The pitch is also frozen solid. Frost covers can't cope with the temperatures of minus six we had this week.

Course they can, you're Tranmere. It's only off because you were thoughtful regarding Gateshead and the 13 fans who would travel down. It would be on otherwise.

Temperatures were down to -10 quite generally in Hampshire, I was out working in rescuing stranded drivers.

Other than paying to rent the pitch now, Chelsea give us zero help with the pitch, in fact our groundsman gives Chelsea advise on theirs, and for 2 days last week he was working on PSGs training pitches demonstrating some machinery he’s developed.
Can he come and look at ours, please? :bg:

If our game was actually postponed for anything other than Hartlepool having issues travelling yesterday, it was a shocking decision. Literally no snow whatsoever now and 80% had thawed before I got up this morning.

Hartlepool said they were going to travel today. Given there are still warnings not to travel issued by the Met Office and Police, heeding them and giving good notice of a postponement was a sensible decision, not a shocking one.

Agreed, calling it off was the right decision, it's a what 5 hour coach journey? and if there was a chance of it being pulled, calling it off beforehand seems sensible, you'll just have to wait a few extra days for your three points

Without knowing the areas involved, the surrounding areas were fine for Middlesbrough to play Leeds last night, and were fine for Huddersfield to travel to Tottenham this morning.

Also 5 years ago, the conditions were ten times worse for the away game at York and the home game against Northampton, yet neither were called off. Unfortunately these days games get postponed because of weather that "might" come.

Leeds to Boro is about an hour. Hudders flew down.

Our game at York wasn’t that bad as memory recalls and the Northampton game went ahead for other reasons as you know.

I’ve spent the last 4 nights up until 7 this morning rescuing stranded motorists all around the county, it may have been nice outside your bedroom window but the rest of the area including the M3 and A331 have been pretty dangerous.

I haven't driven since Wednesday as I work in Camberley and that area is quite a bit worse (although the trains and buses in the area have been fine other than a signalling fault on Thursday evening, but that can happen on a fine summer day). But the game was today, with the area thawing and up to 8c - therefore I assumed the whole area had improved a lot.

The York game was horrendous, the team coach couldn't get out of the ground, the players had to find any way of getting up and i'm sure we tried to ask for a postponement but the FL said travel issues weren't an excuse.

It's just frustrating as we couldn't afford to lose another game to midweek. Until the end of the season we only have 3 Saturday games (Boreham Wood, Maidenhead and Barrow), after only having one since 29th December.

Not sure it's a guaranteed 3 points - have you seen our home form?

Given about 70% of our fanbsse live away from Aldershot, I very much suspect the crowd would have been very low if it had been played today. With the improvement in the weather and probably some away support travelling, I would the imagine the crowd will be better Tuesday than it would have been today.

Different sport but warrington managed to get to ull last night for a super league match , 2 trains and a coach i believe! Away support looked poor for some reason.

Frustrating to lose that, Dover's keeper rightly named MOTM after he made a string of good saves.

Jake Caprice once again switched off at the back for us and allowed Mitch Pinnock to score a well taken goal late on. But we should've come away with something from that, we controlled large parts of the game and I thought Dover only looked threatening from set pieces.

Nothing wrong with the playing conditions, pitch was bobbly but very much playable - Can see why Dover keep it that way with their style of play!

Well Done to all those who made the effort to get the game on, I wouldn't of wanted to come back midweek, some you win, some you don't.

Wasn't your pitch donated by Chelsea FC a couple of years ago?

Yep, three years ago, but since then we have had no, or needed any, help maintaining it. Our groundsman has his own company and is incrediably highly qualified, they look after some of the best golf courses in the country as well as .Wycombe's pitch. Ours and WWFCs are their first foray into football and it seems to be going very well. After Chelsea put their old pitch down, they now come to Colin for advise instead of the other way, and it’s off the back of that they have picked up work at PSG and other clubs are looking at what they do. They have brought a lot of golf course maintenance technology into football. Our pitch has now had 43 games played on it this year and still has 100% grass coverage, which is a testament to the quality of the surface.

By the time we play Dover on March 24, it will be two and a half months since we had a Saturday home game, and a month since we had a home game at all.

If tomorrow's game at Guiseley is off, we're really gonna be struggling to fit all our games in - especially with a small squad.

You always beat us at your place......

Our trip to Halifax is also on April 10th

We don't always beat Macclesfield here though! Or Wrexham for that matter!

Last time we played Macclesfield here I believe we lost 4-0 in front of the TV cameras. It may have been 4-1, I'm not 100%, but I know we featured 4 debutants.
