L2 play offs after talking about Stockport and Salford we got five words ‘Bradford play Carlisle on Sunday’ and even that was while taking about other game.

In terms of preference for me I'd like to see Salford win it. Just don't seem to add anything to the league. We did get four points off them though.

Bradford shouldn't be in this league. I do enjoy the games against them though and their fans are genuinely a good bunch.

Stockport had a dodgy start so to reach the play offs is a good effort. Plus from the National North to league one in a few seasons.

Carlisle are the team that has done the best against us this season so should be my favourites I suppose.

Good luck to all four. I hope whichever team does get through does it by playing the best football and we have no contentious issues.

A bloody envious Casey

Top 3 scorers out for the playoffs, 4 if Sarc is as well. If we go up it'll be the Northampton way.

Good time for Tanto and Stretton to start looking like solid forwards, thankfully.

We needed the win; if Tranmere had been two down it would have been unnecessary but at the time it was perfectly justificable.

Nah it wasn’t, we were chasing something not in our hands and shouldn’t need to bring on walking wounded players to beat a relegated side at home.

We’ve played ourselves.

All on the day mate aknow you have walking wounded but we don,t play on paper.
If you get the rub of the green and the ref does not spoil the game(big ask) aknow.
Yous have every chance. DC is not stupid got to trust him.

Neither Chesterfield nor Notts County look up to much on this showing.

I appreciate they’re our main rivals, but christ the quality has been absolutely shocking, i’ve seen few sides at field mill as bad as these 2 this season - though the chesterfield 2nd wasn’t bad.

You wouldn’t be wanting either of these keepers though, christ on a bike
